1. It's only been a month. Calm down! As long as you are averaging 1-2 pounds lost a week, you are doing good and you are well above that. The weight doesn't come off consistently. Some weeks you lose inches and not pounds and some weeks you get a drop. 2. I agree that 1200 is too low. Plus I looked at your food diary and…

Actually learning to eat in moderation made the biggest difference. Before I'd exercise a lot, but didn't watch my portions and couldn't lose more than 10-20 pounds and working out harder only caused me to injure myself badly. 80% of my weight loss was all about what and how much I ate. Oh, I didn't give up sugar totally.…

Aw, breathing is overrated anyway... Congrats! Keep up the great work.

Smokers, drugs and horrid grammar.

Well, you only have ten pounds to lose so it is going to be harder. It could be you are already at the right weight for you and don't need to lose any more. Perhaps instead of focusing on losing weight, you should focus on body fat percentage. Find out what it is and then aim for something in a healthy range. If you are…

Try using the app first and set your activity level to sedentary and try that for a while. That's how I started.

My biggest weakness? Me. I'm not terribly self-disciplined. I could have dropped the weight a lot faster if I had been, but I'm thankful that I found away to work around my weakness and got myself into shape.

1. It's only been a week. Give it time. Plus sometimes the change shows up in inches lost, not weight on a scale. I often do even swaps of fat for muscle and can go a month without a change in weight, yet drop a size. 2. With so little to lose, you have to be a lot more precise with your macros. I can't see your diary so I…

It's not a matter of being obsessive. It's a matter of prioritizing. I have a life and responsibilities as well as everyone else on here. But we don't allow it to get in the way of our health. Entering calories on the app while I'm eating doesn't take up any more time than texting a friend or checking and updating Facebook…

I have a cheat day once a week. I don't gorge myself, just eat my maintenance level rather than a weight loss level. I've only experienced weight gain afterwards unless I consumed a lot of sodium which is just water weight anyway that quickly drops off. I just know myself and that if I don't give myself some of the food I…

The only time I've ever commented on someone not being at the gym for a while, its been because I missed chatting with them. Otherwise, everyone there is more focused on getting themselves healthy than keeping track of your progress.

Maryjane - the kitty could be 8...

Me, too!

My advice: Chill the f* out! People get so uptight and upset if they don't lose the exact amount of weight they wanted when and where they want it. They want to be uber precise about how many calories they are really eating or stressing that MFP or the treadmill or their HRM or whatever isn't accurately calculate their own…

BMI wasn't even meant to determine a person's ideal weight anyway. It was created to be used to study a large group of people and find the average standard proportion. Then insurance companies adopted it and now it's used for something it's creator never intended.…

This is what helped me out when I first started: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/905540-newbie-starter-weight-loss-plan-for-people-50-pounds-over

Fage! I think it tastes better than either of those brands.

Because women's sizes are not standardized so there is a lot of variation. Plus your body type makes a difference. My friend who is slim with no curves is the same size as me, but my curvy butt can't fit into some of the same size 8s she wears though I can fit into some size six jeans that have more room in the hips.

Bump since I'm doing this in June in LA.

I used to be so insecure about working out at the gym and wouldn't go often even though I was paying so much for it. I was certain everyone there would think I was horrible for being fat or laugh at me for trying to workout. One day I got so nervous, I dropped a heavy weight on my foot, but felt so embarrassed that I kept…

It took me 20 months to hit my original goal weight of 155 (my old high school weight). (I started at 243 pounds.) I changed things up every thirty pounds - started with just counting calories, then added in regular cardio exercise three days a week and then started tracking my macros more and increasing my workouts to six…

You are awesome!! :flowerforyou:

Ditto. Plus the added bonus of a less crowded gym.

Thank you and congrats on all your hard work. Yes, I have a few pics up on my profile, but this one is my fave:

:flowerforyou: I often felt the same.

Argh. Found a typo. Fixing it here since it won't let me up there... 19 Months - I am now the same weight I was in high school, but I'm two sizes smaller!! 88 pounds total! I've dreamed of this for years, but never thought I'd be here. I should drop two more pounds to make it an even 90... 20 months - I started weight…

Thanks. Feel free to copy away. I know people have been sharing this with their families, friends, doctors, weight loss groups and more. This journey is not easy, but it is completely worth it.

Well, I work out six days a week at the butt crack of dawn. Some people call that crazy. I call it... Crazy, but so worth it! :)

Counting calories. I lost 30 pounds doing just that and nothing else. It made me realize just how much I'd been eating and start to realize that it's actually not just about the calories, but also the rest of the macros. I.e. I used to get these microwaveable lunches at we're under 300 calories and thought I was doing well…

I really had a hard time seeing the improvement until, at the 70 pound loss mark,I had someone take a photo of me in the same shirt and at the same location as another photo of me at my maximum weight (see below). That was when I finally realized how much I'd changed. I keep that photo on my fridge, at my desk at work and…
