This is my go-to approach as well. Fellow MFP'r discjosh23 has a bunch of recipes and his low-carb chicken crust pizza recipe is my jam. It doesn't really taste like you're eating chicken - it's almost got a thin crust vibe to it. I highly recommend it!

Hey everyone, I'm training for the Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans marathon in Feb, and I'd love to see some other friends knocking out miles as well. Feel free to add me!

I've completed two marathons in the past (2010, 2014), although I had dismal run times for them. Now, I'm just getting started with training for my third (4 weeks in, 26 to go) and I'm making a conscious effort to try and improve my run times as well. Would love some mutual support!

If you don't get full on samples, there's always the pizza and hot dogs at the food court!

Checking out the free samples at Costco.

I have one, don't use it. As OHFLamingo mentioned, I find there simply isn't enough room under a typical desk to use them (and in fact, I'd consider my desk to be on the large side). My 3 year old, on the other hand, loves it (I hold her hands up so she can balance).

Not sure if you have them there, but I love Epic's Chicken Sriracha bars. 100 calories and 15g protein.

I had this for breakfast and it was fantastic: community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10545042/pumpkin-pie-protein-shake.

If your gym doesn't have a power rack or something to help catch the bar, you could try doing dumbbell bench presses instead. That way if you drop them they fall to the side rather than on you.

I LOL'd way too loud at that.

I just want to say I know being a military spouse is tough, so kudos to you!

I think that's why she said "probably". And it was my first thought as well.

Generally speaking when I'm trying to lose weight I tend to look for foods higher in protein and lower in carbs to help me feel satiated. As others have pointed out, it's (almost) all about the calories, so I echo their recommendations to get a food scale and weigh everything! I'll cut up an apple and weigh the slices,…

It looks like you also eat dried cereal almost every day for breakfast, with little to no protein to go along with it. Has your nutritionist commented about that? Do you feel like you're still hungry after that?

I'd love to have more friends to keep up the positive vibes. I'm not vegetarian, but I do enjoy finding good vegetarian dishes to rotate into my diet and would love to check out your diary!

Welcome to MPF! Lots of great resources on this website - feel free to ask around and read other threads if you have questions. Good luck!

You'll find a lot of stories on here about personal weight loss journeys. And you'll find even more people here who've struggled with on-and-off weight gain. My biggest challenge has been creating sustainable eating and exercise habits - it's pretty easy to lose weight when you're being strict about dieting and working…

I just got the new Samsung Gear Fit Pro2. Overall I like it - it's small and looks good. A few cons: It has been a bit flaky here or there, in particular it takes a bit of fidgeting right after I put it on to begin to track my heart rate, but once it acquires it I've been pleasantly surprised by its accuracy (measured…

Good luck! I try to pack meals with me when I travel (easier if I'm driving vs. flying, but I've also frozen meals and packed them in my suitcase on shorter flights). Try to eat something (ideally with a lot of protein) before you head out, and maybe you won't be so tempted at the dinners. Good luck with the open bars, I…

I'm hoping for a similar experience. I've been eating ~1340 cals (TDEE - 1000), but I do eat back exercise calories. I find that I'm hungry often and a little worn out at times, but not miserably so.
