Squats Questions

Sorry for my newbiness. I wish there was a search function for a specific place on the website. I detest looking up info in the regular forum. I've been looking up different kinds of squats and am particularly interested in those that work the inner thigh. I've run across 2 so far - the Sumo and the Plie. I am unable to determine if these are the same or not. Some sites and threads say yes, some say no. One says they're the same but the name Sumo is for men and the name Plie is for women (because men don't like the ballet reference...?)
Anyway, are these the same and are they good for inner thigh? What is the difference in technique? I am not trying to spot reduce - I know better. I'm just wanting to incorporate more into my workouts as I am better able to handle it. Also, I don't have weights yet (working on that) but is it still beneficial to do these with just body weight?
Thanks for any advice. :flowerforyou:

Are these done with dumbbells? If so, yes, sumo and plié squats are the same.
As for inner thighs specifically....Sara or SS will have to answer that. I know that it is a compound exercise for quads, hamstrings, calves, glutes and even abs.
I believe you tend to go parallel with these while Goblet Squats are ATG. From experience, I've found that goblet squats are harder and I definitely felt it in my legs, including the inner thigh area.0
