  • Hi everyone, I just wanted to check in with a wonderful update to my coping with fibromyalgia and spine damage. As I've told everyone before, I have been suffering so much with these problems that I've had to take pain pills every 2 hrs for the last 15 months since my accident. A little over a week ago, something happened,…
  • I have a band that I sit at my desk with while it is around my feet and just do resistance exercises that way. My legs get pretty sore afterwards. lol
  • Today I started beginner's boot camp and OMG I felt like I wanted to die! I had to suppress the urge to puke for the full 45 mins and was ready to pass out 3 times. The spine area that was injured and focal point of my FM, C3-C7, was burning and shooting pains all up and down my spine. This was when I took 2 pain pills to…
  • Angel, I want to thank you for posting this topic. Since you first posted it, I had been thinking about it every day. In my previous post I mentioned that I used to belong to a boot camp and I recommended joining one. Well, I got back in touch with my old boot camp trainer recently and am going back! I'm still recuperating…

  • No you are not crazy, that is how I started my lifestyle change. To keep from having knee surgery I joined a boot camp to make my knee stronger and lose weight. Did great in the class and it helped me reach my goal of 85 lbs. When I did my boot camp, I did 3 days a week and double classes occasionally. I would then follow…

  • I concur with all the posts, eat so that your body can heal. Once you're healed, THEN you can worry about getting back on the fitness train. Your body will need everything you give it to repair all the damage. Just don't go out of your way to eat that whole Bucket of KFC or all the Ben and Jerry's in one sitting.
  • My favorite is a multi grain or wheat pita pocket with a couple thin slices of a beef roast, 3 slices of avocado, a tbsp of mayo with olive oil and a leaf of boston butter lettuce! These always stuff me up and are low in calories.
  • Thanks, as someone suggested I am printing this whole thread so that he can read it and see what is happening to him. As for a couple of things that were brought up. Yes, he was diagnosed with depression several months ago and yes, he IS on medication. As for other meds, they have him on Phentermine for weight loss and I…
  • Thanks for all the replies guys, it's giving me some pretty good insight. Now I'm the main grocery shopper but he will go out and get his own food after he cashes his check. I was very frustrated today when I was cleaning and found so much garbage at my desk that he has made his home and most of it is bags of Tostidos,…
  • Iluvwdw - My energy has been pretty much shot since this all started and I find that when I have a big workout day, I need a couple days to recover and have the energy to go at it again. This past weekend I walked about 10 miles at the museum with the kids, used the stroller for support and carried a towel with me since I…
  • To Arewethereyet - Thanks a lot, I almost peed my pants laughing at your elliptical story. I also have to agree with sexy genius about the swimming part. Some water aerobics would help in strengthening up your legs and swimming in general is a great full body workout.
  • Viviakay - That is EXACTLY how my days are! I haven't had a pain pill since this morning but now I'm wiped and need to sleep for work tonight. So I will have one for while I sleep so I won't be achy with not moving and then later tonight while I'm at work. That will put me at 3 for the day and only 1 since 6am. So yes, the…
  • Thanks for all the replies! There was a lot of good information here. I had already made some changes that were similar to some of them mentioned. I'm going to go into a little more detail on some things because I think there may be a bit of a misunderstanding here. Yes, I do have a severe form of FM. Yes, I'm on the…
  • Anyone out there? :drinker:
  • I can use a few more people. If it wasn't for the great friends who added me already, I probably wouldn't be on as much as I have!
  • Wow, I have to say that reading some of your posts, you guys are doing an amazing job managing Fm. Also congratz on being smoke free, cudos to you all. I've been dealing with this for almost a year now. Was diagnosed in Oct of last year and it started because of my car accident. Been having a hard time dealing with this…
  • I lost 85 lbs until I had a car accident last year. Gained 50 of it back but now working on getting it back off again and then some. So I definitely would love to target myself for 100 lbs.
  • Count me in! I haven't looked at my DVD yet but if there is a cardio day I can count my cardio for today.
  • Good goal to set! May I suggest, try looking for package deals through a bike shop. A good bike shop will offer bike packages that include a cycle trainer and computerized fittings along with other stuff like your water bottles, bike computer, etc. If you also shop around, you may also find a place that allows for…
  • Do you get the hungry feelings on a day of heavy exercise? I have issues of phantom hunger pains for up to 2 days after a heavy workout day. After that it goes away. If not, at least stick to proteins to curb that feeling. Nuts and greek yogurt are great for that!
  • Thanks for everyone who sent me the info for the C25k. I talked to my son about it and we're going to start it this week. Although it shows to only do 3 days of training, we may sneak in a 4th. My son has lost a lot of weight and really wants to start up the jogging so now I'm committed.

  • Thanks guys, it sounds like it's normal and should be happening. In regards to the questions about the water, I hate plain water and literally have force myself to drink it every day so I add some of my amino acid powder for flavor. Now if it's the 2 days after a big huge workout, I'm drinking mega amounts of plain water…
  • What I would have for breakfast is 2 eggs and half a cup of egg whites with 2 oz of spinach and 1 oz of cheese. If not that then a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese with 1 scoop of protein powder and 2 ozs of a berry fruit (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries). As one of the other girls mentioned, you should be eating some kind…
  • I've lost 85 lbs and have lots of loose skin and unfortunately, it's pretty obvious that I will need to get a couple of surgeries. My arms are more toned now but because I did so much work on them I developed super batwings that are nothing but a huge pocket of fat that the doctor has said I will probably not lose anymore…

  • Anyone have a copy of the training schedule for the C25k? My 12 yr old son has lost a lot of weight since I've started changing everyone's diet and now he wants to start jogging ang having me for a jogging buddy. I would definitely like to but I'm already finding that it's becoming a little bit difficult since my muscles…

  • When I was in boot camp to lose weight, our trainer tried to instill in us the importance of choosing the right protein powder. According to him, a Soy-based protein powder is usually used by people who want to put on weight and since it is vegetable based, it doesn't supply all the nutrients your body would need and takes…
  • I'm in, current weight is 310 lbs Being ambitious as I am, I am going to try and do 10 lbs a month. :drinker:
  • Thanks for all the cudos guys but with how rough my schedule is there are times that I don't deserve it. Alright, so sorry I haven't posted in a while but had lots of life come up. With it being summer and vacations at work in progress, this is the time of the year for me when I get to work a lovely 42-72 hrs a week, not a…
  • I bought one of those too for my abs. I have the worst muffin top ever. Since I've been using the wrap, it has come down tremendously! I would say try it out. For an investment of only $5 and the results, it is definitely worth it. Although I would recommend that you do not wear it if you're exercising in a high…
  • Turkey sausages are great but they do seem to taste a little bland to me. If you look, Jennie-O does sell X-tra Lean Spicy italians but they are hard to find. :)
