Exciting!!! Tomorrow the next step of your journey begins. :flowerforyou:

Congratulations on the date. I know that when I got my date, my best friend of 40 yrs, was not thrilled with my choice. During a very honest conversation during my "last meal" yesterday, her fear was finally verbalized. She is even more overweight than I am and we were partners in eating. She didn't want to be by herself.…

Fantastic - this is very inspiring.

I should clarify that the foods I can eat during the 2 weeks is a very short list and I will follow my surgeons directions precisely. Each of our preop diets has been designed for our particular bodies and circumstances, as you can see by the vast array of eating plans for those two weeks.

I think that depends on your surgeon. I had my preop consult last night and must admit I was pleasantly surprised with what my 2 week liver reduction diet will be (which I start on Monday). It is much more liberal than I had expected and there is no "prepared" foods. I had expressed to my surgeon and his team at my initial…

Congratulations on putting yourself out there, taking on the challenge for yourself. In the process you also were a positive role model to your students.

Congratulations!!!! It is very exciting, but scarry at the same time. I received my call yesterday from my surgeon that my sleeve has been approved. My surgery date is July 1. If you are interested, please feel free to friend me. Since our timelines should somehwhat coincide, it would be nice to embark on this journey with…

I have been doing this for a few years since I don't like mayo. I actually use 100cal pack of guacamole.
-
Very glad to hear you are doing well. Hope your tummy grumblings subside soon. This is the first string I have heard them being mentioned - so it is good info to know as I anticipate a surgery schedule date. Look forward to hearing about your progress and experience.
-
I have been apprehensive so far, but it has finally clicked and I am now mentally ready. If all goes well, I hopefully will be having my procedure the beginning of July - I need to schedule around some work committments. Feel free to add me as a friend if you want.

I am also just about through with the process. Everything has been done. My PCP gave her blessing, but my surgeon is still waiting for the letter from her so he can submit everything to the insurance co. for approval. Nail biting time for me. I, too, was reading that that thread on if the surgery is "cheating". Only read…

I was diagnosed with Hashimotos last year - after referal to numerous specialists for various symptoms over the past few years. Before that my gp just said my thyroid was hypo and put me on levothroxine 50mcg. My endo took me off this and put me on levoxyl because unless you take the same manufactorer of levothroxine…

I have the same problem. So I put myself out there by signing up for a Challenge that has a team approach. This requires me to be accountable to others and their advancement will partially rely on my success.

I have suffered with binge eating for many years. One of the major triggers for me was fatigue. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos a few months ago and now I understand some of the things going on in my body and why I am so tired, Since the diagnosis I have been able to concentrate a little more on my eating habits. The point…

Please count me in. Could use some motivation about now.

Good job. Having the right things in the house is the best way to start.

Thanks for the time and effort put into the research and explanation. After doing all the inputs and calculations I came up with a BMR of 1725, a TDEE of 2252 (slightly active). deducting 20% I get 1802. If I understand this correctly, this means I shoud eat 1800 cals daily and any "normal activity" cals earned I do not…

I love chia seed and add them to my smoothies and greek yogurt. Have not tried to make pudding. Thanks for the recipe

I spent a lot of time in the contemplating stage. While doing this I went throught the entire process of consultations and tests my surgeon requires. Why not - my insurance pays for it and I would just be that much closer if I decided to go ahead. Yesterday I finally made the decision to move forward with getting the…

Reading all the various pros/cons, successes/problems has been a hug help for me. I am in the process of being approved for the sleeve. Although much time has been devoted to research on the best procedure for me, personal accounts are very important. I am the kind of person that needs to hear not only the good, but the…
