  • Soooooo.... everyone!? How is the shred going? I have yet to start back up, and I've been somewhat bad lately. Oops. Need to get back on the wagon!
  • I certainly say to suck it up, but I have a hard time doing so myself. The first few days of mine is pure H-E-Double. Then it's breezy. But, I am having difficulty working out AT ALL, my class is over after Weds so I will begin actually working out. I say, take ibuprophen or midol and push through it. Another issue I have…
  • Just bought me a pair of size 6 dressy capri type pants.. and they are even a little big. My problem is that my hips are always bigger than the rest of me.. and I am not actually working out right now, and once I do, they will get smaller. Good job everyone!
  • Congrats! It's such a great feeling to be in single digits! I used to be a 12 before I first lost weight about 6 yrs ago. Then I had gotten down to a 6/8.. lately I was pushing a 10. Now I have on a pair of size 10 that are loosey-loose =:) I want to get back into 6's- comfortably.
  • Anyone still doing the shred or gave it a shot yet? I have yet to begin again. School keeps me way too busy! I am taking some time off to gather my bearings and plan some of this wedding though. One more week and I will have at least 6 off, so I will do the shred then!
  • I got mine @ Target. The 5lbs were like.. $6 apiece and the 3lbs were like.. $4?? I forgot already but it's around that. TJ Maxx also sells some usually but the selection kinda stinks. You can also get the @ Walmart. They are in the sporting goods sections of Walmart and Target. Good luck ladies! I hope to get into it this…
  • Hey- sorry I just saw your message. Dumbells are probably best because you go from holding them to not holding to holding them, etc. I actually have to start again. I stopped after day 2 because I couldn't MOVE! lol.. and now.. it is just too hard for me to wake up early enough to get it in before work. Can we say…
  • It's a circuit training workout dvd by Jillian Michaels. While it looks easy, it isn't! It is a 30-day program with three levels. You can get it for around $9 at Walmart, Target or on ebay or amazon. You will also need 3-5 lb weights (5lb was too much at first so I suggest starting with 3lb) and a yoga type mat if you are…
  • Day two on the shred, level 1 with lighter weights for all but chest curls= not as bad as day 1. I actually made it through and didn't feel sick. But, it was hard don't get me wrong. Keep shredding!
  • Ohh!! Please don't give up! Being sore the next day is actually a good thing and will go away after a little bit. Feel free to check in here when you decide to give it another shot =:)
  • Well, it sounds like you got through with the 5lb at least! Great job! I could barely do that.. I was doing like half moves because I simply couldn't lift all the way toward the middle/end. WOW! I had all I could do to wash my hair in the shower.. lol
  • Wow- thank you for this awesome post! I don't even own a scale. I use the wii to weigh myself. I think I am actually going to buy a scale now though because it might be important for me to weight myself with a real scale once a week or so in the morning before I shower =:) Thanks!!
  • I will give it a shot! I am going to take my nalgene with me, filled with water. We are heading to Mobile for the day on Saturday so I know there is some fast food lunch and Ihop in my future! This is going to be my first family weekend when I am actually trying to be "good". Good luck to all!
  • Thanks for the Skinny Saturday Challenge! I will look into it. I can easily stay away from the chocolate though. I might make an angel food cake if his mom brings lots of bad goodies.. as she usually does =:) she's too cute. I would have the angel food cake with strawberries! Yum! Thanks everyone for the tips. This is…
  • This is great to hear! I just got my DVD in yesterday and will do my first workout on Saturday. P.S. your profile pic- that bridesmaid dress looks like the one I chose for my girls, and we're going to do fushia dress with a brown sash- looks like the opposite of yours! =:)
  • Ohhh! Ok well, Amazon is great too. I got it off of ebay but saw it on Amazon for about the same price but you have to pay shipping.
  • You've got that right. We separated our big pack of chicken out last night and one breast was 12 ounces!!!!!!!!!!! We cut in two!
  • Pasta with chicken cut up into it and salad. You can use whole wheat or whole grain pasta, which typically has fewer calories per serving. Healthy choice pasta sauce I believe is lower calories than traditional brands. Sorry, I am new to this and trying to figure out healthy meals still :)
  • Holy cow. 324 in one slice!? I can only imagine how many calories I was eating when I have digiorno three meat!
  • Hmmm... Well just FYI- you can buy the DVD @ Walmart of Target. It was $9 here at Walmart plus sales tax. I had ordered it online before I realized they had it here, but I didn't pay any more than I would have @ the store becauase of the tax I would have paid. But, the DVD claims to help you lose up to 20 lbs in a month.…
  • Hmm.. I used to use splenda all the time then I heard some bad things about it. But, I would really love to have coffee nearly calorie free. I'd still have to use creamer I assume because it's just a flavoring, and not a powder creamer type thing, right?
  • I think I would like to! I was going to start the C25k last year and never... got around to it. lol I tried running for the first time in a long time yesterday and had to walk half, if not more than half of my 1.2 miles. I'd like to be able to do a 5k- I was going to sign up for one in 2 weeks but realized there is no…
  • It is a DVD by Jillian Michaels of the Biggest Loser that gets really good reviews. I haven't received mine in the mail yet but I have heard it is good.. It is like circuit training and tones your body. You do need to have 3-5 lb weights to go with it, too.
  • Congrats! That is awesome! I need to measure myself. I just started 5 days ago and still haven't done so and really should so I know what I've lost aside from pounds. Being on vacation can make it tough to keep on track. My inlaws are visiting this weekend and I am not too sure how I will stay on track!
  • What I would do is get the ones that have veggies and pasta and add frozen veggies to them. I also would have a piece of fruit or a yogurt. You can also pre-make a salad for the day or cook up a giant veggie lasagna and freeze it until you need it. I'd separate it into individual portions and take what you need out the day…
  • I am going to join the banwagon here and say WOW! You look amazing!!!!! Great job and congrats on your success!!!
  • Popcorn shouldn't be bad. Just limit it a bit perhaps.. are you eating movie theater butter on a normal size bag, or are you eating a 100 calorie mini bag? That's what I eat.. in both butter and the kettle corn. It's a good snack and they are a decent size package!
  • How much time did it take for you to lose those inches doing those reps/weight?
  • I've always been told that for women it is best to do low weight and high repititions because you want to tone, not bulk up like a weight trainer competing.. if you do high weights and less reps you will gain more muscle but may wind up looking like a body builder. Depends what you are going for.. toning or gaining muscle.
  • If you are working out often you are probably gaining muscle. This will increase the weight on the scale but you are trimming down and firming up. I had lost 15 lbs a few years ago but had dropped 3 clothing sizes.. I was working out like a mad-woman so I had gained a lot of muscle. I didn't lose many pounds but I lost a…
