Yes. He was complimentary, but like a few other posters, he didn't pay much attention to me when we were together, so he also hasn't paid attention to me the times I've run into him. The BIG DEAL for me is that now I don't care. I'd say the first 35 lbs I was losing to make him want me back. The rest are ALL MINE, and even…

You look fantastic! Thanks for the inspiration.

Several years ago, I worked at a non-profit that operated a food pantry a few days a week. One "gentleman" who had come by and was pressuring me to open the pantry for him outside of the operational hours told me, "It doesn't look like _you've_ ever missed a meal." I guess he thought that was going to make me change my…

I agree, thanks for being considerate about your dog's poo. I have the same problem. Sometimes I plan a loop past my driveway and can toss bag there until I get back. But I have gotten used to the grossness and will put bag in a pocket sometimes. Honestly, I am so smelly after a run and my clothes are going straight into…

Great post! This is why MFP has helped me so much. I had to get real about what I was really eating: quantity and quality. When I began consciously eating different foods, everything felt up in the air for a while. Now I am getting used to what it feels like to be "full" and "starving" and how to power my body for intense…

Well said Bushidomama. I also do not look like a Victoria's Secret model, but that surgery is very expensive. I think I would rather spend the money on my personal trainer and know that I can beat up anyone who says I don't look good enough as a normal, middle-aged woman!

BMI is an appallingly misused measurement. However, lowering the cutoff point for 'healthy' will not change anything except the number of people classed as 'obese' - btw, where's 'overweight' gone? - and won't catch the people whose body fat percentage is high, but weight is low, whilst mistakenly classing many whose…

That's just so incredible and inspiring!!!!

Can't be said often enough: wear what you dare, but PLEASE exfoliate your feet and trim nails.

OMG! You look incredible. What a gorgeous wedding pic. Really inspirational. Go for that bikini!

This!

You look fantastic! Congratulations on your success.

I've read some of this before, but THANKS for the reminder. I love celery! And I usually have some going bad in the back of my fridge. Gotta get it front and center. It's a fantastic snack.

Me too! Thanks for the tips. I get discouraged because I'm not sure I'm getting them right, and they don't seem to get easier.

My shepherd mix and hound mix love walking and running. They are sometimes hard to manage, so I do a mile or two neighborhood loop with them tugging every which way, then I drop them at home and go on my own run. One of them is aggressive and pulls towards all stimuli, the other is afraid and pulls away. You would think…

I do have better runs if I've eaten some quick carbs. I sometimes grab a tablespoon of raisins on my way out the door.

I know the feeling. It was hard for me to start, at about 250, but I did it, and it felt a little better each time. I started out running at 5 am in the dark, and now I keep doing it because I love it. You can do whatever you want, it's public space! Good luck!

I like hair. I figured it was a minority opinion, but didn't think it was quite that small a minority. Oh well!

Wow, you look awesome and proud and happy! I'm working towards a one-piece, think my bikini days are over as well. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
-
This. It was ok before, but it's way better now, and it's a much better work out!
-
You gotta start somewhere! Just try it, and think what a great feeling it will be in a few weeks when you remember back to the first time and celebrate your progress. Progress feels good!

I agree, life begins at 40! Enjoy your success. You look fantastic.

Just depends. I would never think of hair as a dealbreaker. My hair is fine and tends to look skanky when I let it get too long. I'm sure men could have the same problem. But you look great! You could post comparison close-ups of yourself short and long for us to drool over... :-)

Wow, that is an incredible story, well-told! You made me a little teary. I relate to those feelings. I'm getting ready for my first 10k in a month and every day I run I just can't believe this former couch potato fat slob is doing it! You are an inspiration, thanks so much for the encouragement!

Mashed baked beans?

4:30 alarm, banana and coffee, out the door for run by 4:50. I set more than one alarm. It really helps me start making good food choices for the whole day if I have already done the workout.

I'm with you! Going to tear it up this week!

Cute dress! I had that happen with a dress for a Christmas party. Unfortunately, by the day of the party the dress was too big! It was a problem I was happy to have.

There's clean, healthy eating... and then there's orthorexia.
