I find the people who pretend to be military typically use the same lines and copy/paste information they find online. I get this kind of crap on my social media fairly often. This one was different. They mixed what seemed to be 2 ranks, but also info from 2 branches. *edited by a MFP moderator

Hello there! Mid-40s here. Feel free to add me if you'd like.

Hi! I've been somewhat introverted all my life, even more so after a relationship gone wrong. It's definitely easier to connect with people over the internet.

Ultimately the choice is up to the individual... with that said, there are some things to think about first. I know several people who have had surgery done for weight loss. A few of them now have more health issues than they had prior to surgery. (Heart problems being a main issue). Yes they look great, but there are…

Congratulations!! Awesome job!

I just bought the Polar FT4 last week. I like it. It's easy to use, easy to care for. The only part I don't like is that you can't link it to anything. So if you use the polarpersonaltrainer site you have to manually add your workouts. (the polarpersonaltrainer is totally optional to use). If/when the time comes where it…

A cougar is usually a 40+ year old woman who dates men 1/2 her age... just sayin' lol

Yep I am... my hubby is younger than I am.

I'm with Lula... I'd have to take notes and list usernames matched to real names lol Tues Goals Short term: *Drawing a blank* Long term: Continue losing (obvsly lol) Watch my sodium (hard to keep that low) Drink MORE water--haven't been drinking my normal 8 glasses. UP my fruit/veggies Eventually would like to be able to…

No one here either?

@Susan--My bad... you all may call me Dawn or YC. (my user is a play on words for: I am Yarn Crazy) @SkinnyJeansBound--So sorry about your computer. We've been having our share of "technological issues" here too. Between hubby's laptop dying and a broken tablet... Hope you can fix/replace or borrow one soon!! Testing (this…

It's been awhile since I've seen a post like this since Groups started. Idk if I'm even a part of this one so please allow me to do so. I am 38, mom of 2, needing to lose more than 100 lbs. I have been a member of MFP for almost 3 years. I had initially lost 75 lbs within 8 or 9 months. And then I had experienced some…

OP is probably figuring on the 3500 calories = a pound; doubling it, so 7000 calories is 2 pounds for the 2lb per week burn.

I was slightly overweight during my high school years, even though I participated in sports. No more recess so sports was my only physical activity. I used to eat a lot and gained a bit more weight. As a young adult I was in a relationship that went to hell (I was abused) and I used food to comfort myself. After that…

I'm from West Michigan (Muskegon area)--but transplanted in NJ 4 years ago. =/

38 mom of 2, need to lose over 100. Feel free to add if you'd like.

I am a SAHM of 2--have been for almost 9 years. My hubby hasn't had a problem with my choice to be. BUT... I am wanting to start my own business so I can help supplement our income.

38/married/mom of 2 originally from MI, transplanted in NJ I love to encourage my fellow MFP'ers. Add me if you like. =]

I hadn't found MFP at this time, but when I was pregnant with my daughter (now 6), I was borderline gestational diabetic. The nutritionist told me to CUT OUT EVERYTHING containing High Fructose Corn Syrup...... Do you know how much food has that garbage in it?! Not just juice, pop/soda... but breads, condiments,…

I'm from Michigan (transplanted in NJ now though). I'll be 39 this year so I understand where you're coming from. A lot of it is our mindset (imo). I know we can't always be happy go lucky all the time, but changing our outlook on things can make a difference. Try to surround yourself with positive, motivating people.…

^That's me^ Ever since I was little (wasn't overweight then) my ankles snap when I walk. Can't hear it when I wear socks & shoes though.

I have to agree. I too have struggled with depression. Simply saying "kick negativity in the @ss & be happy" is not always a possibility with everyone who suffers with the "illness". Being positive is a choice... but dealing with A LOT of negativity in life throws some people into a downward spiral that no amount of…

Hello... I've been around about 3 years and lost 75 lbs in roughly 7 months. After some negative circumstances (being sick for 6 weeks) and dealing with asthma I couldn't exercise. When I got through that mess I made some bad choices and gained some weight back. I'm 5'7" and started MFP at 385 lbs. When the new year…

Nope you're not the only one to find it a little odd. Is the incentive just so he can help his wife or is it a selfish thing on his part because he doesn't like the fact she's gained some weight.

I am a Michigander (from Michigan) transplanted to southern New Jersey

Definitely test. I'm a mom of two... my first tell-tale signs were tender breasts. Some may argue that it's impossible, but I KNEW that I was prego (with both pregnancies) before taking a test. There was no immediate noticeable change with my body, I just knew. Then came the nausea... thankfully it wasn't full blown…

an application?! and here i thought everyone was doing away with paperwork... or is this just more 'red tape'? *sigh*
-
Yep... I started @ 385. Lost 70-ish but after some stressful circumstances I gained some back. Getting back to working towards my goal. Sometimes I get depressed or mad at myself, but I have to remember to KEEP ON KEEPING ON. We CAN do this!!!

I would think with the amount of work and information put into fitness games (Wii Fit Plus for instance) there must have been some studies done and they would know something about the body and how it works. I'm not trying to be snarky, you may be right, but so might the info I have suggested. Not everything works the same…

Depending on your age, it could be a number of things. 30 your metabolism starts to slow down. late 30s/early 40s--perimenopause (pre-menopause) late 40s/to mid 50s--menopause are you logging EVERYTHING? Every late night snack, possible binges etc. Are you eating past 9pm? (According to Wii Fit Plus--foods eaten after 9pm…
