Oh and my dr thought it was fat between my discs and vertebrae...who knows for sure?

Before I had gastric bypass I was always 5'9.5"...320-some pounds. Ever since I lost weight after that I have only been 5'8.5". I lost 110... Gained 55 back but never gained a fraction of an inch back. I am just now working my way back to losing the 55... 2 pounds to go! Curious if I will lose more height when I continue…

I lost 53 pounds walking for 99% of my exercise. I can't run for more than 30 seconds without dying...lol...actually when I attempt to run, my distance is cut in half for that day. That being said, this is not strolling...this is minimum 3.5 mph, outside and super hilly...always crazy windy here too. So it's quite a…

Don't quit watching what you eat...don't quit MFP. QUIT reading all the things that make it confusing. QUIT reading posts. QUIT overanalyzing and stressing yourself out. Talk to your doctor, use the MFP tool for what it is, a calorie tracker. Have your doctor help you set it up correctly for YOUR goals and current fitness…

Yep...muscles need water to heal. Every time I kick up my exercise for a few days..or a week, I lose nothing or gain a pound or two. I rest for two days and lose anything I gained, plus pretty much exactly what I should have lost based on calories alone. I created a spreadsheet to track body bugg calories in vs fitness pal…

I think it's a combination of weirdness... :) My husband lost 40 pounds, and I had lost 49 when we were at a party with tons of people we hadn't seen in months...and everyone said he looked great...like he lost weight...blah blah blah...and I am standing RIGHT THERE...wanting to yell...HEY I lost MORE! LOL Anyway, our…

Well, the FDA requires calories to be listed on the label of all packaged food. Pretty sure calories matter. You can get fat on avocados...ask me how I know. LOL
-
Yeah...I quit level ONE 4 minutes in...I am back at it tomorrow after watching what this man was able to accomplish!! :)

YAY for you!!! What a great feeling! And what better motivation to keep up the good work?? :)

My favorite low-carb meal is a mesquite chicken breast (precooked/frozen)...microwave for 2 minutes while I cut up some peppers and onions (usually I do a big bowl at once for a few days worth)...and then slice the chicken into strips and sauté with the peppers and onions. If I am stingy on the oil or use nonstick spray,…

Ok so same subject...but kind of a side note to possibly help the OP... I was on fairly low doses of random antidepressants for the past 10 years...but they always had some weird side effect that I hated dealing with. After beginning a serious diet and walking for exercise program in October, I saw a huge improvement in my…

I love food...and it's habit to eat. It's like no other addiction...if you are a smoker you can quit, if you are an alcoholic, you quit, if you are a drug addict, you stop. With food, you can't just quit. You have to cut back...I think knowing where to 'cut back' to and staying there is the hardest part.

Just one. And one of the shortest full names ever...lol...Cher Bapp. No middle name either.

And to the OP....you made my day...seriously...I needed motivation this week, and you are it! Thank you so much for sharing your story!!

If you have lost 23 pounds on your own....you got it!! Just think of it in fractions....seriously the first few minutes of a workout are killer...same with weight loss....you got this far, you can do it for sure! And about surgery...you still have to change your lifestyle, might as well do it without the hell of surgery. I…

I have a bodybugg...I loved it for the first month or so...helped figure out what, how, when and all that of my movements and exercise. I don't need it any more though...seems like 5-6 weeks and you memorize the numbers.

If your body requires 2000 calories (example) to maintain...and you eat 60,000 calories in 30 days, you will maintain. You may fluctuate within the month, but you will not have a gain or loss, barring any change in exercise. Doesn't matter what day you eat the calories. I am at 1690 calories per day. If I eat 2000 one day…

Also called calorie cycling... I do it a little...but not religiously. It works for me because some days I am hungry and some not...I just keep my weekly calories at a slight deficit...some days I go over by 300, some days I am under by the same amount. Calories are not day-specific by any means. An extra 500 calories on…

I lost 45 pounds and went from a solid 20 to a solid 18...and just in the last 5 pounds or so can I cram myself into a 16. I lost mostly from my face, chest and shoulders at first...so it all depends on the person.

I had gastric bypass 9 years ago....but never had problems eating anything and everything after about 2 years out. Gained over half my 110 pounds lost back. Now I am two pounds from getting it back off! :)

Another vote for blue cheese...I can have very little (yep I'm dumb enough to try) or I end up with a migraine the next day. Also alcohol if more than half a serving...which I can do without. And other random aged or marinated foods...like greek or Spanish olives. Though calamata olives haven't done it. Lack of caffeine…

This is so interesting...and so different for everyone! Here's me: 37 yo female 5'9" 215 XL tops (some large) Size 18 bottoms sag a little but 16's give me the dreaded muffin top. Started at 268 in a snug 20...some 22's and XXL or 2X tops. Most of my weight came off my face, chest (ugh!) and shoulders first. I hope to be a…

My DVD came in the mail today...and after showing my hubby a few before/after posts by guys on here...he said he is gonna do it too. Though we are each doing out own time slots...lol...I am way whimpier than him, and can't handle feeling like a loser when I need a break. :) Off to do measurements...oh and our 15 year old…

I also have the same problem...after a few months of fighting it out, I decided to just save 150 calories for bedtime. Awesome! I never go to bed hungry and my weight loss actually sped up because I am not hogging down extra calories on those nights I give in and go over. My fav nighttime snacks have a ton of flavor, and…

We drove home from Yellowstone (through mountains) to Wisconsin (just over 1000 miles) in exactly 24 hours. Left at 7 am and got home at 7 am...my husband drove the entire time and I was afraid to sleep the last few hours because I was afraid he would fall asleep. LOL We only stopped for gas and McDonalds and rest…

This...for sure. I was thinking that she threw the last weigh in to get all the loss on her final weigh in. I bet it was more like a total of the 17 pounds in two weeks...totally possible if you burn even 400 calories an hour at 10 hours a day.
-
Ok ok....so I posted early in this thread...like page 3 or 4...and said I don't buy it because I lost 40 pounds on 1200 calories over a few months...and I upped it to 1450 for two months and was still stuck at a 1 pound loss for the two months. So after reading all the rest of the comments and going to the sites with the…

I agree... It's the kinds of foods they eat....seriously on the days I am good and stick to veggies and fruits, I am too full to finish my 1200...on a day where I eat French fries or something sugary...I'm starving all day. Lol
-
Ok I just don't buy it....everyone in this thread who had 'success' with upping their calories has less than a few pounds or weeks worth of proof. No long-term people (on this particular thread) are saying it worked for them...long term as in 20 pounds or over a few months. I have tried it...got stuck after losing 40…

Definitely...even though my doc said not to eat them for weight loss...it doesn't mean I CAN'T eat them for fun. :)
