Oh boy....lots of us starting over! :) I started MFP a couple years ago and it worked great! Last year I was super close to my goal, and I can't even begin to say what happened. I gained some of it back, and now I'm struggling to get back into that healthy lifestyle I had. So here I am...starting over...again! LOL I would…

Bump...great advice here guys! I'm looking to get back into a routine so I just want to follow this thread :)

My kitchen staples are extra virgin olive oil, brown rice, multigrain pasta, canned tuna, whole grain bread, peanut butter, almond butter, and I always stock my freezer with boneless skinless chicken breast. I try to keep fresh fruits and veggies stocked up. I don't buy too much sweets or junk because if they're…

We were all newbies once...and I would have loved it if someone had encouraged me when I first started! In fact, since I'm still hit and miss (bad I know), I would STILL love to get some kind of encouragement from a regular at the gym.....Yes, I hate to walk into my gym and see it crowded, but that's just because I still…

A tattoo for your weight loss is very personal and for you....so just think it through carefully. I think it's a great idea, and I'm considering the same for myself :). I'm 34, and do not have any just yet, but have been wanting one. I just want it to be very specific to me and not something you're going to see on a lot of…

I'm bored also...but not on duty :P....my own lil brats are sleeping (but I do LOVE 'em).....I should be in bed myself, but......

Yes please!! :)

I would say it depends on what you're doing.....I have to wear a knee brace because I've had issues pretty much all my life. With whatever exercise you're performing, make sure you're using proper form. And listen to your body. Some pain is expected, i.e. muscle aches and weariness. Other pain means stop or slow down. You…

I was just about to start my own post when I saw yours....I am finding myself struggling to get back into a healthy lifestyle. I can't even say for sure how I got out of it. I find myself being very tired, not wanting to workout or eat good. I am really trying to find that motivation I had when I first started. It seems…

I try to get my kids involved with the meals. Yes, I decide, but I ask what they might like with the main course or if I have a couple options I'll let them choose. My kids are old enough now that for breakfast and lunch they are pretty much on their own (most the time), but at supper it is ultimately my decision. I will…

I always think "this isn't going to fit"....but I try it on anyhow. If it doesn't fit, then I'm not disappointed, just turns out I was right and I keep working towards making them fit. If they do fit (and usually do it seems) then yay for me! I feel great when I fit into something I didn't think would. And I make sure I…

I bought a jar a couple weeks ago and implemented the rule of 1 serving a day for my kids...then found it almost impossible to follow that rule for myself! I decided nutella is evil and to never buy it again!! LOL You just need to be rid of it and focus on eating healthy. If you can go a few days or a week without it…

My non scale goals are: to be able to do regular (not girly) push ups, to do pull ups or chin ups, and to run a 5k without walking in 30 minutes. I can almost do the 5k, but not in that time yet. The push ups are killing me and I haven't actually attempted a pull up yet. I'm waiting for the gym to be empty to even try,…

I've been wanting to do add in some yoga also....so I'm interested in the responses :)

Hey all...I'm getting ready to start lifting heavy soon. I'm still in weight loss mode for now, but I'm building up to heavier weights and studying form and such. I know you have to eat at a surplus to build muscle...My question is for those gals lifting heavy but still needing to lose weight, how much do you eat? And,…

Check out jog.fm for songs broken down by bpm or minutes/mile. I made my playlist off that site :) eta: My favorite song on my playlist is Holding out for a hero by Bonnie Tyler :)

I'm now on week 8. Missed my first run yesterday since I didn't get up early enough to beat the heat and my YMCA is closed on Sundays so no treadmill access either :(. I did another cardio workout so tonight I'll go on schedule with my strength training and I will do my first 28 minute run tomorrow morning. I'm eager to…

Thanks for posting this! You've done an amazing job. Keep it up!! :)

Haha! Great for you! I actually know that feeling...kinda. Sometimes I catch a reflection or even a shadow of myself and have to do a double take...I think, "That's not MY reflection is it?" It's too thin! I love it when I realize, yes, that is me!! :) Keep up the great work!

Definitely do the Couch to 5k program! I did it (am still doing it) and LOVE it! I used to hate to run, never thought I would be a runner, but now not only CAN I do it, but I ENJOY doing it! I just did my week 7 day 1 run (25 minutes no walking) and it felt great! Am I a fast runner? No, definitely not. But, I'm running.…

My favorite yonanas so far (always playing with new recipes) is banana split.... 2 large bananas 3/4 cup frozen pineapple 3/4 cup dark sweet frozen cherries This makes (for my family) 3 servings. To really make it awesome, top with some chocolate syrup or (even better) chopped up dark chocolate! For 3 servings, this is…

I LOVE my yonanas! And so do my kids!! It works way better than a food processor or blender. The consistency of your fruit is actually like ice cream! IMO, it works great and is worth the money! I use mine at least 2-3 times a week. You can use only 1 banana for a recipe, and cut back on the calories. You do have to scrape…

Just finished my week 6 day 3 run and it was pretty darn good. 25 minutes of running with no walking. I had to go to the gym and use the treadmill because of the heat though. I feel that the treadmill is easier for me than pavement, but I'm countin' it anyhow!! LOL Only problem I had was the first treadmill I was on kept…

Thanks for posting this! I need to come back to it next time I find myself digging through my cabinets and fridge for that something to satisfy me....when I know darn well nothing will! Thanks!

Did my day 2 of week 6 today...not a great run again. I think I was spoiled running in the shade at the campground. I need to be getting up at sunrise I guess to run before the sun is beating down on me. I think Thursdays run (25 minutes no walking) will have to be on the treadmill at the gym since it's suppose to hit 100…

Yonanas! Love it!! Especially with sweet dsark cherries and a little bit of dark chocolate. Mmmmmmm!!

Just got home yesterday from my camping trip, and I loved running at the campgrounds! It was wonderful having some scenery (besides corn fields) to enjoy while running. And I did my 20 minute run on week 5 day 3 Thursday and it went awesome! I really wasn't sure I'd be able to do it, but I found my rhythm and kept at it…

I just finished my week 5 day 1 run! The first 2 5 minute stretches weren't so bad...but that last one was a killer! I don't think it helped that it was getting hot at that point. I really have to start getting up earlier to beat the heat. But, I did it and I feel great! Here I come 8 minutes!! WOOHOO!

I just finished week 4 and feeling pretty good! I have to admit that week 5 scares me (A LOT!) Not sure how I'm gonna do it. And add to the fact that I'll be running it at a campground instead of my usual country road. Wish me luck next week!
