  • Hi Crystal. Best wishes on your information journey, whatever you decide. I was sleeved on July1. I had many doubts, even while I was in preop waiting for my turn in the OR - down to an anxiety attack. Thank God for an excellent surgical team that were very compassionate and helpful. It was the best decision I ever made.…

  • We can all use that. I had my sleeve on July 1. Was doing great, but fell back into some old habits this week. Learning it is just a tool - no the cure. Feel free to add me as friend if you would like to. You will find lots of support and help here. Teresa
  • Sorry to hear about your delay Becky. Pray all goes quickly. It will be worth it.
  • Glad to hear you are doing so well.
  • Glad to hear it went ok and you are home and resting (but not too much).
  • I am a newbie, having had my sleeve on 7/1/13. My highest weight was 232. My official start weight from my preop apt was 221, and I am now down to 189. My surgeon would like to see me get down to 130-135. My biggest fear (besides throwing up) is to go through all this and then a few years out to slip back into old habits…
  • Congrats to you for taking on this task. It will help you while you are giving back to others. I have only participated in one challenge with not too positive result. This was before I had my sleeve. It became extremely competitive and I could not keep up. I would be very interested in participating in a challenge that is…
  • Welcome and best wishes as you work through the stages. I am 5 weeks post sleeve. Feel free to add me.
  • Welcome litenairee and karmahealer. I wish you both the best on your journey.
  • Sorry to hear you are having some difficulty. Call your dr in am. My dr told me call if anything ever does not feel right. Better to call and it be nothing than not to call and end up in ER.
  • I never used a food processor. My post surgery plan was 2 weeks of what they called liquid but included yogurt, crème soups, pudding, jello, protein drinks. The next two weeks was pureed (baby food consistency) and I used an immersion blender or my ninja for this. After that was soft foods working into all foods. Honestly,…

  • amazon also has mini loaf pans - I just ordered it and am waiting for delivery
  • I am one month out. Although I have not hit a stall yet, I anticipate it coming soon. From everything I have read, our bodies sometimes need to take a "breather" to get accustomed to the weight loss and may not let some weight go for short period of time. Just keep doing all the right things, and I am sure your scale will…
  • I am only 1 month out - so not sushi for me yet. It was a once a week meal for me, so I cannot wait to be able to have it - many months from now I am sure.
  • As others have said, it does get easier. I was sleeved 27 days ago, and get to start on food I can chew on Monday. At first I was grateful to get 8oz of water in and felt like all I was doing was sleeping and taking vitamins/drugs. 2 tbspn of yogurt was a chore. Each day got easier and I was off pain meds after 6 days. I…
  • Good luck - the journey is amazing.
  • I have found the Unjury unflavored to be a big help. I add to coffee, vitamin water or tea, and as stated before their website has recipes to add to jello and pudding. Just be very careful and follow the temperature guidelines so it does not curdle. I also add chocolate powder if I have oatmeal or cream of wheat. I add…
  • Welcome. Congratulations on your decision. I had my sleeve on July 1. It is definitly ajourney of self discovery. Enjoy the ride.

  • I am 3 weeks post op, on pureed diet. And my tummy rumbles alot too. Not quite sure if it is always hunger but there are times when i am truly very hungry. I thought the hunger sensatiin would go away for some time after surgery.
  • Glad to hear you are home and feeling well.
  • Glad all went well and you are feeling ok. Rest for a few days, but don't forget to sip and walk. It really does work!!!
  • Once I made the decision I was pretty calm, until I was at the hospital and in my gown waiting. There were some scheduling issues in OR, then my surgeon had an emergency. I was scheduled for 8am, but now it was looking like I would not have surgery til 1 or 2. I was taking this a sign that maybe I shouldn't have the…
  • Congrats on the countdown :) My surgeon has me taking Flintstones complete 2x day which were pretty cheap at Sams club. For calcium I am just taking TUMs 1000 2x day which I was a able to pickup when Target had them buy 1 get 1 free. For B12, I was able to get 1000mcg in a lozenge that melts in my mouth from Rite Aide…
  • My plan is: 2 weeks liquids 2 weeks pureed 2 weeks soft 2 weeks of slow intro of solids with soft By 8 weeks normal (but obviously smaller portions). Of course if this can be tolerated. Dr. Says some people may take upto 12 weeks to get here I bet we will see that our postop plans will vary just like our preop plans do. I…
  • I too had the same cycle with fears. It took me 6 mos to make the decision. Even during my 2 week liver reduction diet I contemplated backing out a few times. I was scared and was listening to people who had not gone through the extensive research I had done before making my decision. I had my sleeve on July 1. There was a…
  • I had my sleeve on July 1. The liquid phase stinks, but is a necessary part. It does go by fast. Must admit I am sick of yogurt - lol. congratulations on your decision to take control and best wishes as you go through this journey with us. I have sent you a friend request.
  • I was so glad to see this discussoion. Today was my first day eating/ drinking after my surgery on Monday. This is much more difficult than ithought it would be. I was a 12or so cup a day drinker before surgery, so only getting 3 cups in today(not including my protein drinks) was odd for me. I too am afraid of ending up…
  • No mattwr what plan your individual surgeon uses, it is not easy. But vital that you follow directions to the best of your ability. I did use Unjury. The only issue was i thought it was a little sweet. If you use the unflavered in broth or tea, make sure to follow the temperature guidelines otherwise it will lump and…
  • I sent you a friend request.
  • Congratulations on having a scheduled surgery date.
