I really applaud you for posting this topic. I'm sorry this is so hard for you. I'm so glad that you're being honest with yourself. What you are addicted to is salt, sugar, and fat. You are probably also addicted to chewing and swallowing. If you really want to get off the insanity path, I do think that in your case, you…

walking swimming TANNING BOOTH (always feel great after - don't judge me man!) pigging out (oh yeah, can't do that anymore) shower (I love my bathroom; makes me feel calm and special; it is regal :) playing with my kids talking/communicating with a friend cleaning and housework I LOVE sex, but not when I'm stressed . . .…

For whatever reason, I've rarely heard of counseling helping to improve a marriage. I've often heard of it pushing folks further apart, going on a long time, and then the relationship ending. If no kids involved, I'd save my money and time. Sounds like you are not in the best space at the moment. Maybe you can escape to a…

I'm not at goal but. I recently switched to maintenance (one week ago) because I am too overwhelmed at work and in life to diet at the moment and I don't want to gain any weigt back. I'll switch back in another week or so. It has been a challenge to stay within my higher calorie goal 1950. Other days I'm fine. I have had a…

Bump I want to know too!

I do both because I LOVE TO SWIM at the YMCA. I appreciate being able to get out of the house and I just love swimming. I also walk a lot in the neighborhood and may eventually start jogging. More than anything else lately, though, I've been doing home workouts because it is so convenient and I have been working LONG…

Probably will take you about 3 days to detox. Over those three days, you may need more sleep. And a pain killer if you get headaches. After that, you'll be just fine. Then slowly you'll gain more even energy. In the interium, apples and carrots are great and other sweet veggies and fruits that have a lot of fiber. If you…

I read that too. I don't have any experience with it, but I suspect there is some truth to it (along with tons of toning and great moisturizer and lots of water). Whether it will remove all loose skin, I don't know, seems unlikley in some cases. I'm sure it would improve all cases.

Breakfast is not necessary. Lots of interesting facts though: such as most obese folks skip breakfast. Eating a little something as soon as possible definately helps to maximize weight loss. But it is not necessary.

His food diary is open. He had steak, more steak, rice, peanut butter and so on.

I can relate to wanting to find internal strengh and motivation. Rather than jumping in and trying to lose weight when you're heart isn't in it, set some small simple goals, like logging everything that you put in your mouth and reading several success stories daily. The rest will follow in 3 days or 3 weeks. I promise.

Overeating and overdrinking and smoking, etc. are all addictions and all disorders. These disorders often lead to contracting various unwanted diseases. Regardless of the label, disorders and diseases are serious and require treatment.

I used to get that and I was iron deficient, along with calcium, vitamin D, and potassium. I recommend a daily multivitamin with iron and vitamin D. You can't go wrong with that. Most multi vitamins don't have potassium, so you have to take that separately. Example what you've been eating and your nutrients on MFP. Also,…

Wow, great thread! So many of my friends inspire me because they have lost so much, they are always there with an encouraging word, or they have had so many trials but they are still in the game. MFP FRIENDS ARE NEAR AND DEAR AND I COULD NOT HAVE MADE IT THIS FAR WITHOUT THEM! They have all helped me change my life for the…

Though I agree with what others have said (eating healthier, keeping sodium low), I don't think any of those things would keep you from losing weight (especially at the onset and at your starting weight). There are just tons and tons and tons of people losing weight eating all sorts of things and keeping their calories…

Look around, stay a while. Go easy on yourself. It took a long time to gain that much weight. It will take a while to get it off. The process works. Make friends. Learn. Have fun! We are a good bunch. Read the success stories. Lots of folks here have lost that much or more. You can do it!

The forum is something that you can look at when you have time. You can select topics that interest you and make friends with folks who make comments that you appreciate. I find that the forum helps me most in that it makes me feel like I'm not alone, because I'm not. It also keeps me focused on my fitness goals. Everyone…

Go easy on yourself, start with easier goals (like logging every day). Have fun, you'll learn a lot. You'll meet nice folks. You'll experience success. It works! I promise.

This site is the bomb! You are going to love it. And it is addicting too (in the best possible way).

I doubt he'll be interestd in counseling, but before you throw in the towel, I'd start doing for him, what you want him to do for you. In otherwords, I'd go overboard with sexting, and making romantic dinners, and walk out to make him breakfast on Saturday morning in lingerie, and initiate more often and do things that you…

This has not happened to me in the diet and fitness category (yet). I was talking about this dynamic with my husband the other day, because I know it is common. We concluded that we could not imagine anyone would dare to give me *kitten* about losing weight or making healthy choices. I have encountered this dynamic being a…
