I would do what they recommend and not worry about it so much. It's only a few times a year. If your going over your calories for the day it's not going wreck all your hard work.

Do you stretch after your workouts? I used to hate it and thought it was stupid but now I might take 10 mins to stretch it helps soooooooo much!!!! Try that after you do any sort of work out and you should feel better. Or pace your self better so you don't kill your self trying. I feel better when I work out more times…

I try to pay attention to everything. If you are over with calorie and it's not that many, just do a quick workout or take a walk after diner (or whatever) and burn off the extra plus more. It might be good to make your food diary visible, then if you want, people can make suggestion to help.
