  • Nope. Directed at the fact that so many people DO think its all correct. Sorry, thought that sarcasm would be obviously not directed at you since you have said multiple times that you personally don't believe that. Guess it wasn't obvious to you. You've been given the factual answer many times already. Don't see the point…
  • You wink a lot. It doesn't really do anything for your statements fyi; would have been better if you hadn't misquoted again. My statement (the one after the one I made bold, so I think i already checked it out as I'm the one that wrote it) uses this clever little trick called sarcasm. I'm not sure how many different people…
  • It's the internet. EVERYTHING is legit dontchaknow
  • waaat?! You mean depriving myself of everything I love to eat for the rest of my life isn't the way?!?! Blasphemy! Awesome, awesome job, congrats to both of you :drinker:
  • If she wants to join you in snacking at night she only needs to budget her calories during the day so she can. Is she truly 'hungry' when you can snack, or is she just wanting food because you have it? There's a difference.
  • Beautiful and inspiring :flowerforyou: Congrats!! :drinker:
  • Love it! Awesome awesome job - very down-to-earth, informational, motivational, successful, inspiring and humorous. I too am a huge fan of SS and Sara and ETP. Friending you cuz who doesn't need that kind of positivity around? Thanks for sharing and here's to your continued success :drinker:
  • Some short term, some long term - Get back on track with logging now that I'm not on bed rest anymore - Find an activity that I enjoy so that I can be more active - Figure out how to gain strength better since I cannot afford to buy weights or go to a gym and I know this is key to getting fit - figure out why i can't just…
  • There are a great many wonderful people in here, of all needs...weight loss, weight gain, weight maintenance, strength, etc. You're not bigger than many of us, guaranteed. I'm needing to lose ~150 lbs just to be in a healthy range and I am not alone in that. You can get a lot of great, practical advice here. It's been…
  • I don't chime in very often (I'm new to this stuff) but it seems to me that one of the obvious problems here is that you keep asking for specific percentages or numbers, or trying to take every reponse and make it a specific number or percent, while everyone has told you there are too many variables to give you any…
  • I'm in Oregon and I've never seen a wine list at a fast food joint o.0 Am I on the wrong side of the state? Pacific NW :drinker:
  • I just love it when people use "most people" as if they actually know "most people" and can speak on their behalf. generalizing for the sake of proving your own argument I'll stick to the pro's like Sara and the other awesome people that use science and fact.
  • What is with all the jerks in here? Oh yeah, its the MFP forums. Otter is awesome, and Whierd is sarcastic and funny as heIl. 3 of my favorite personalities  :drinker:
  • No need for such rude generalizations. Pretty sure the idiocy surrounding ADD is not localized to my country alone.
  • In for info too.
  • Working out is an incredibly efficient way to put your body into caloric deficit, in addition to adjusting your eating habits. Go to the gym to build strength/muscle and to burn calories. Fixed that for ya :drinker:
  • I don't like the database anymore really. There's too many people "sharing" the recipes and incorrect nutrition information they put in and so we have 10k options to have to review and choose from. I now weigh everything I can, as often as I can. I have a digital scale that cost less than $20. I carry it with me in my…
  • my motto: Life is what you make it; if you don't like your life, change it or quityerbichin.
  • I go when I can, which hasn't been much over the last month due to life being too busy, but when I go I just do whatever moves I can remember from those sessions, and the treadmill. I find that to be a huge waste of money, even if it is only $20 a month. I can save up $20 a month and use it to get free weights when I'm…
  • I would like to check this out as well, for various reasons. When I joined the gym I was given a couple of free sessions with a trainer and this was what he had me doing - just bodyweight exercises, with 3lb dumb bells in addition. But,. when my free sessions were over I had to pay extra if I wanted a list of the various…
  • Thanks Sara, when I get more meals recorded I'll put in my own thread for intake help cuz I'm way outside the 'norm' or any range of it lol. I don't often record here because it's tedious to put in homemade meals. @ TR0berts - no problem, I just assumed that it was my brain being dysfunctional
  • 331/54.2% according to some calculator (I know that's the worst way to check but it's all I had available + I guessed when making the calculations yesterday and used 40% but there doesn't seem to be much difference between the two) Calorie goal of 1600 set by a nutritionist (who also gave me the usual 40/30/30 which is why…
  • Sorry for hi-jacking; I'm confused tr0berts put this, using the LBM in all the calculations. In Sara's thread Setting your calorie and macro targets, she uses the full body weight, not LBM, for the fat calculation So, if I sub the OP's #'s into Sara's statement, it would look like this Fat: 0.35 x 174 (not LBM) = 60.9 x 9…
  • Adding to my list of 'awesome sensible information by SS and Sara' Great stuff, as always! Thanks :drinker:
  • Re-read it. He said 12 hours. And again, regardless of what you think you know and want to apply to a stranger, he knows what works for him so there's really no point in trying to debunk what he's applying to himself. It's not like he's applying it to you or anyone else.
  • You can have low blood sugar without being a diabetic. I'm pretty sure he knows his body a lot better than you do.
  • I don't think anyone can tell you when you SHOULD eat. Our bodies tell us that, unless I'm confused on the word "hunger". (There are, ofc, exceptions to this as well). Everyone is different, period. There is no one perfect way that applies to all the world. IMO, there's nothing more conclusive than personal experience.…
  • I was agreeing with you, just pointing out its everywhere. Additional info here if interested. http://www.aspartame.org/about/consumer-products/#.Uga8Zj8pjpg Here's a glimpse of what's in that link.
  • Aspartame is in nearly everything we eat - everything being processed, prepackaged foods and beverages. Found that out when trying to find items without it so that I could cut down on it as much as possible. I'd bet you have been consuming it a lot more than you think. Do some research. You'll be surprised. I was. Energy…
