Bump for when I 'm not seeing results

Yep, I pretty much was in your same shoes :( It was all about my deficit... as in, I wasn't creating one! Turns out (after better tracking and weighting) i was eating at maintenance ..and then some! I thought i was burning way more than I was. I ended up gaining body fat % and weight (measured at the gym after 3 months).…

125... will reevaluate once I get there! Probably 120 at the lowest.
-
I really like the attitude/though process of this!
-
I had a similar experience... After researching some, I thought the best way to lose fat/weight was to stop so much cardio and just focus on lifting (and BARELY any cardio). I didn't realize how little calories I was actually burning, but still eating like I was doing 45 min of cardio everyday. I ended up gaining weight…

Bump for when I get discouraged!

Don't feel bad! I go by weekly net calories as well. If I overeat a LOT on one day, I might spread the over eaten calories over a few days so I'm not starving the next day. I've gone by weekly calories and have been consistently losing lbs the last 2 months!
-
Kamut Puffs for 50 calories a CUP! I sometimes add these in as a filler to my other cereals... (I also add a splenda packet b/c they can be a little bland). But great if you're looking for low cal.

I am 5'3" ,starting weight at 136... I sit at a desk all day and lightly exercise after work on the elliptical for about 30 minutes, maybe 3-5 times a week. I set my goal at 1200, but looking back at the last 2 1/2 months I've actually been netting about 1300-1350. So far I've lost 9 pounds! I say that it's working pretty…

YES! Best show I've ever seen.

That's a good idea. Yes, my week resets on Monday and yes, I use the feature on my phone.
-
What would be the disadvantage of spreading it out over the next week and then staying in your calorie goal that week? I guess I don't really see how it would actually hurt anything?
-
Thanks, everyone! I would say this time I most likely went over by 1,000 - which would still put me at a very slight loss or into maintenance. Just thinking I could offset it some by eating a little less the next few days and try a bit harder to stay within my goals for the next week and not "roll over" any calories into…

Hey! I think I can help. I bought the nutrition plan and honestly, I hardly use it. Their premise is eating certain foods at certain times of days (IE No dairy or fruit after lunch, ONLY lean protein and veggies for dinner, etc.). I Found it too restricting and complicated. I would stress if I ate a piece of fruit after…

I do sometimes! I actually think it's kinda fun to play around with my calorie allotment for the next day... especially if I can fit in a dessert or a really yummy dinner!
-
I've actually been doing the same thing! I am having coffee at work for "breakfast" and then maybe a light snack around 10am. That gives me more calories to use for dinner...the most enjoyable meal for me :) It hasn't been hindering my weight loss at all! I would completely ignore the starvation mode propaganda and do what…

Exactly!! I am finding out if I allow myself to have whatever I want that stays within my calorie goals, I don't feel the need to 'cheat' on my diet...because I'm not really on a 'diet'!

I"m not sure...but I have a Polar HRM and I love it. I know nothing is 100% accurate so I just take my total calories burned and deduct about 15%. The HRM definitely shows that the numbers on the machines were over estimating! I still take into account that the HRM isn't error proof, hence the deduction... That way, I'm…

Van's Light multigrain waffles! 2 for 130 calories....plus some sugar free syrup. I can have a whole, filling meal for under 300 cals - 2 waffles -130 syrup -15 egg whites -30 sausage link - 120 oh and Halo Top Creamery ice cream!! So much better than Arctic Zero!

I spent the $$ and bought the plan... I honestly do not recommend it. It felt very much like a specific diet - eating certain foods and different times of the day, combining foods, 'off limit' foods, only clean foods... it would stress me out more than anything. Plus, they don't mention that you really do need to count…

I do the same!

You're supposed to eat back your exercise calories, that's why people are so hungry! I'm at 1200 calories, too...BUT I EAT back my exercise calories.... So I end up eating about 1400-1500 calories, but still netting 1200. No one ever clarifies if they are netting 1200 or grossing...big difference.
-
Anyone can add me, too. I am 5'3" , desk job and my maintenance is 1550. I am NETTING 1200, so I do eat back exercise calories..which means I actually eat anywhere from 1400-1600 a day. I think people need to start adding "NET" or "GROSS" to their daily calories.. I think it would cause less fights :)

Isn't there a big difference between NET 1200 and GROSS 1200?? I NET 1200 and have been consistently losing, but I usually am EATING 1500-1600 calories depending on my workout. I don't think enough people clarify the difference on here.
