Been looking back over my posts - i've been in this group since February turns out. Boy have I upped my exercise and activity! I also think i can go back to counting my 350 plus calorie burn days - i was at 66, then had a rather odd autumn exercise wise (house bound with new pup, CFS spike, multiple bad luck illnesses,…

Hi Another CFS person here .... Don't feel alone. Weight gain - cico, but dont think you cant excercise with CFs. Bear with me!! I think 3 things really help: and it is what the medics recommend in UK as best practise for CFS Graded Exercise. If you can - without stessing your body, ie getting fatigued overly - walk eg…

My story is heavy, heavy periods with huge hormone swings - totally spaced out . After a various drug trials the doc recommended a mirena coil. Cue body reaction - lots of antibiotics - becoming very ill - getting Chronic Fatigue and losing my job etc (luckily have income protection and a supportive hubby!) . Needless to…

Not sure if you are checking in on responses any more - but it would be good to know how you ate getting on now. You were given a lot of good advice. Just a thought but - you have dogs. Why not also set dog walking goals....good for weight loss, good cardio (if you ate brisk or hills come into it) and good for the mind. A…

There is a group on here called Swimmers! If you search on that the issue has certainly come up - (and we'd lOve to have even more swimmers of all levels and tyoes innthe group!)

So pleased for you Juliet3455! And my good news is - the nurse has 'signed off' my skin abscess and I should be back in the pool this week. Yay. A six week break .. Mmm maybe I will sink!?! First dip will hopefully be this Thursday with my daughter - her good news being she is getting her confidence back to rejoin her swim…

Hey everyone. I'm still adjusting to having a puppy (and recovering from a septic insect bite) - so that means no swimming at the mo, and changes to when/where/how long i can walk. (So far we are still outwalking the pup- but no doubt that will change as he is a working cocker.... ) So I think I will go for raising my…

So my infected insect bite that turned septic did not respond to antibiotics ~ and I spent last Saturday in A and E getting an abscess drained.....Very very painful... I'm on regular dressing changes, and not allowed to get the wound wet. And told healing is likely more months rather than weeks. But to be honest, what with…

so my septic insect bite on my knee didn't respond to the antibiotics - and I ended up with the emergency doctors, and getting an abcess 'drained' in A and E a week ago.... Very painful and unpleasant, and regular painful dressing changes. Needless to say, walking has not been high on the agenda (and swimming totally out).…

No. But I am missing it..... So I must be getting better from latest CFS relapse (and starting to survive new puppy impact!).

I have water proof I pod shuffle too. Not a 100% success - I have a hard job keeping the headphones in place which gets really annoying, and I can't read the volume/play etc dial without my reading glasses on (mmm), and I am useless at remembering to charge/download stuff, especially the podcasts which I prefer. However -…

Oh at last..... The puppy has had his jabs, I can take him to the park. The great outdoors!! I have felt so trapped! He is mainly sleeping thru the night now. That just leaves the constant watching for toilet training etc purposes... It is quite a project having a puppy, and so no surprise that my CFS has taken a bit of a…

Hi everyone - and welcome new faces -especially Debbie (you know why!) My last month was ok but then when splat as we got a puppy and I became fairly trapped in the house til he settles. Luckily he is gorgeous. Plus 3am wee breaks and other puppy demands have not been doing my CFS any favours ....and i am in energy…

23 Sept onwards.... Mmm - pretty much nothing. One day of rushing my daughter around, but the rest has been house bound - 2 days innthe car picking up the pup, theb unable to leave the wee beastie. He's adorable and settling in well - but waiting on the vaccines before can get him out, and on training him to be left. Ah…

I certainly relate to the plan ahead (CFS, lots of brain fog) advice - I try to buy in a range of food. I do a huge online shop every 2 months or so and get a veggie box that ranges from 'good meat to cook properly' to 'point and shoot' cooking for when I feel ill. If I do feel ill and crave comfort food, I give myself…

Quite agree! However it is a puppy and I want to train it to be left (not increase the likelihood of separation anxiety by leaving it too long too early). Hopefully I will be able to leave it for good chunks of time pretty soon! But until it is ready....
