anyone?

I've also turned off the beeps because I just didn't even know what they meant LOL. I also give it my all assuming that's the best anyway. I actually don't know when to "worry" if my HR gets "too high". I don't know what is "too high" for me. I've been up at 192 when running... I suppose I should look that up. Regarding…

No, I don't need it. I'm just trying to figure out how this HRM works, that's all. I guess the whole "in zone" thing is deceiving because if you go above it, it doesn't count you as being in it even though you're still burning away. I am usually above 160 for most of my workouts, except biking, so I have to believe the…

That's too bad...but how do you know it's incorrect with the calorie counts? I find it to be pretty accurate as far as I can tell.
-
I think my zone is 140-160 so basically I am over the zone when I run and therefore it doesn't count it? But I'm still burning calories and fat aren't I? I don't get it. I'm pretty sure the calorie count is accurate because it's within about 20 cals of what my Garmin says when I run. This zone thing is just driving me nuts…

I have the 205, it's "old". I think I paid $170ish or $117, I can't remember, I just know that there was a 7 in it LOL.

I have a Garmin Forerunner and I love it. It's the only one I've ever had though so I have nothing to compare it to.

Interesting. I did the calculations and it's about right to what I've been doing (which is NOT what MFP set me up at) and I have finally lost 3 pounds after making the change, which was to increase my calories. This has me at a maintenance of about 2000 calories so if I take 500 off, that puts me at 1500 which is what I've…

Well I did a lot of stationary biking last week with my HRM and I was surprised that the HRM and bike were not far off from each other, but MFP and the bike were WAY off. MFP was WAY high. So, in your case, I'd go with what the bike said. But, you really don't know. Your bike could be completely different than the one I…

I usually eat a Nature Valley protein (peanut butter Dark chocolate) on my way to the gym if I'm going to have a heavier workout and I think it helps!

Well I have a Garmin Forerunner and love it. I cannot run or even walk without it. I didn't get the one with the HRM strap so I also have a Polar for that which I also love. If I had to do it again, I'd get the Garmin with the HRM strap. I have nothing to compare either to since they are the only ones of these gadgets I've…

I used to log it in as circuit training until I got a HRM. The circuit training option had much higher calories than I actually burned.

bump. always looking for new crock pot recipes!

To be honest, no. Not me anyway but that's because I'm just not motivated enough to do enough working out at home. I'm at the gym and I really get into it and stay there longer than I should. But that doesn't mean someone else couldn't get a good enough burn at home on their own.

I think they hurt because I went out and did too much too soon after pregnancy. I wanted so bad to get back to running 5+ miles that I went too fast. I can "easily" run 7+ miles now but not without a lot of pain. I have the lungs for it, but not the legs right now. And I'm signed up for a 15k on the 27th. I just took a…

Yeah he looked at those but didn't like them. He's very finicky when it comes to techie stuff and he gets frustrated easily! LOL

Yep. When I ran my first half, I was only doing 6 miles at most and on the mill, I had only run outdoors for a week or two before the race and I ran 10 miles the week before. If you can do 9 or 10, you can finish. I stopped to walk for only a few seconds here and there. You can do it! AND, there is no shame in walking if…

Ditto. I'm a big wine drinker and hubs and I were opening a bottle almost every night. I made room for the calories, but decided that food would better suit me than wine, on most days. So I have cut back on the wine, it's hard because it's basically part of my nightly routine, but it's still doable.

I guess I need to get a HRM, just need to find the funds (I just bought new running shoes!). I do a mixture of body weight and weights. Today my workout was: leg step ups on a high box, row machine, body weight pushups at an angle (not sure how to describe this one), squats with weigh lifts, dead lifts, rev flys, plank…

Congratulations, that is very awesome. I'm the exact height as you and want to get to 115 or just where you're at now. Do you eat back exercise calories and netting 1600 calories? I am struggling to find the right number for me. Right now I am trying to net 1500 and eat back my calories.
-
Are you all eating your exercise calories back?
-
This is great, thanks! I prefer to log in my exercise and eat back calories. It makes me feel accomplished when I see the calories burned added. But, MFP keeps putting me either at 1200 or 1320 net calories! I've tried 1200 and 1400 so I am trying 1500 now, but I'm afraid that will be too high. My BMR is 1365, my TDEE is…

I'm 5'2" and 134, I started at about 136 and 1200 calories, didn't work. Upped it to 1400, still isn't working so now I'm trying 1500. And I've been at this for over 3 months now.

I just started doing some circuit strength training at the gym. A trainer put together 3 different workouts for me since I usually go 2-3 days a week. I think I'll keep running since I have about a month of good outdoor weather left here. Then when I move in the gym for most of my exercise, I think I'll do just a few miles…

It's hard to imagine that running 17+ miles a week isn't good enough! I have a 15k to run at the end of October so I think when that's over, I'm going to ease up on the running and concentrate on other exercises like doing some Boot Camp and circuit classes maybe.
-
Thanks, yes it is baby weight, but I've got almost all of that gone now but a few pounds. I was slightly overweight when I got pregnant so now I am working on getting that off too. I've been working hard for 3 months now with little to show for it but 3 pounds, muscular legs and better endurance lol. I don't seem to be…

This kind of ties in with my original question: when you calculate how many calories you burn a day based on your activity level, how does the day to day changes effect that? Just like yesterday I ran 7 miles and did some house cleaning. I'd consider that very active? Today I did a little light housework and it's football…

in the evening. I work PT so on the days I work, I go to the gym before even going home and do my weights and cross training. on the other days that I'm home with the baby, I go running as soon as my husband gets home. It usually works out perfect except for the times (like last night) when hubby didn't get home until 7:30…
-
That's interesting! My trainer has been saying that she thinks I need to eat like 1800 so maybe there is something to that. Also, with the baby and our schedules, I don't get to start my workouts till 5ish or later and we don't eat dinner till sometimes 8 or later. It's just how it is. We're trying to find ways to change…

Already done :) I bought a pair of "motivation" jeans right when I got the all clear to run again and they've been hanging up there for 3 months lol I *can* just get them on with a nice ole muffin top! Not sure if I could sit in them though. I'm anxiously waiting for my current jeans that are 1 size up to get loose on me…
