  • Ridiculous. The whole point is to eat HEALTHILY not just fill up on crap to boost your calories. Nuts are good. If you add some nuts or seeds to all your meals during the day or have a couple of snacks that should do it. i have 24 raw almonds and a small pear as a snack. That's 210 cals. Have something like that a couple…
  • I understand that i shouldn't go below 1200...and i pretty much stick to that with some going over a tad at the weekend...but if MFP gives me say. 500 cals for exercise should i then (even at 50% of my exercise cals) be eating 1450?
  • Exactly. Calorie deficit doesn't just work some of the time. If you are calculating it right it works all of the time. I love the bit where you say you even 'count your chips'. Maybe you should try eating 'clean' instead of processed rubbish. That along with a calorie deficit should help you no end :O)
  • I have a similar issue. But I have loads of fitness friends, one being Personal trainer of the year 2014 and biggest loser coach, Charlotte Ord, so i get some great information. Apparently, with alcohol it's not just the calories. It messes with your insulin production which makes you store fat and also the body will…

It will just make you less hungry so you will struggle to eat the required amount of food to lose fat. I would be more inclined to ask them to check out your thyroid than put…
  • Hiya. Firstly don't think of yourself as 'being on a diet'. This implies that you are being deprived of things which will immediately make you want them. For example, if i fancy chocolate I have 50g of 85% cocoa chocolate broken into little pieces with 12 almonds and a pear as a snack. 177 cals, protein, fibre and carbs…
  • You could try cutting down all that cardio and go for HIIT training instead. Also are you eating a lot of carbs? I find I am very carb intolerant and have to keep them to a minimum, no bread or flour based products, potatoes, rice, cereals ( except oatmeal). If you can't get your cals up or above 1,200, which with all that…
  • Reply to Fast_Eddie_72 about under eating. I eat oatmeal for breakfast and loads of fruit, veg, salad, tuna and chicken etc on a daily basis but because I can't eat bread, potatoes, rice and have quinoa for my carbs my total is easily under 1200 on a daily basis so I have to 'top up' with nuts and seeds. Sometimes i have…
