  • Why no more running bburg? I'm (almost) 15 weeks and I'm still running quite a bit. I did a Half Marathon last weekend. I'm having to incorporate some walking breaks now, but I'm hoping to be able to keep running at some capacity for quite a while. I am doing some elliptical sessions too, and its great so far.
  • I'm also due in mid-August (13 weeks today). Up until about 2 weeks ago I couldn't stomach anything other than junky carby food, which is normally not my style at all. I also didn't have the energy to cook often, so I ended up eating out quite a lot. The past couple of weeks I've had much more energy and a taste for my…
  • I just found out that I'm pregnant also, I'm a little over 5 weeks. Would love to be friends! This is my 2nd child, but first since my 100 pound weightloss. Hoping to continue eating healthy and exercising for the duration to not gain excessive weight.
  • Concentrate your meals on the cheaper Paleo items and avoid some of the higher priced things. Eggs are super cheap, so boil them for snacks. Eat them for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Chicken Thighs are much cheaper than chicken breasts. Chicken Drumsticks, cheap cheap cheap. Ground beef ... make meatballs, meatloaf, stuffed…
  • I agree with above. Trail running is significantly different from road running. I would suggest for your first full marathon that you do a road race and then progress to trail races. Travel somewhere close by (or far away!) for the experience, you definitely don't want a boring race!
  • I have never noticed anyone intentionally cheating at my box, but apparently it happens. There have been a few times now where the coaches have made statements about cheaters only cheating themselves, blah blah blah. Honestly, I don't really care what anyone else does. If you can afford to pay that much money to cheat…
  • On ramp usually refers to the instructional classes that most CrossFit boxes do for 2-3 weeks when a person first starts CF. At my box they call it Fundamentals. I never went through fundamentals though because I started CF when the gym first opened, so we all basically did fundamentals together.
  • I try to think of junk food as what it is ... junk. I try to consider the consequences of my actions before I act. Will I regret the decision to eat/drink this later? I don't do moderation very well at all, so my best bet is to stay away completely.
  • I'm on Day 2! Feel free to add me. I love seeing what other Paleos/Whole30s are eating. :)
  • My go-to tuna recipe is similar to yours with the capers. I usually do: 1 can tuna, 2 tbsp homemade mayo, 1 tbsp spicy brown mustard and some capers. I'm kind of picky about my tuna, there is only one brand that I've found that I like which is at Costco, the Wild Planet brand. All the others I've tried are watery to me,…

  • Eggs can be for dinner too. :)
  • Clearly very few people in this post understood that she's trying to stay away from artificial ingredients.
  • I'm a clean eater! I think the hardest part is getting going, once you get on a roll its easy. The first step is finding a handful of basic recipes and meals that you can fall back on. Learn how to make atleast 5 clean meals by heart and then branch out from there. Start with a recipe book if you are the type that needs to…
  • I eat about 400-600 calories for each meal. Sometimes on the lower end for breakfast and lunch, and the higher end for dinner. I eat clean whole foods, but my weakness is wine in the evenings. Those cals add up.

  • I honestly and truly don't understand how there are so many people on here that have significant amounts of weight to lose asking about making themselves eat because they're not hungry. Same thing I never understood way back when I did Weight Watchers when people would constantly say, "I can't eat that much food!" ... No…
  • I wore my HRM a few times to CrossFit and found that on average I'm burning 350 cals/hr so now I just log that each time I go and don't worry about wearing the strap. 350 might sound low, but remember that only about 20 minutes of it is heart pounding exercise. Works for me. Honestly though I'm getting away from eating for…
  • I agree with your Whole30, your rules. I'm doing a Whole5 right now to get back on track after a couple weeks of horrible eating, but even when I did a true Whole30 I didn't nit-pick too much. That's just stressful and I don't need extra stress. Things like worrying too much about oils that foods were cooked in (at home we…
  • I feel like the only Paleo person alive that can still eat PLENTY and is hungry the same as I was in pre-Paleo eating days. I've already had 1400 calories today and I haven't even had dinner yet. Do y'all exercise much? ... I'm just trying to figure out why I'm having a different experience with this than seems typical. I…
  • Love my 305! Been using that model since 2009 and I'll be so sad when it has to be replaced. I borrowed one of the newer sleeker models from a friend of mine once and really did not like the small screens and touch bezels. 305 is the way to go :)
  • Guilty. I'm so curious about other people and their eating habits. ... Reading this thread is making me want to go to the store for the sole purpose of looking in people's carts now.
  • I'm Paleo and an endurance athlete. I'm also doing a marathon in October :) I've done 2 marathons since I've been Paleo and PR'd both of them! For the first week of training I usually feel like I'm dragging and then once my body is used to running on fat instead of carbs I feel like I could run forever. If I feel like I'm…
  • I am the exact same way! ... There are 2 things in CrossFit, maybe 3 that I will never be able to do and have zero desire. Handstands (I get all starry eyed, blacky outty), box jumps on anything other than a small box (I do step-ups) and double unders (I'll keep trying on this one, but I think its kinda all for show .. no…
  • How's everyone doing? ... I'm going pretty strong. I did have one major cheat a few nights ago, my 6oz of red wine turned in to the whole bottle. Whoops! But my food has been on point. Went out to dinner at Bonefish Grill a couple nights ago and stayed strong and felt so proud. :)
  • I was too afraid it would take another hour! :P
  • Dinner ended up being a near bust last night. I ordered the shrimp plater with no rice and beans, only sweet potatoes and grilled veggies. My plate came and atleast 3/4 of it was covered in rice and beans :/ ... I had about 6 shrimp and they had a big dollop of sour cream right on top of them. I scraped off everything as…
  • Ooop, nevermind. Saw you don't want friends :/
  • I haven't been following it, but I probably should be ... I'm also a marathoner and about to start another round of marathon training. How's it working for you so far? ... Sending you a friend request.
  • Everyone still hanging in there?? Tonight will be a test of my willpower for sure. I'm going out to dinner for a friend's birthday. I've been browsing the menu, even though I've been there tons of times. I think maybe if I go into the situation knowing exactly what I'm going to eat I'll be successful. Take a look and help…
