2100-2400 or so, depending on my activity lvl for the week and I don't always eat my exercise calories back. Just started this. Was at 1600 per day with pretty much no activity and wasn't losing anything. I started working out a bit and changed my caloric intake higher, about 7 weeks ago. Still haven't lost lbs but have…

^This is exactly what I do. I have a small one every single day, sometimes two (that's my indulgence instead of candy). To whoever asked about plain ones, I add a small amount of salt to each half before I eat it. Makes all the difference and doesn't take me over my sodium for the day. I've never gained while eating them.…

1. ignore them - they don't have any room to talk in their current conditions. They obviously have no clue what healthy looks or feels like. 2. Enjoy the new you cuz you are smokin'!! 3. ignore them! Your 'friends' (if they really are your friends, gf included) should be seeing you as an inspiration. Congrats on your…

Most people on this site do not fit that description. Maybe that applies to healthy people. From the same article: Again, maybe that applies to healthy people but probably not many of us here. Exhaustion and not getting enough sleep, and many other conditions, can cause your body to tell you its hungry and thirsty when it…

Great job!! Inches lost means so much more to me now than lbs lost. Keep it up : ) :drinker:

All of the above actions worked very well for me. I'd be too busy at work to think of drinking water so I too would notice, as I'm walking out the door, my still-full water bottle that I'd filled in the morning. My water bottle is a 32-ouncer, with a straw. I used to put ice in it, but I found I actually drink more when it…

alcohol makes me feel ill. i dont know if its the meds or not but i didnt have that problem beforehand. on a brighter note, my blood sugars have been between 70 and 140 consistently for the last several weeks, with an occasional 170. I did find out the other day that a small glass of juice will raise it to over 230.

There are many food ingredients that are bad for us but they are still allowed by our US government. Why is it the UK can regulate those ingredients (and in fact, most countries do) but the US cannot? Because we Americans are all about our rights to put whatever we want into our bodies without the government telling us…

Pretty sure that's not statistical fact. There are many reasons our prison system is overloaded that have nothing to do with how many parents taught their kids not to lie, cheat, steal and kill. Not their parents. It's about personal responsiblity, not blaming someone else. They know damn well its their own fault. They…

Sorry but this is exactly what parents do. They teach their children what they themselves believe in, like religion, proper nutrition, healthy habits, right and wrong, etc. As a parent, I try to give my son options, and teach what I believe in, but also encourage him to make his own decisions. I agree that using your child…

Wow LOL Gratz on your noticeable success! Feels good doesn't it :drinker:

I stopped drinking regular soda years ago and switched to diet. I've had terrible heartburn and acid reflux for a long time, and always woke up with a nasty taste in my mouth and would hack and cough up grossness when I woke up; usually when I was brushing my teeth and spitting out the paste. I recently read some…

When you are speaking of someone's name you should be speaking it how they pronounce it in their language, not apply American pronunciation to it, unless its English. That's exactly how many names got changed when immigrants arrived in this country. American officials at that time were too lazy or simply didn't like how a…

In a nutshell, I'm afraid of being successful at my weight loss. My getting fat became a shield against getting hurt. Losing the weight removes the shield and, in my mind, opens me up to hurt again. I've lost 50 lbs already but its completely stagnated over the last 16 months. If it hadn't, I'd be at my goal weight. I was…

The Fitbit is mostly a pedometer; that's why you can wear it anywhere on your body/ in your bra/ in a pocket. The BodyMedia reads your body, not just your steps. Won't matter if you're swinging your arms. Simple research on the product gives that information. There is endless information on both, including millions of…

Because I am looking up ideas for my son's Minecraft birthday party and loving it.

"I lost 33 lbs! yay!!!!!" "I had a bite of pancake, I SUCK! I'm going to kill myself now." Gimme a break.

I have this problem too. I think its deprivation. I don't think I have to cut out all the stuff I like, I just have to remember everything in moderation. Plus I think I'm not eating enough during the day so I binge at night. I did stop drinking soda and carbonated drinks. I have had 3 in the last two months and I feel sick…

Online I go by Fae. IRL I go by "hey, you there, you're so freakin' awesome!!". My passion is music. My inspiration is my son. My success is my brain. Chocolate is my kryptonite. My superpower is sarcastic wit and charm - yes, I'm a smartass. I'm just awesome all the way around : )

Yes, when she set my calorie goal it was at a 500 cal per day deficit, so she must have used a TDEE of 2100 calories, and no exercise factored in, because I wasn't doing any really. I had lost 50 lbs before I went to see her, with just diet change, and had plateaued so I went to her for some guidance. I'm still not losing,…

^ My fav response besides the do you even vote lol love dean!!

So, using the "light activity" the calculator gave me 3043 TDEE. 80% = 2434. Eat that every day? Even on the days I don't work out? Crazy!
-
Yes it does but what I see is my app telling me to eat 3600 calories when I have a very active day, which just doesn't make sense to me because I'm trying to lose and everything around us tells us 3600 calories is too much; but as someone else pointed out, that's logic, which doesn't work here. Thank you all for your…
-
Also would you suggest using "Little to no exercise (desk job)" or "Light exercise"? because I do go to the gym twice a week so far and try to get a few hours in during the weekend of varying things like gardening or walking, etc.

Thanks - sorry if I was unclear about something in the beginning post, don't really know what all I'm supposed to be looking at lol What's the .8?

I am shocked you're even on metformin for your blood glucose at that level and certainly shocked that you're taking that much. When I was diagnosed with Diabetes Type 2 my A1c was over 13.5, fasting blood sugars were at over 400. I was put on 1000, then 2000 mg per DAY, not per dose. My A1c has gotten down to 7.5 which is…

The 1600 daily goal was set by my nutritionist last year when I was not active at all. I have since joined a gym and am more active than before but I still sit in an office all day long without much opportunity for anything other than walking for 10 minutes so I have not changed my lifestyle settings to Active. I'm still…
