This is amazing....I often look at other overweight people and guess which ones I look like...when I put in my height and weight on there, I was like...*no way do I look like that!* ...so maybe my husband IS right when he tells me I look better than I think I do. (Don't tell him I admit he is right though....LOL)

I just bought Asics 2160's and I love them...I got them about 6 weeks ago, and they were comfortable right out of the box for a 3 mile walk. I usually do a mile at first with new shoes to make sure I won't have any issues, but these were fine. I do notice very slight pinching on the inside of my heel when I hit 4 miles a…

This is awesome!! I would be so encouraged myself!

Wow...sadly I can tell by reading these comments exactly who has children and who does not. I have three kids...10-17....all went through a chunky stage, all were taught how to eat healthy, as best as I knew...and my ignorance took a while to be corrected. Please give parents a break...yes many have bad habits and do…

Mine is pretty much this!! I add a little vinegar if I am in the mood for more zippy...and occasionally when I wanna be fancy or make it a meal I add white corn, black beans, red pepper and avocado. My favorite investment was the Tupperware Quick Chef. Throw in the ingredients just quartered (tomatoes and onions) and it…

You are beautiful!!! Thank you so much for sharing your photos and story...I have 51 pounds to go out of my original 86 and I so appreciate seeing success stories like yours. It gives me the motivation I need to get through another week. I hope I look half as good as you when I get close to my goal! (I love the blonde on…

I try to have cheat days...but when they roll around, I can't finish my meal and I don't go over by more than 50 calories anyway. LOL

My husband hates salad too...but he also likes v-8 like you...one easy meal that helped him keep on track is a bunch of frozen veggies (whatever you like...peas, green beans, carrots, etc) ground turkey and v-8 juice for a quick, low-cal, filling soup/stew depending on how thick you make it. He gets in a lot of veggies, and…

My latest *mistake*...more like mistake for listening to someone who doesn't care...was at Caribou the other day. I usually get a Northern Lite Latte (90 calories)...and I asked how many calories were in the Skim Mocha, and the lady says, "Ohhhh, maybe 30 more than the Northern Lite." Yeah right. I believed her...ordered…

My favorite sweet dressing for spinach salad (with craisins and almonds) is about 2 oz of cider vinegar, a Tbs of olive oil, a tsp of of Truvia, a little squirt of almond extract and some poppyseeds. This is truly enough for a whole bag of baby spinach...3 big salads. I have a collection of flavored balsamics and olive…

Single Ladies; Beyonce - and I am not even single...it's the whole *put yours hands up* thing. Old Pop in an Oak - Rednex I'm on my Way - Proclaimers A weird mix but these three will get me movin' when I don't feel like it!

I had a similar starting weight and I am at 1300 calories. I eat less than 20% processed foods, and I exercise around 1500 calories per week...I rarely eat more than a third of those calories back. I have averaged 2 pounds a week loss. I do notice if I have a rough week and eat more processed foods, or less fruits and…

Awesome!! Thanks for the tips!! I have been sticking to 1300 calories, and lost 15 pounds in a month (after almost a year off) but nothing in the last week! The sodium might just be my problem. I am working out fairly similar to the program you stuck with. It's so encouraging to see your results! :) I appreciate you…

I had gastric bypass 8 years ago...lost 106 pounds in the first year...and slowly over the next 7 years gained 54 of it back. OVER HALF! Now I am doing it the right way with diet and exercise. I never changed my lifestyle, and though I am happy about the 50 pounds that are still gone, I didn't need surgery to force me to…

I don't have any trouble staying under 1290...in fact I sometimes have 2-300 calories left in a day and have to find something to fill it when I am not hungry. I agree...it's the type of foods that make a difference. Cut out any non-essentials like mayo and butter and never drink any calories. This leaves room for more…

I seem to be with the majority...I would (AM!) doing it too. I actually lost 100 pounds with gastric bypass 8 years ago and promptly gained half of that back. Now I am 1/4 of the way to my goal doing it the right way and fixing my whole life. I asked my doctor at the last appointment if there is anything I can do to help…

Do you have a friend who is also watching what they eat? This has been my lifesaver when we do girls night...she and I split a meal. Not only does it cut the calories in half, but the bill is less too! It's a win-win! :)

I put in the weight I was when I began to lose. I lost 9 pounds on another program before switching to MFP, so I wanted that to be shown on my ticker. I worked for it...it's nice to see the total. :) I would put in whatever weight you were when you began seriously TRYING to lose. No matter what program you were on, or what…

Creating a calorie deficit is the for sure way to lose weight. Don't set your goal too high, because you will become discouraged and give up. Would you rather lose the 70 pounds in a year, or never? You could possibly attain the 40 pounds by mid-end of April, but that means creating a deficit of 1000 calories per day. It…

Are you passing a Chipotle by any chance?? The *make it your way* works to cut calories and it's much healthier food than the burger places! Chipotle is my savior when it comes to fast food! :)

Holy cow!! Awesome!!

I am 36...started at 268 last winter, but quit after losing 10 pounds. I restarted 3 weeks ago and have lost 10 pounds again. My first mini goal was to get under 250...and I did that last week! I am 248 now...my ultimate goal is 185. (I am 5'10) I would like to get there before we go to Italy in September! I have always…

I agree...HAVE THE CAKE! :) I am so glad you posted this...I am attempting to *walk off* my weight too...and was proud of my 15 miles last week, until I saw your mileage!! I can do more, and you proved it!

Seriously...talk to your doctor. Everyone is different! I was wondering about the same thing until I spoke with my doctor who explained that I have enough fat to lose that I don't have to worry about going too low on calories "AS LONG AS I FEEL OK". This means I can do as little as 800 FOR ME...personally. He did say if…

You burn more calories walking than standing. If you check the calculators this makes sense...MFP subtracts what you would have burned doing nothing from the calories burned walking. For instance for me...I burn 380 calories walking 3mph for one hour. However I burn around 100 calories per hour just breathing. So when I…

No kidding!! I did notice that when I log walking on my phone, it gives me calories based on my goal weight, not my current weight (checked other calculators to be sure)...but when I edit after entering the minutes...or log in on the computer, it gives me the correct walking calories. I am wondering if there is just…

It better...or I am in trouble too. LOL The way I see it is: What if I drink 2 cups of water and eat a teaspoon of crystal light 10 minutes later? Same effect in the stomach. Might as well mix it in a glass beforehand. :) My life-saver is Sobe Lifewater...I love the flavors...I drink 2-3 bottles a day...no calories or…

Adding butter to one piece of bread and cooking a chicken breast with olive oil could easily be adding 100 calories a day to your diet. Also, are you taking any supplements? My calcium and gummy vitamins add 50 calories a day to my diet.

I second the comment to talk to your doctor. I was wondering about this...and my doctor said that it's different for everyone depending on how overweight they are. For me, it's no problem to go under the calorie recommendation of 1300 on MFP as long as I am feeling good. I have 60 pounds to lose though. The whole…

You made my day! Thank you! :)
