  • I've had them and I'm still having them. I was sleeved on May 19th. I'm down 30lbs and while it's fine--I have discovered the love affair I had with food. I felt like I had no friends and I didn't want to do anything because everything revolved around food--let's go for drinks--let's go to happy hour--birthday dinner…
  • i'm 5 weeks post op and the naseau has calmed down slightly. I don't throw up but it just feels like my tummy is turning and turning all of the time. I hear it will eventually pass so let's just be patient! :-) I've been only eating soups and popsicles.
  • I am happy to report that after a full week of feeling "ughh" in the tummy and with it turning and turning, causing me to sip broths all day just so I didn't make it feel any worse... I mixed 2 tbls of honey and a few splashes of vanilla into 1 cup of fage greek yogurt..put a few tablespoons on top of my pineapple tidbits…
  • I'm still on the chewables by celebrate. They're all yucky to me.
  • 1 month post op visit today--- down 23lbs--blood pressure is great and blood sugar levels are great. I have to follow up with my PCP to see if I can stop taking the blood pressure meds and the insulin (even though I've already stopped and I had great numbers today.) The naseau and vomiting may be coming from the actigall…
  • I took 3 weeks at the advice of a friend who'd had the surgery. I've been back at work for a week and I'm so exhausted when I go home. I take my vitamins, sip a little broth, drink a water, take a shower and head to bed. I'm very tired when I get off. Last night I went to bed at 8:45 pm. I'm usually going to bed at 10 pm.…
  • Thanks all. Week 1 back at work wasn't so bad. I was extremely exhausted after work where I would just come home, eat a little bit--sit up a while and then crash. I would be in the bed before 10 pm (my normal bed time is 10 pm). I stuck with fish and spinach for lunch--then tortilla soup and chilli from local restaurants…
  • Which flavors do you like? I tried the orange one and I almost gagged that it tastes so awful. I was so sad too because I was expecting that to get me to my max for each day but it just tasted awful.
  • I went back to work Tuesday and I am EXHAUSTED as well. I mean I go home, take my evening vitamins, eat something, sit around a little to drink a cup of water and then I crash! I have my post op next Thursday, the 19th.
  • I'm in Houston as well. I'm still at a stall and I'm on regular foods. I'm still at 20lb lost but hoping it will get kicked in the butt with a little more walking.
  • I was told that I only needed chewables for the first month. I'm glad it's only one month because they are becoming unbearable to chew..they're just yucky..the only one I may stick with (I use the celebrate line of bariatric vitamins) are the b-12 sublingals. I need to find the chewable calcium and I'll go back to my…
  • It's probably from the fat in the salami if you haven't had fat for a while. Good luck on your surgery! I was sleeved on May 19th.
  • OMG!! You all have been so helpful! I'm sipping on water right now! lol Thanks for your thoughts--I really thought I was going INSANE with my B.O. lol I'll check out the shakes you all mentioned as well. I'm on regular foods starting today so I've planned to have an omelette for breakfast, one of those isopure protein…
  • It may have to do with the tube that is pushed down your throat during surgery. My mom said my surgeon told her that it was difficult to get it down my throat cause I have a small mouth. I think they give it you because your mouth is opened for a long time and your lips are stretched whic can cause chapped lips. Those are…
  • Anesthesia makes me a real commedianne. lol When I woke up in recovery--there was one nurse on each side of me, holding my hands. I felt like i was in shock and i said to them, "Is it time?" They said, "Time for what?" I said, "Time to go to surgery?" They said, "No mam. You're in recovery. Surgery is over!" lol and the…
  • My surgery was May 19th. I brought a night gown (which I had the nurse put on me the following day--I stayed two nights), a robe, slippers, my phone charger and my phone. That was it. I knew I wouldn't want to read anything or do anything. My nurses gave me chapstick so I didn't need to bring that. Oh and my toothpaste and…
  • Congratulations! My surgeon took me off the htz while I was in the hospital and put me on the regular lisinoprel which I swallow whole. I'll be glad when I can give up a prescription! lol I'm only two weeks out from surgery and down 20 lbs. I have my first post op monthly appointment on the 19th. Be happy...water goes…
  • May 19th was my sleeved day! :-) I'm on pureed foods right now. I'm still trying to get all of the water in right now which is a tough one for me as well. I think I do well to get in about 32 oz. I was out all yesteday and I was totally winded. We had to stop at Barnes and Noble to take a break. I sipped my water while my…
  • I was sleeved last Monday---nothing to eat that day. Started clear liquids last Tuesday and Wednesday when I got out of the hospital. I had a hernia repair in addition to the sleeve. I did full liquids until yesterday and started pureed foods today--it's been mashed potatoes, yogurt and apple sauce for my memorial day! :-)…
  • and then i realized that i didn't take my januvia yesterday because I was out..so this is my fault. I have to pick it up today after work, so I had to stop today's stuff. I'm going to get back on it again tomorrow. All I want is water and soup today anyway. My stomach still feels queasy.
  • It was an AWFUL day. I'm diabetic and my sugar dropped too low. that has to be what happened because I was clammy, weak, it was a mess I threw up at work--had to leave--and spent an hour and a half trying to drive myself home-pulling over twice to throw up again. My commute is only 30 minutes. I got home last night, ate a…
  • 4 meal replacements and 1 300 calorie meal--it's 1,000 calorie diet.
  • thanks for that tip! I'm on day one of pre op and I'm starting to get a headache!
  • So glad to find you folks! My date is may 19th and I'm on day one of the liquid pre-op diet. I'm actually getting ready to take a nap because I have a headache. Can't wait to discuss with you all my experience. It took a diagnosis of diabetes---6 months on meds for it and it continued to spike--even with diet…
  • Ok so this is like CRAZY.. I don't even need to introduce myself because you've introduced me by introducing yourself! :-) I have RIPPED as well and I planned on starting it tomorrow morning! Are you going to follow the meal plan as well or will you just change your eating habits? I'd love for us to help each other because…
