Hello! I'm Leah, I'm in Seattle. I work out in Fremont, and walk my dogs on Queen Anne and in Ballard. I work all over the city.
-
Even later, I'm doing the same thing, searching for local people! Last time around I had no local 'friends', trying to see if it will make a difference this time around, whether I manage to meet up with anyone or not, just the possibility might feel better.

I'm in Seattle too, and wish we weren't known for being aloof. Feel free to add me!

I'm in Seattle, extra late to the conversation because I'm extra fashionable.

Hi! I'm searching for seattle in the forums. I also am back from getting off track, and am in Seattle.
-
Yes! I could walk to the Space Needle if I really needed to, but I'd rather drive. I work out in Fremont. Feel free to add me. Coming back after a hiatus and regaining.

It does suck. This site gives you some calories burned, even breaks down sex into light - vigorous : ) you can create a custom exercise and use the values from there. http://www.fatburn.com/free_tool_activity_burn.asp

1994 Volvo 850 Day of the Dead art car - 160,000 odd miles.

Also - May (horror) and Temple Grandin, Eagle VS Shark (love comedy), and Tell Me You Love Me (season 1, canceled HBO series)

Safety Not Guaranteed, Snow Cake (Sigourney Weaver) and Dirty Filthy Love. Also The Look Out.

My fave is with sliced apples, preferably honey crisp, pink lady, or ambrosia. Also love to use it as a sub for mayo, cream cheese etc. Great ideas and links here! Will be trying some for sure!

Me too! And I love the Nerd PSA, even though by those standards I don't qualify. Much like how I can pass for straight, I can pass for normal most days, but if you come into my house, see my car, or see my Leia tat, then my cover is totally blown.

First one to come to mind is Wonder Woman, and fond memories of my satiny Wonder Woman tank and undies as a kid. Love my current WW t-shirt, but is she really my fave? She is an amazon.... I'll have to think on it. Next in mind is not really a super hero, but Ripley comes to mind, then Buffy who is an awesome superhero.

Also - I was adopted at the age of three, my parents asked what I wanted my new name to be, of course I said - Princess Leia. They didn't like the spelling/sound of Leia, so they settled for Leah. I have a tattoo of Leia as Our Lady of Guadalupe. Feel free to add me!

Love horror and scifi. I bought a black Borg brand scale, I compared various new and vintage models to pics of the Borg and bought the one that looked the most Borgish to me. It makes me happy every time I weigh myself. I am getting my exercise this weekend selling sci-fi and horror t-shirts at the Emerald City Comicon. I…

It may sound super nerdy, but I've started listening to NPR programs on my phone, while I work out, and it's helped a lot. I really like Snap Judgement, it's a bunch of short, true stories, each show has a different topic, and includes things like a man who became friends with a crocodile, to heart warming love stories,…

Artist in various mediums, artsy, and I married an artist, she's better than me in painting and sculpture, but I take better photos. Also, yes, that's me sitting on my Art Car, super fun to drive around.

Start - 165.5 Current- 156.8 Goal -130 ish Yes! I lost weight before without counting, just eating healthier and excercise. This time around I didn't have a lot things like fast food to cut out, they were already gone. I did have lack of exercise, and too much dessert. My wife was making fun of me for measuring and…

I love rewarding myself by going out to eat too or having something special at home. My plan is to keep doing that, but find healthier places and foods. For the last few years I have been rewarding my self with things like exotic or more expensive/larger qty fruits and veggies. I also make fresh juice mocktails, mixing…

It could also be a difference in prep, say, if oil or butter was used, and types of breading. If one is for fried mushrooms on fried rice, that would definitely be higher than fried mushrooms on steamed rice, but the description might not make that distinction. I often end up adding the ingredients separately, and guessing…

Definitely check with a doctor/nutritionist if you can. You can totally diet successfully! I've had problems with low blood sugar for years - and I know it's not just being hungry. For me, can be 2-4 hours after eating, it's shakes, blurred vision, weakness in arms and legs, difficulty speaking, irritability/anger due to…

I love that when I saw the title of this thread, I knew it would be full of awesome people.

I still use facebook, but I get more out of MFP, and I only have 8 friends, none of whom I have met in person! It's great to see so many people working to better themselves.

Mine is actually my 1st name and my middle name. And no, my parents weren't that cool. I changed my middle name to Random in 2006, when I unlegally married my wife and took her last name. Why Random? Even though I was adopted, and have had two completely different names, both of my middle names were chosen because they…

Sounds cool, I'll check it out. It may help with my tendency to just not log in on days when I go out for food. I also just started using gympact for android, but it's being slow to get going, it just came out for android. My first 'week' is lasting three.
-
I have no idea what that is, but it sounds way funner than regular water.

Hi Carolyn, this is my second time using MFP, and my first time getting really serious about it. And I realized it is way better with friends!

HaHa! I'm new to my gym, but I started at the end of December to loose weight for my wedding, and just because. I go late at night, between 10 and 12, and not many people are there. Still, I am always paranoid that I'm doing something dumb or totally wrong. Last night I went in with my new gym bag and smart phone arm band…

34 here. Tried to get some of my friends from facebook to join me here, but no luck. They are either doing another program or too busy. Good to see so many 30 somethings!

Losing weight for an event seems a perfect reason to me. It has been just the motivation I needed, and it seems more concrete, and in a sense, is like an extra reward. My hope is, and I assume this is true for others, that I will create a habit that will last past my goal event, and I will continue to maintain exercising…
