  • @Jigglypuff00 It'ssuper easy to make your own almond flour or almond meal! For almond flour, just throw some blanched slivered almonds in the blender; for almond meal, blend up whole almonds. I just use almond meal whenever a recipe calls for almond flour; it's just a little chunkier and has brown in it instead of pure…
  • Small world Don, I lived (and taught) in Fergus for a year. Wayyyyyy back in 1994/95. :)

  • Open to friends, feel free to add me. Just ignore today's entry! :P
  • I'm a blonde, have been all my life, come from a family of blondes, and gave birth to five blondes. I am intelligent, educated, and a teacher. I am not in the slightest bit offended by the "dumb blonde" stereotype and don't have any issue using it myself, and no, I don't have any poor self-image issues. It's also commonly…
  • I'm also new to keto and looking to lose 90-100 lbs. Feel free to add me!
  • Week 1 is finished, grand total 8.4 lbs lost.
  • Oh wow, I'm so excited I found this thread this morning (and that Longo'sjust opened a new store in my neighbourhood). Thanks to you guys, I just experienced my first-ever bowl of delicious, Cool Whey vanilla ice cream. What a treat!!
  • For context, I'm eating 1650 calories, so it's well above the MFP standard 1200. What is your calorie goal? Make sure you're not eating too little...
  • I'm on day 5 and down 6.2 lbs so far. I started at 20 carbs then upped it to 30 after two days and kept losing at the same pace, so I'm going to see how it goes at 30 and adjust as needed. For context, I'm starting from 262 lbs.
  • I really loved the program as well and felt great on it. Lost 24 lbs in 60 days, or something like that? It totally cleared up my psoriasis and my back pain as well. I just found it was far too restrictive to be long-term sustainable.
  • Ha, our bar was hung in the entrance to the girls' washroom! So whenever a fitness test was taking place the door was kept open and that washroom was not available for use. :) I am a December kid so I was the youngest in the class. I did well in some things (running and situps) and horrible at the push-ups and long jump.
  • Same starting weight and goal weight over here. Love to know your height...
  • My name is Chandra and I am sick of yoyo-ing for the last 20 years. Time to lose it once and for all! I am 5'10", 43yo mom of 5, started at 269, currently 262.6. Goal weight is anywhere between 165-175 (I'll decide when I get there) so I have 90-100 lbs to lose. :(
  • I'm with @middlehaitch. There is a noticeable difference between the two images, but I don't think the big hat in the second image is helping the look either. :) Two friends of mine, who were both large, lost loads of weight about 10 years ago, and I remember the first few times I saw them (I only see them a few times a…
  • Hey, thanks for that! I'm O-neg so my blood's in high demand and I donate every 16 weeks. So silly that Canadian Blood Services upped it from every 12 weeks for women. :( But I am a "difficult stick" so I shall have some extra sodium before my appointment next Saturday!
  • Judging by your hat and jersey, I'm thinking you must be from my neck of the woods. :) Good luck with your journey!
  • Is that supposed to say "skin on" rather than "skin only" ?
  • See, I had figured that, but the nutritional label lists one serving as 125ml, so they must be intending for it to be measured by volume, not weight. But then why am I getting only 13 servings instead of 16? Because I am really not squishing it into the containers at all...
  • But I'm really confused about this re: my frozen yogurt. A 2L container split into 125ml containers should theoretically fill 16 containers, yet I consistently get only 13, even though my containers are only 120ml and I definitely don't jam them full. Yet when I tried to weigh them instead, filling a 120ml container…
  • Well, I was already carrying an extra 35lbs, but on my 5'10" frame it didn't look too bad, but then due to a hugely stressful family situation and 2 new meds, I packed on -- get ready for it -- 60 lbs in just over 4 months. Still working on getting it off almost 2 years later. :(
  • I'm a homeschooler, and I have been very turned off by this conversation since the very first person asked "why homeschool?". Except I wasn't turned off by the homeschooling questioners, I was turned off by the harsh and combative responses of the OP. I'm sorry GlassAngyl, but this kind of behavior gives home schoolers a…
  • I am a schoolteacher who taught in private schools for five years before having our five children. The first two attended school for K-2, then we decided to try homeschooling for a year to deal with some somewhat minor medical issues our son was facing. We loved the experience and carried on for the next ten years.…
  • With my Fitbit Charge2 I start the "timer" (ie exercise/time/calorie counter) at the beginning of the exercise, stop it when I'm done Then when I manually log the exercise into MFP, I enter the time that I started the exercise (if your Fitbit is synced to MFP, you will get the start time option). This way the Fitbit…
  • @pielattes1 In your example above, you will definitely be in deficit! When you enter your info into MFP (height, weight, age, gender, activity level, desired rate of loss, etc.) MFP calculates a total daily calorie goal that should put you in a deficit. So if MFP allows you 1800 calories, that means that you should already…
  • Sorry, I meant to say 200, not 2000 (and anyway it should have been 300, not 200, so I totally messed it up!) :) And I totally read that wrong, thought she was saying if MFP , when including her exercise calories earned, allowed her 2300 calories and she ate 2000, would she still be in a deficit even if her original…
  • @pielattes1 Yes, you will still be in a deficit of 2000 calories. Do keep in mind, however, that the exercise burn calculations on MFP and some trackers are notorious for overestimating burns.
  • About 8 years and 80 pounds ago, I was at an amusement park when a whispering group of women approached me cautiously, and when they finally got close to me they admitted that they had thought I was Katherine Heigl. Huh?!!
