Cooking while living in an extended stay/away at school?
Hey MPF'ers, I'm currently living out of an extended stay hotel, with access to a stove, toaster oven, crock pot and microwave as my cooking sources. If anyone else is in this situation and would like to be friends, I'd love to spy on your food diaries to get fresh ideas for new things to eat!

High altitude trip - workout lasting more than 5 mins?
I'll be heading to Colorado Springs for a 3-5 day business trip... not long enough to acclimatize but I want to work out while I'm there. My travel workouts usually look like a 3-4 mile run or 30-45 minutes on an elliptical depending on what the hotel has. It's been a few years, but the last I was in CO I tried running and…

Oolong kombucha?
I've recently made my first homemade batch of kombucha (from a green tea based kit I ordered online) and it turned out way better than I expected. I added in a blend of blueberries and raspberries (because that's what I had on hand) and the results have been delicious. I'd like to make an oolong based brew next. Are any of…

Just completed my first Whole30 - 11.8 lbs and 1.75" lost!
Howdy! I just completed my first Whole30 yesterday, and I am pretty blown away with the results. For those wondering, its similar to a Paleo diet focusing on avoiding foods that have a negative impact on your body (psychologically unhealthy, hormone-unbalancing, gut-disrupting, inflammatory food groups). When my wife first…

Knee pain... where'd you go?
Back in 2010 I thought it'd be a good idea to run a marathon, so I signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon in DC. I trained for months and months, and was probably still a little unprepared for the race, but the big day came and I completed it. It was a remarkable experience and I've often considered doing it again.…

Healthy snacks you can bring on a plane?
I'm taking a quick trip out to the west coast this week, I'll hardly be there a day before I turn around and head back. Any suggestions for good snacks I can bring with me in a carry on to avoid eating out while I'm there, other than fruit?

For those of you who don't like fruits and veggies, what do
I'd love to hear some recipe ideas from those of you who don't or didn't used to like fruits and veggies as I try to increase my consumption of these foods. I'll share a great recipe I recently found... http://bevcooks.com/2011/10/southwestern-stuffed-spaghetti-squash/

Getting back into it
Howdy, I'm Paul and I'm new to this site. I was into running a lot last year culminating in my first marathon, but I didn't train as well as I should have and it resulted in an overuse injury (runners knee). I took too much time off and let myself go a bit. Also, beer (particularly craft beers that can pack almost 300…

Poker night party snacks
I host poker nights from time to time at my house. They're not too serious, guys and gals alike come and it's more for the fun and socializing than the playing of cards. I love setting out food for my guests, but invariably it's calorie-loaded dips, brownies, etc. I'd like to include some light options as well. What do you…
