  • bump. I'd like to know too, I have the Polar Ft4 and have this same problem and I haven't had it nearly as long yet and haven't changed the battery either, I can't believe I'd have to already.
  • You ran. And you ran a fantastic time for someone who hasn't run in as long as you have! Great job! Be proud, you ran!
  • Don't know if that was directed at my post, but to clarify, the trainer also brought out the lower box for those who couldn't do the high one or who were not comfortable with it. There were only 2 of us in class. I did the high one, the other gal did the low one. No biggie.
  • I did it for the first time last night. It is hard to do that first jump, let me tell you. But once you do it, you can do it. I had to do 10 as part of a circuit and I did the circuit 7 times, so I did 70. Tough, but I felt GREAT being able to do it. Weird thing though, I'm SUPER sore today in the upper back/shoulder and…
  • Yes I've read that one! I think I had it wrong. I don't think I can eat back my cals, but honestly I don't think 1600 can sustain me especially on days I burn 600+. I'm not sure what to do now. I thought 1600 would already be at a deficit enough that I could eat back some cals. Sigh...
  • I give you major kudos! I am a wimp when it comes to the cold. My last outdoor run was October 27th! LOL Normally I'd continue in November, but I stopped due to injury anyway. Now I'm on the ole 'mill till spring!
  • Thanks for the support! I did more research and it looks like 1600 is the way to go. I'd also be able to eat back calories. According to a few calculators I need around 2,000 to maintain at my activity level. So, to lose weight, cut that down to 1600 and eat back some exercise so I net 1600, right? Yeah, that's right…
  • I was home with my baby yesterday and during naptime I did a quick circuit of exercises I found in the Self magazine. They actually were kinda tough and I burned over 200 calories in 26 minutes. I think they have it online too. self.com/fitness and look for 13 minute burn or something like that.
  • I used to log it as circuit training, but I quickly got a HRM so I don't have to guess. If you plan to continue doing bootcamp for a long time, I HIGHLY recommend getting a HRM. It's worth the $70-$100, every penny.
  • I'm confused that 32% bf is obese?? I'm currently 31% and I am definitely NOT obese...! Does bf go by height as well? I'm 5'2"
  • So do you do the same workout for 10 days, then a new workout for 10 days, etc? I was under the impression that it was a serious of 30 different ones!
  • I have a Polar FT4 and use it for my "weight training" at the gym which I have turned into more of a circuit training and ever since I have used the Polar, I finally started dropping some weight. It's helped a lot, love it. If you're doing "weight lifting" the way I do, then it should work for you. I don't lift a heavy set…
  • I have the Garmin 205 and love it. I'm hoping to upgrade sometime in the near future. I have used the 205 so much and it's still working great, I just want a smaller face and the HRM strap now.
  • I started walking by 2 weeks and then at 3 weeks I had clearance from my doc to gradually get back into running. I am a runner and it was killing me not to run, especially since I had been on bed rest for 5 weeks. So the day I got that clearance, I started walk/running and then built up.
  • I'm working on the same thing! Eventually it's gotta go away!
  • I'll try to do the BL workout tomorrow with my HRM on and report back.
  • strength training- nothing bootcamp and circuit classes- glare at the instructor ;-) running- music elliptical- netflix (HATE the elliptical so I need to distract myself) (or any cardio machine really)
  • Question about Insanity: (sorry to hijack) is the program a workout every day? I'm really interested in doing it, but I'm not sure that I can guarantee myself a block of time every day being home with my baby, he doesn't nap for very long unfortunately LOL. I'd hate to get the program and then not be able to give it the…
  • I used it about a year ago and I think it had some tough workouts. I didn't have an HRM at the time though. I was about to pull it out and try it last night actually and use my HRM, but I ended up doing a dance video instead to save time. the BL "game" requires some equipment and I didn't want to lug it out and waste time…
  • No, but it's in the back of my mind that I have a little wiggle room on those days. For me, it's the days I stay home with my 5 month old versus days I'm at work. I am MUCH more active when I'm home (surprisingly) than at work. Being at work is a freaking break LOL I'd like to get a fitbit to know exactly the difference…
  • I lost 2% in 2 months from 35% to 33% and I've lost almost 2" in my waist and almost 2 in my hips. I'm really seeing improvement.
  • Usually 350-400 in bootcamp or circuits or just my own gym workout and then another 250ish on the elliptical while I'm taking a break from running. But if I run, it's usually about 106 cals/mile so depends on how far I go. I aim to burn about 500 a day. So if bootcamp didn't pay off as much, I hit the elliptical.
  • I wonder if it has to do with DST, but what does it mean? LOL
  • It was my first 15k and I did really like it! You're right, it's long enough to feel it, but doesn't kill you like the half does. I have a 13.1 sticker on my car but now I want to put 13.1, 15k, 10k and 5k all in a row, now that I've done them all!
  • I actually found some great at-home workouts on Pinterest today. Try looking around there.
  • I wouldn't use it for any exercise, I have a HRM for that, I want to use it for daily activity to see if my TDEE is calculated correctly and to see how much more I burn on days I'm not at my desk job. I will check out the two that you mentioned, thanks!
  • I think this might be what I am looking for as well. I'm looking to figure out my TDEE on days that I work vs. days that I am home with my baby (I burn more I know it!), would this device work well for that? Will it track just basic movements, not just steps? Can someone post a link to the fitbit ultra, I looked it up on…
  • Thanks, I will take a look at that! I wonder if I could just try using my HRM. Although I'd hate to run the batteries down.
