  • Tualatin Valley here
  • Thank you. I really needed this.
  • Wow..I never thought of it like that. I just beat myself up for binging on anything at all. That's a great insight, thank you!
  • This. You need your mental, physical, and emotional strength for what you are going to face. Don't feed your anxiety. Accept that you are stress-eating and then re-focus. I have such a hard time with this myself and I don't have any surgeries coming up, let alone having cancer. I hope your surgery goes well <3.

  • As with anything on the net, I am sure there will be a lot of supporters but also the occasional troll - just be sure you can handle whatever people say to you. You have a lot more courage than I do.
  • I also went to a therapist and learned how awful my self-perspective is. When I went, it was mind-blowing and I really made a great turnaround and lost 75 lbs. I was 'finally' happy. But, then I went through a pretty emotionally traumatic experience and even though I still know all of these truths, I have been, and am…
  • Anyone remember Penny from My 600lb Life? Some people don't want to be helped and are in a complete state of denial, no matter their condition, environment, enablers or whatever words of despair come out of their mouth. You can get all the help and empathy in the world but you will never change until you want to.
  • Thank you! This is helpful. :)
  • Thanks :) It is not about knowledge. I have that, and plenty of it. The knowledge isn't enough. Similar to people knowing smoking isn't good for them but they do it anyway. I know the benefits and processes and workouts and nutrition. It is about accountability to someone besides me because that doesn't seem to be enough…
  • Thank you :) It is definitely about an accountability person and workout partner. I don't have one nor do I have anyone that could be one. Perhaps PT isn't the right way to get one but it was my first thought :)
  • Thanks :) It's the motivation and being held accountable that I really need. I feel like I need someone there with me, in my face, making me do things on a consistent basis. Maybe that's just an excuse I am using, I don't know. I have lost some weight with body weight exercises and I walk every day but for some reason I am…
  • You are amazing!! I am so happy to see this. You, my friend, are leagues ahead of many, many people here, because you have accepted that YOU are responsible for you. This thread should be stickied, and be the auto-response to every post where people ask for help and then get butt-hurt because they're being told the truth.…
  • Wonderfully inspirational, thank you for sharing :)
  • Incredible!! What a great transformation :) Did you start out at regular intensity, did you have to modify at all?
  • Imo, GW2 is way better than it was 2 years ago, although I'm not thrilled with one or two of the changes, but they've added massive content, changed up some of the group-style play, PvP and WvW have gotten overhauled. They're coming out with their first expansion pack. The previews looked great - new profession, guild…
  • When I first started I hurt all the time, in my back, my legs and my hips. It was because I was not used to moving. It was only bad enough to take advil a couple of times, the rest of the time I didn't take anything. It was, literally, a painful reminder of what I had done to myself. After a little while it went away. I…
  • Because that will still put you at a deficit of over 1300 calories...You're an analyst? I sit on my *kitten* all day too and I don't even eat only 400 calories a day and have lost 60 lbs. 200 calories net is ludicrous. You're on your way to organ failure. Check out Sara's link. Good info there.
  • Very much still in progress, also a crosspost from my own thread.
  • Beautiful, and done in a healthy way! Congrats :flowerforyou: I have such a hard time sticking with any workout program :grumble:
  • Nice to see you back again. Still lookin' good : )
  • Wow! Thanks everyone, your words of encouragement and support are a tremendous help! @ phyl303 - thank you so much for the visual comparisons. It's funny to imagine myself carrying around a basset hound  @ Greywalk - it was actually very intentional to be an example and lesson to my son. My grandfather had diabetes,…
  • Bumping puts a topic at the top of your My Topics, so you can find it easy. Not entirely sure why people are bumping and replying to a 2 year old thread though.
  • Oregon here, feel free to add me : )
  • I have a few that I love and they are easy. Breakfast Smoothie: 8 oz skim (or almond) milk 4 oz vanilla low fat greek yogurt berries (I usually do strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, but sometimes I use blackberries or even a half a banana) a few leaves of spinach Blend in food processor Around 300 calories and VERY…
  • Your body needs carbs, even as a diabetic. Best "diet" is just eating well - good carbs, protein, and fats. Back when I thought the Atkins diet was the answer I lost 80 lbs but then I ate a noodle and gained it all back and then some. I am a type 2 diabetic and I would bet that if you discussed this with your doctor he…

  • I have been following your story for awhile and was just the other day wondering if you'd had the surgery. I'm so happy to see you've made it and you haven't let anything get in your way. As always, very inspiring. Thank you for sharing :flowerforyou:
  • Oay im going to go eat bacon and be fat now. I am a 26 year old woman who has gone from 280 lbs to an alternating 180-185. I am successful in my goals. I am simply changing up my regimens and having trouble. I'm not asking for a miracle. You are the one with a bad attitude. [/quote] I have seen nothing but positive…
  • http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/872212-you-re-probably-eating-more-than-you-think Great info here ^^^ Definitely made a change for me. The food scale was a real eye opener. I was plateaued for a year and a half. I've now started to lose again and its because I use a food scale. I recommend checking out the group…
