you DO NOT look 50!!!!

Interesting...I'm considering one, but I do tend to flail my arms around a bit much

What is your point? In case you didn't know this...pretty much EVERYONE has stress, family pressures, obligations and issues they can use as an excuse. I've been through a lot in my life, and I used them to justify being overweight and inactive all the time, but in the end...its all just excuses and personal choices. We…

Sorry, but everyone has a life, regardless of being a mom or not. Excuses are excuses no matter what's behind them. There's always someone busier than you who finds...no MAKES time to work out. OP....I agree with the poster who said you aren't committed to change quite yet. You need to really want it to make it happen.…

all of the above! Please get help. If your mother won't assist you in getting the proper help, try talking to a counselor at your school

I've always heard the expression "you can't out-exercise a bad diet", but if you generally eat well, and want to feel free to indulge on something specific, why not plan for it?
-
. Sorry, but this reeks of the Bridezilla mentality to me... Let's not forget most people who are coming to eat "your" food, drink "your" wine, dance to "your" music, are also bringing a gift for YOU. They may give money, or went out and bought something special that you registered for (and quite possibly sat though your…

oh good....and glad you're taking advantage of that. I do agree about it being daunting, and nobody wants to end up on youtube because they did something terrible wrong and made a fool out of themselves! A lot of women tend to think they're going to get huge if they lift some dumbells though....

Not me...I only knew who was at that part based on photos....I was so stinking nervous I could hardly see till it was over. I do remember who was (and was not) at our reception though, because we did make a point to talk to (and thank) everyone who came!! I'm sure its cultural, but I don't think its at all rude to miss the…

For me it depends on the timing of each. If its a big church wedding with a 3 hour gap between the ceremony and reception (common practice in my neck of the woods), I'm probably only going to the reception (I don't like going to church, and resent being expected to sit through the long full-mass type weddings). We had ours…

Why "no weights yet"? (please dont' say you think you'll bulk up :frown: ) There's no reason you can't incorporate strength training from the very beginning....it helps build lean muscle faster, which burns more fat! To answer your question...do as much as you can, but be careful not to burn yourself out too quickly. Some…
-
THIS! Whatever you do...find what you like, because that's what you're going to stick with. You WILL get stronger, but do try to push yourself past your comfort zone when you can, because that's what helps you get stronger, leaner and better! Everybody has to start someplace...you can do this!

How long have you been doing this routine? It really should get better, but I do think 3 rest days can be setting you back every week. What if you added something different (like strength training or some additional cardio) into the middle of those 3 off days? It would help increase your stamina and strength and break up…

That voice is the reason I work out VERY early in the morning. ....because that lazy b*tch isn't awake early enough to talk me out of going to the gym!
-
THIS! I work out 5-6 days a week, but alternate activities and intensity, and alternate my strength training so I'm not hitting the same areas over and over. Taking 3 full days off after working out 4 in a row seems counter productive to me. Personally, I'd feel like I was starting over every week after doing 3 days off....

No exercise is necessary to lose weigh, but why not make a change that improves your overall health? Strength training is great, but cardio improves your stamina and strength too. Maybe you just need to find something you enjoy.....
-
Don't waste your money on more.....the exercise and heatlhy diet alone should be enough...especially for someone young like you. Hang in there, but please don't stress about expecting results quickly. Most studies show that people who lose quickly end up gaining it back. Slow and steady usually wins the race!!

Its not going to happen overnight. You really have to WANT to make changes to have success, and quite honestly, you really don't sound like you want it bad enough if you can't be bothered to put in the work and stick to a plan.....:ohwell:
-
Let she who has never checked out any guys at the gym cast the first stone....
-
I consider being 'checked out' as a compliment most of the time, but then there's leering ....not good :ohwell: And yes...size does matter
-
Half the battle of exercise is finding something you love doing...good for you :drinker:

True! Maybe you're eating more than you think, or maybe you're not eating enough, but either way, you're getting defensive that the snake-oil Dr. Oz is slinging doesn't work....its a scam to take your money and I'm willing to bet it comes with a special "meal plan" suggestion that includes a calorie deficit (which you can…
-
Because its a SCAM!!
-
Add more fiber into your diet....maybe you're not getting enough?
-
What were you paying, and how much did it increase?
-
Its very possible you're eating more than you think, but if you're truly eating UNDER 1200, then you shouldn't 'eat less' at all. I'd suggest mixing up your workout routine though. Have you been doing the same thing for a long time? Maybe add some new strength training or different cardio to shake things up. Based on how…

ummm, yeah.....9 lbs lost in a week and she's already frustrated. I think patience is going to be a problem.... OP....you really need to relax and give it time!! STOP weighing yourself every day too...:ohwell:

it probably does hinder it at bit....but just imagine what a pregnancy would do to your weight loss goals...  I have heard that you actually burn more calories the week of your period though, so it could be this. Also, most of us tend to bloat and retain more water right before our periods, which might make…
