Walking with groceries is a great weight bearing exercise. So good for you.

I was born and raised a vegetarian (no meat whatsoever, I eat some dairy). I've never found protein to be an issue. It is easy to get protein as a vegetarian. Protein is found in most fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Dark green vegetables are especially high in protein. Then there are always legumes. Regardless, US eats more…

Checking in at 209 flat today (down 1.4 from last time I checked in at 210.4! Finally broke through my stall. I was 217.4 on 9/1, down to 215, back up to 217.4 by 10/1; then finally down to 210.4 at some point; back up to 212.6; going up and down for two weeks. ARGH!!! Got my new HRM. Now I know how many calories I burn.…

I'd try a new matress or foam pad first. Also assume strength training will help. My triathlete son is 5% body fat and does not have this issue. My husband is only 8% body fat and does not have this issue.

I couldn't have said it better myself!

Proud of you for what you've accomplished. Proud of you for asking for help. Proud of you for getting back up everytime you fall. Now look at the food and speak your emotions out loud. I am tired, food won't fix that, rest will. I am angry and scared. Food won't fix that. How can I feel better? Right now, I'm upset about…

Unlike most folks on MFP, I don't have a problem with consuming 1000 calories per day under certain circumstances, namley because Weight Watchers (who have lots of doctors on staff and who don't want to get sued) take folks down as low as 1000 calories per day WHEN THEY ARE VERY CLOSE TO GOAL. It doesn't appear that you…

Sorry, I don't know. I just got one too but it has a chest strap, so I don't know how the other kind works. Keep playing with it. For my HRM (Polar FT) there is an instructional video on the internet and Frequently Asked questions that was helpful to me. Try looking that info up on-line. Once you figure it out, definately…

Oh yeah! - counter push ups in the bathroom - push ups before bed - crunches before going to sleep and when you wake up - releves when talking on the phone And my favorite . . . lots of sex!

You must have your setting on losing 2 lbs a week. Just change your setting to losing 1 lbs a week or something else. Eventually you'll need to further reduce to keep losing. That's where exercise comes in. Exercise and then you can eat more.

If you read the labels on both, the differences are very clear. Protein, sugar, fat . . . Both taste good, all things in moderation, but PB is the best bang for your buck.

You've got great answers here. Fyi, I bought a great scale from Amazon that cost $40 dollars plus tax or something. It measures body fat, muscle, and water percentage and is very accurate. LOVE IT!!! You have to program it and step on it without socks over the sensors. I love it for weight loss, my nationally ranked…

Thanks for sharing. Not sure of the why, but definately something to this (at least for a significant group of us)!

swimming . . . the best exercise EVER EVER!

I suffer from the same trouble. I can pee and go straight back to bed. A good suggestion is great music (this works for me sometimes). Another thing that works for me (sometimes) is deciding upon something that I actually love to do and allowing myself to do that in the mornings (either as a reward or just to get a jump…

My son is a nationally ranked triathlete (does that count)? Me, well I'm a triathlete wanna be. Not sure I'll ever compete because I'm not excited about open water swimming or pounding (I mean running), but I've got a long way to go before I need to decide. I currently swim a lot (in a heated pool) at the YMCA. All three…

Hi Fellow Hotties! I skimmed the posts and am pretty caught up. Thanks again to Jersey for stepping up and sticking with it even in the midst of personal challenges. I've been with the program daily and this challenge is in the forefront of my mind (and on post-its everywhere), I just find it hard to check-in when the…

Further, at the right time, you must clarify to sissy that you appreciate the thought but SHE MUST NEVER DO THIS AGAIN.

You gals are awsome!!! You gotta work it in cause being healthy and studying for exams is easier than being heathy and having a professional career and/or a family. So run the stairs every hour, do 10 jumping jacks when you go potty, reward yoursle for studying with healthy snacks and make healthy reminder flash cards too…

I've been chuckling for several minutes. This would make a great scene in a comedy show! Love the pregnant pause after your comment and before hers. Sounds like you were in the elevator with a group of zombies! So I guess you're going to be a calorie counting monster for Halloween!

My attitude on this topic has evolved as my journey continues. i think that we each need to figure out what we need and then search that out in friends. i think it helps to put that out there in your bio. the weight loss journey is so personal, emotional, and difficult. in my case, it is long too. so again, i see no right…

I'm thrilled for you and so proud. You're starting to live again!!!! Me too. :flowerforyou:

I told all my boys that chocolate milk comes from brown cows, strawberry milk comes from pink cows, vanilla chocolate swirl comes from those multi colored cows, dark chocolate milk comes from those very dark cows, and soy milk comes from light brown cows. They live in the city, what do they know. I have kept the lie up…

Thanks, well yeah, we're pretty awesome!

I workout whenever I can! Sometimes that is 4x in one day (like weekends = walk with hubby, ride bike with son, do workout video, and then swim at the Y). Sometimes once a day, often during the week. And sometimes not at all (since I'm a working professional with three boys). All movement and efforts are GREAT! Try…

If you are stuck, try something different. If it works, great. If not . . . go back or try something else different. What do you have to lose?
