  • Wow...so much info here. And now I'm definitely overwhelmed. I did plug all of the info into my HRM correctly but what I've gotten from all of this is that it could be wrong. I'm going to try and use some of these resources to find out what my true MHR is and go from there. I guess I brought this complication on myself…
  • That was supposed to be a quote. May bad! Ha! Love that "wanna stop wanna stop wanna stop". Don't we all know that feeling occasionally? :)

  • I'm bumping my own post to hopefully get some more feedback.
  • I think there's a difference in support and unheartfelt commenting just for the heck of it. I had a MFP "friend" who would comment on EVERY SINGLE POST of mine. I was under my calorie goal for the day and I would get a WTG (so what if those calories were made up of a trip to McD's and enough sodium to fill the Dead Sea). I…
  • I was totally thinking the same thing! In the past, on the marathon episodes, they always show them training. But there's no way they could have gotten out there and done anywhere close to 26 without spending some major time on the road. I just think it was a poor choice on the part of the producers not to capture (and…
  • This is GREAT motivation! I'm your same height and I'm dreaming of looking like this in about 40 pounds. :)
  • Girl, you know I'm obsessed with the scale so you keep on being obsessed if you want to be! But I do agree that it's probably water weight. I do this, too. I have some really weird weight fluctuations sometimes with no explanation. Give it a few days, drink LOTS of water, watch your sodium, and it will come off.
  • Oops...sorry. I didn't actually answer the question. :) I eat whole, unprocessed, real foods for the most part. And very little meat or dairy (just my own personal preference). Lots of fruits, vegetables (fresh, not canned or frozen), whole grains, and beans (not canned). And I take spin class twice a week and run 3-4…
  • I've got it. It's hard whether you have PCOS or not. :) If you eat right and exercise, it'll come off. Promise! Be encouraged!
  • I do both. I have mini-goals (with rewards), a "I'd be happy with my weight" goal, and a dream goal. I just reached a mini-goal today actually (30 pounds lost) and my reward is a mani-pedi. Woo hoo! I need little things to keep me motivated along the way. I think your 25 pounds by Christmas is perfect!
  • I lost about 70 pounds 8 years ago doing Weight Watchers and all I did the entire time was walk. I think I was walking 4 or 5 times a week. It's definitely possible.
  • Ugh...I WISH I saw them on my stomach first. I definitely lose from my boobs up first. I can almost immediately tell in my chest, shoulders, and face. My stomach is the last thing to go. :(
  • Yay! I have a friend who just told me last week that she's doing it. I kept my mouth shut when she was telling me but inside I was screaming "WHY????"
  • Just curious, did he SAY that about the HCG diet or was that your editorial insertion? :) I love me some Dr. Oz.
  • Two weeks ago, my super cute, tiny, little blonde spin instructor (hate her, I do) was late to spin class on Saturday morning. She hadn't been to bed, was hungover (or possibly still drunk???), and still kicked our tails. Obviously, it CAN be done but that does not sound enjoyable to me.
  • I would wait. Maybe it'll motivate you to really eat healthy this weekend and work out. I was down a little this morning too (after a couple of rough weeks) and I really wanted to log mine too. But my weigh in day isn't until Monday and so I'm waiting. Although I'm not getting a reward. :) Just my thoughts...do what you…
  • I totally feel that same way! I will sit at my desk with it in front of me and go to town on the straw. I think it also helps me think. Hmm...maybe it keeps my food consumption down too since I'm chewing on that straw and not on actual food. Ha!
  • I'm addicted to spin, too! Definitely stick with it. I recall some pain at first but you'll be able to see changes in your strength and endurance really quickly.
  • I've felt like everyone responding here was talking to me, too! I had the exact same discouraging morning. I'm one of those girls that weighs every day and I was up a pound today for no good reason. In my head I know that weight fluctuates and to stick with it, but I think I just needed to hear it. Thanks for posting this…
  • Preservatives and anything else not considered "whole" when added to food greatly decreases the nutrients in the food. So, for example, fresh, whole green beans have 4 grams of fiber and 2 grams of protein, 15% of your vitamin A, 30% of vitamin C, 4% calcium, and 6% iron for 110 grams. That same amount of canned green…
  • My camelbak bottle is 24 oz and I count it as 3 glasses. It even has little lines on the side at 8 oz, 16 oz, and 24 oz so every time I drink to one of those lines I count it as one glass. By the way, I'm obsessed with my Camelbak water bottles. If you need a good bottle, I HIGHLY recommend it. I think they make me drink…
  • Oooh....good advice! That definitely kept me sane that first week!
  • Adding you! I can always use a good kick in the butt as well! :) Keep at it!
  • I gained a few pounds when I first started too. After about a week, I started losing again. And if I recall, I think that next weight loss was pretty significant. Stick with it! It gets easier. It's amazing how much stronger you feel after a couple of weeks. Good luck! :)
  • I thought this was a great post from the other day. It really encouraged me to not feel bad about not eating my exercise calories back every day. After experimenting, I'm losing more weight not eating them...for now at least.…

  • I log mine as spinning. It sounds like you've never been. You'll LOVE it! It's a little addictive. Bring a towel and water. I'm always drenched afterwards. Have fun and let us know how it goes!
