Looking into hiring a personal trainer
Sorry if this isn't the right board. I am looking for a personal trainer in Oregon, on the west side of Portland area, that has experience working with extrememly obese clients. Does anyone know of any they would recommend or where I could find such a listing? Google wasn't much help. What types of questions should I be…

Gamer buddies
Hi all :) Anyone play GW2 or LoL? I don't play near as often as I used to - fresh air is great, who knew?? But, I am looking for more people to play or chat with when I do play. In GW2 I play alone now and it gets boring :disappointed:

ladies that lost 150+ lbs while battling severe depression?
How did you do it? How did you cope? To be at a healthy range I need to lose around 200 lbs. I have lost 70lbs over the last few years but I wasn't depressed then. Now its terrible and I can't find the will to do anything for myself, healthy living included. I know I can, because I have, but I don't know how to get past…

Getting out of my comfort zone (pics)
I have lost 60 lbs. It's taken me over 2 years because I still fight with myself. I have not felt like my appearance has changed much, so I put together some before/current photos to show myself that 60lbs is a BIG DEAL, even at my size. I am not one for putting my business out there for everyone to see, but I feel it's…

Squats Questions
Sorry for my newbiness. I wish there was a search function for a specific place on the website. I detest looking up info in the regular forum. I've been looking up different kinds of squats and am particularly interested in those that work the inner thigh. I've run across 2 so far - the Sumo and the Plie. I am unable to…

Weights choices
I have a Bowflex Blaze. I got it for $200 off craigslist. I'm not sure if I want to - need to - should keep it and use it. Pro's -- I paid for it -- Don't need to go to the gym -- Fits in a pretty small space (space isn't an issue for me) -- Seems fairly inclusive for most muscle groups -- Don't need a spotter (I am all by…

YOUR DVD Workout Successes!!!! Pics??
I've read a lot of threads on MFP about people losing a lot of inches in a very short time using DVD workouts like 30DS, RI30, pretty much anything by Jillian Michaels, and Insanity. I lost 6" off my waist, and 2" off my hips, in 7 weeks of doing some circuit training and cardio twice a week. Obviously I'm not looking for…

How do you let go?
I have a list a mile long of why I got fat...emotional issues, blah blah blah...and why I want to lose weight, my motivation, but what I want to know is HOW? HOW do you get past your fears? I have wonderful motivation - getting rid of my diabetes, not leaving my son parentless, teaching him to be healthy - but I struggle…

Friends please : )
Hi! I'm not really new to the site but I'm new to the forum and working out. It's about time I added some friends. I love music, gaming, Dean Winchester, and Daenerys Targaryan; not necessarily in that order : ) I'm from Oregon. I'm excited to continue my getting healthy adventures. Add me!

Still trying to figure out this calories thing
My calorie goal per day is 1600 which is approximately 500 less per day to equal 3500 or 1lb drop per week. What I don't get is if I workout and burn 1000 calories, am I really supposed to eat those 1000 calories back? I've done activities that burn 2000 calories in a couple hours, which brings my calorie goal for the day…

Pigging out at night!
Ok, so, I have this terrible habit of stuffing my face (and my belly) until I'm ready to explode, and then stuffing some more. This almost always happens at night. I don't believe its just a carb craving because I'll eat anything. What I DO think it is, is feeling deprived. My nutrionist gave me 1600 calorie goal; so I…
