  • The things I see that I think you could probably work with are: Hoi Obb (mussels), Larb Gai (chicken), Moo Yang (pork skewers), Siamese Beef entree (OMG, sounds yum!), Deep Sea ... ok ... I'm stopping there, I'm getting way too hungry. LOL Anyway, looks like there are tons of things you can work with. Just order extra…
  • Hope y'all are doing well! Going good here. No cheats, but I have definitely been partaking in the allowance of red wine.
  • Day 1 complete! :)
  • My staples: Proteins - steak, shrimp, chicken breasts and thighs, bacon, ground beef, eggs, salmon or other fish. Produce - brussel sprouts, asparagus, zucchini and yellow squash, sweet potatoes, broccoli, avocados, cherry tomatoes. I don't eat much fruit. Pantry/Fridge - Coconut oil, olive oil, ghee, balsamic vinegar,…
  • Awesome! I can't wait to get this thing under way! :)
  • Sure, the document I have is like 3-4 pages long, but I'll lay out the specific rules for you that it included: Allowed: All meats, all non-starchy veggies, all fruits, sweet potatoes, squashes, nuts (except peanuts, they are legumes), seeds, eggs, ghee or clarified butter, 1/2 Tbsp of natural sweeteners per day including…
  • I'm a Paleo marathoner. The first week of my training was difficult but after my body adjusted and learned to burn fat for fuel instead of carbs I seriously felt like I could run forever. I started Paleo eating in October and since then I've PR-ed both my Half Marathon and Full Marathon times by a lot! ... So yeah, go for…
  • I'm most proud of my Half Marathon PR of 1:39:46 ... it took me 3 years of solid running and 17 Halfs to get below 1:40. I'm also proud of my 3:52 marathon PR also though, but man I worked for that half time!
  • Any of you are welcome to add me if you like. I've been Paleo/Primal since October, and stick to it pretty well for the most part. But I will warn you I have some very off days occasionally. :D
  • I cannot have nuts in any shape or form in my house. Chocolate of any kind is bad too. I've tried buying portion controlled sizes of peanut butter and the like, but I'll still eat 2 or 3 of them at a time during a binge. Honestly though, I still manage to find a way to binge even when I don't have my trigger foods, I can…
  • There actually is a "Paleo Meal Planner" if you really feel like that would help you. I'm in no way related to this business, but I use it ... emeals.com. They have several different options of meal plans and one of them is Paleo. It's pretty cheap too, and they give you a complete grocery list. I don't use it…
  • ^ This. Run the tangents, but your GPS is always going to read long on a certified course. My last marathon my Garmin said 26.56. It seems like a cruel joke, but its just the way it is.
  • I love the Practical Paleo cookbook as well. I think it is a MUST! :) ... They even have 30 day meal plans, several to choose from. I followed the one called Squeaky Clean Paleo for part of my Whole30. You can download the grocery lists for the meal plans on their website also which I liked.
  • Try a few things until you find something you enjoy ... for me its running, but I've also found that I love CrossFit, yoga, spinning and boxing.
  • Sounds serious to me!!
  • I didn't read all the responses, so forgive me if this has already been suggested ... but whenever our coaches tell me I'm doing incorrectly and I can't seem to fix it I get them or another member to make a video or take a picture of me so that I can visualize it.
  • You guys are welcome to add me as well. I started Paleo eating in November, did a very successful Whole30 and have recently fallen off the wagon a bit. Made some decisions and hopped right back on the wagon today. I log everything and have an open diary. I'd love to have your support and give mine :)
  • Any of you are welcome to add me. I've been struggling a bit lately, maybe it would help :)
  • CrossFit Intrigue - Wetumpka, Alabama
  • I have tons of recipes and pics on my blog, but here is a link to a collection of some of my foods I made during my first Whole30 in November. http://imgur.com/a/TKqrb
  • I like ghee for basting on chicken when cooking, like for the Mustard Sage Chicken Thighs from Practical Paleo. Its good for use instead of butter on baked sweet potatoes also. Anytime I would have normally used butter.
  • I also wore a HRM for a while and found that I burn about 350 calories an hour on an moderately intense WOD day. If I feel like the intensity was lower, I manually lower my calorie burn by whatever I estimate it to be. If we only did lifting or there wasn't much intensity I log it as only 1 calorie burned, which is rare.
  • Just did mine: Back squat - 135 Press - 70 Deadlift - 205 Total - 410
  • Buy the book Practical Paleo, its great, especially if you are just starting out. It has multiple 30 day meal plans and there are even grocery lists for those meal plans available on the website. I'm doing one of the meal plans now and it is rocking my world :)
  • I'll be doing these on Monday for a challenge that we are starting this week and then they will be reassessed in 6 weeks. Is there a certain order you have to get your values in? or can you do them whichever way you want? ... any suggestions on an order or do you think it makes much of a difference? ... I haven't done a CF…
  • Do you have time at night to make your breakfast for the next day? That's what I like to do a lot just because I usually wake up starving and don't want to wait to cook something. One of my favorites is roasted butternut squash (cut in chunks, roast in oven on 425 for approx. 30 minutes), then I cook up some pork breakfast…
  • Just reading this makes me blood boil because I've been met with all of these same arguments. Most people either think I'm completely crazy or absolutely Wonder Woman. People do get passionate about their food choices don't they? Me included :)
  • I would encourage you to read the book It Starts with Food.
  • My blog isn't strictly a CrossFit blog, I just recently started CrossFit back in September .. but I do talk about it a lot. I guess you could call it a running, CrossFit, Paleo blog. www.eattolivelivetorun.wordpress.com
