  • I've actually learned that you DON'T burn the same amount of calories walking and running. With running, both feet are off the ground at the same time when you're in motion. It takes more energy and effort, thereby burning more calories.

I don't have a HRM but did a good bit of research elsewhere to see what the average calories would be for run/walk and it seems fairly accurate.
