I guess I take it for granted. Hubby and all three of my children (all boys) are 100% supportive. No crap in the house. Often someone to workout with me and lots of high fives. They are really proud. They are all thin. I'm the only heavy one in the house. It everyone wants to eat out but I don't have many calories left or…

Yes, swimming, or water exercise of any kind, like water aerobics, or just walking/jogging in the pool. It is so safe, relaxing, and stimulating at the same time. Getting in a pool always wakes you up and is a fabulous burn. Sorry to hear about your condition. I hope you are able to stabelize.

You can do cardio exercise as often as you like (but you don't want to do high impact, like running, too often, as it places wear and tear on joints). Thus, swimming can be done daily or several times a day whereas running is best every other day, etc. Lots of stuff that you can do at home. Running in place while watching…

I did Week 3, Day 1 yesterday: 19,24,19,19, max 40 (with a 2.5 lbs weight in each hand). I was UBBER sore after the fitness test on Tuesday, so my Thursday Day 1 was really a push to get started. I feel merely normal sore today, so I anticipate a solid workout tomorrow/Saturday. I'm so excited about building up my lower…

You are such an inspiration. Congrats on your wedding and being the beautiful bried!

^^^ This. Sounds actually like he wanted to really hurt you (and he found a good way to do accomplish his goal). He wanted to leave, he was unhappy, he is so low that he played the fat card. You must be at or very close to your healthy weight. Fat was not the issue. I don't know what the issue was, but it wasn't fat.…

Yesterday I took fitness test and did 95 good form squats with no weights. I am VERY sore today. I'll start on week 3 tomorrow and hope for the best, lol.

Based on the math, you should be losing about 1 lbs every 9 days. If that is not happening, then there is a problem. Generally the problem is overestimating exercise and underestimating what you are eating. If you have the tools in place such that that is not happening (HRM, food scale, etc.), then you may have gained due…

What works for me is logging every single thing that I put in my mouth. In my experience, if you do that for three weeks, everything else follows. The tendency is to only do so on "good" days. But when you see in writing what you are eating. You start making slightly better choices. Then you see a small result, then you…

I'd just try to eat smaller meals more often, such as 6x daily. Avocado is a good choice and protein bars (like luna). Look around for bread that is higher in protein. They make some nice spouted wheat. As you log things and experiment, you'll learn more about nutrition. Broccoli and brown rice (for example) is packed with…

As long as you've eaten 1200 calories, you're good.

I just left plus size hell and arrived at onederland (right before Christmas). You've come to a great place. I'll send a friend request. Be easy on yourself starting out. There are so many things to change. If nothing else, logg in every day and log everything you put in your mouth. Everything else follows (I promise).

Good job!!!!

I take a potassium supplement. But I've noticed that when I eat brown rice and beans I don't need it. Otherwise, I just don't seem to eat foods that are high in potassium.

You are doing GREAT! I appaud your efforts!!!! Stick with it! As long as you feel good, I'm not concerned so much about the number of calories as I am about muscle mass, loose skin, and sustainability. Folks on the biggest loser burn a lot and look and feel great (mostly), but they do a lot of strength training as well.…

Go to a used sports equipment store and buy a ton of stuff!!! We have a "play it again" store that has great deals!

I'm loving all these great ideas. Many thanks!

Wow, welcome to Onderland. I only just arrived myself (before Christmas). It is so darn wonderful!!! Many congrats on your improved stats too. That's golden. (Now put your scale away before TOM visits or you have a high sodium day. Weigh again in a month.)

You'd think I'd know as a life long vegetarian, but I have no idea. Will look forward to seeing what others post.

You are so so so motivating! Happy MFP anniversary! Please let us know when you reach your goal. Congrats on how far you've come. Can't believe it!!!

I did! I made it to Onderland by Christmas :) Wonderful feeling and sense of accomplishment. Here's to our 2012 resolutions!

I've read that it takes two years for the body to adjust after major physical change (like weight loss or having a baby). So I would postpone freaking out and definately attack toning and strength training. I've also heard that in lots of different exercises help like yoga, pilotes, and all those other toning exercises.…

So so so exciting and so proud of you! Wonderful achievement. Can't wait to celebrate with you!!!!!

There is this one friend who deserves my vote for MFP All Star! She's lost a lot of weight, but more importantly she has changed herself more than anyone else I know. She used to be a junk food eating, smoking, couch potato. Now she runs, eats veggies, and is a nonsmoker!!!! For a long time, she thought of herself as the…

All I can say is wow!!!! May I ask, did you belly ever fold over and hang above your thigh like an apron? Mine does and so I fear that no matter what I'll do, I'll need a tummy tuck. If I could look as good as you do in the 160 lbs shot, I'd be thrilled! WAY TO GO, YOU LOOK GREAT!!!!! Amazing, I'm so inspired!

When you were eating 5000 per day, you were slowing gaining weight (I assume). Play with your MFP diet/fitenss profile setting to discover how many calories you can eat to maintain your current weight. 3500 calories = 1 lbs, so if you want to lose 1 lbs per week, then reduce your daily calories by 500 from your maintenance…

It is just astonishing how opinionated folks are and how afraid so many are about eating too few calories. I'm 5'2" tall, 47 year old female, with a desk job. My healthy weight range is roughly 102-139. If I were to weigh 120 lbs before I turn 48 (not happening), my daily maintenance calories would be about 1250-1300. As I…

If only I could burn that many calories trying to get a cookie!
