I think she's got it.

Also, this board is for Success Stories. Your post would be better received in the "Motivation & Support" board.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I made your cornbread muffins last night... my wife (who is the GF one) and I loved them! Thanks for sharing it!

2/1: 212 2/8: 209.8 Loss: 2.2 lbs

I do it Wednesdays for now... as of this morning down 2.2 lbs to 209.8!

I definitely went over today, but on a weekly level, I only missed my goal by about 400 calories. Great game, congrats to the Giants.

My body counts it, so I count it.

Active duty Air Force, 6 years in so far. I can pass my PFT, but that doesn't necessarily translate into looking professional in my uniform. I PCS this summer and I intend to report to my new unit looking sharp. Dave, thanks for putting this together. Moonseer & MKCSFX, looking forward to seeing your progress!

You look fantastic!

Many people experience large losses in the beginning for various reasons (water weight, more weight to lose, etc.). So yes, it's normal... just don't get discouraged if it slows down on you from time to time!

I look like a fool, but I wear swimming goggles.

Enlist your spouse and try to start getting the whole family eating better. You'll have allies instead of enemies in your weight loss battle, and you'll be doing your kids a favor by building a strong foundation of healthy habits for them!

Welcome Amber! Stick to your diet goals and I'm sure you'll see results... good luck!

In cases like this I just go with the uncooked numbers :-/

Any alcoholic drink is going to be empty calories, every gram of alcohol = 7 calories. Your best bet to keep calorie counts low is to go for low alcoholic strength drinks. MGD64 has, unsurprisingly, 64 calories and to my knowledge is the lowest calorie beer on the market. For mixed drinks, most of your common 80 proof…

Fact.

My goal will be ~7-9 lbs. When I weigh in tomorrow, I should be around 213-214. I intend to hit 205 by the end of Feb.

I know a lot of military wives use the time their husband's are away to get in shape... when you start to miss him, try using those emotions to pump up your workouts and motivate you!

Yes please.

Great job! How cool will it be to be under your license weight? :-)
-
That's great! So many people measure themselves only by the number on the scale. I find the inches are much more telling sometimes. Great job again!

Great job man! Good luck on the marathon next month!

I'm dying to try this one: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2008/03/split-peas-soup-with-ham-2-points.html#more

It was 29 degrees this morning. I found that a long sleeve technical shirt under a cotton t-shirt, a skull cap and shorts is what I prefer to run in when it gets chilly. I'm only cold for the minute or two until my body starts cranking out heat. Visit a local running store... those guys would be more than happy to show you…

I stopped going because even though I'd ask for the light mayonaise for my subs, they'd grab whichever mayo was closest to them (light or regular, as I stood watching) and just slap it on. Then when I'd try to correct them they'd make an excuse, pretend not to understand me (all workers are foreign-born at my local…

That ratio is what works for me... I encourage you and everyone to do a little homework and find out what a good mix is for you. With the marathon training, you may need more carbs than I do.

Opening up your food diary would make it easier to see just how much protein you're taking in. I too found that MFP was telling me I was eating too much protein until I did some research on macronutrient percentages as a daily goal. I reset mine (you can do this if you want in goals under custom goals) to 50% carbs, 20%…
