I quit six weeks ago and I maintained my weight throughout. I'm just now getting back on the weight loss train. Good luck with your quit. I promise you, the first week is hard, but it DOES get better! I only have serious cravings about once a week now, if that. 99% of the time I don't even miss them. You can do it! Check…

I played a lot of bingo and I read the articles at whyquit.com until my eyeballs fell out. That place was and is a lifesaver. Check it out.

Yup, as of two hours ago I hit 50 days quit. My other half will be at one month quit on Monday. :)

Congratulations Barbara! It's wonderful, isn't it? I'm only two days behind you!

Reading the Law of Addiction at whyquit.com was probably the most important thing that has helped my quit. Understanding nicotine addiction and realizing that there is no "just one" cigarette, that it's all or none, gets me through the cravings. It totally gets easier. I'm having problems with eating too much, but saying…

that's very encouraging to hear. I'm almost at six weeks quit and I am struggling to control my eating. I've been logging into mfp so I don't lose my days in a row, but my food logging has been spotty at best. Also, I've been rudely ignoring pm's. Sorry! I'm still around and I guess I'm doing ok. I'm still quit and I…

i've been quit for just over a month and i'm still hungry all the time. Today was the first day in a week that I didn't eat over my maintenance calories. :( at first I lost a little, but then I gained seven lb last weekend and I'm playing catch up again. I've lost almost half of that seven. Not what you wanted to hear, I'm…

After tonight it will be one month for me and a week for my DF. Yay!

Congratulations and welcome to the new members, both those of you who recently quit and those of you that are doing it soon! Way to go! I have good news! My DF just decided to quit with me and he has successfully made it through 3 days now. I'm so proud of him!

I play a bingo game on Facebook when I want a few minutes to myself or I have a craving. It's just long enough and I have to pay attention just enough that I quickly forget about the cigarette.

Sorry I'm late, last week was crappy. I got down to a new low of 227, but I gained 7 this weekend. 233.6 was my weigh in this morning, and I didn't get any OWLs or NEWTs. Sorry everyone, really crappy week.
-
 I only smoked for 14 years and this is the longest I have ever quit. This is all new to me.
-
I'm experiencing the same. No cough and I'm not hacking anything up.
-
Thanks! How is everyone doing with their quit today? Mine is rolling right along

Ok, since last week we only had to do one thing for our NEWTS, I'm going to do the same. This is a huge one for me. I am going to walk my son to school in the morning. I walk him home from school every day but I always drive in the morning so I can sleep for an extra half hour. One day this week I will walk. For OWLS I…

I started parking in the back of parking lots unless I'm in an extreme hurry.

Hello everyone! Today is day 17 for me!
-
Today's weight is 230.4. I got my NEWTS, but I didn't get any OWLS. I got 100 exercise minutes last week.
-
You can do this! It really does get easier. A lot of people say that day 3 is the worst, but day 1 was the worst for me. Now on day 16 and I hardly even think about them.

Flour

Yes, exactly! I have to keep reminding myself of that. Sure, being fat is no good for my health, but it's better than lung cancer or emphysema. Today is day 14 for me!
-
Thank you!
-
Sounds good to me! I'm only an hour away from day 12. Cold turkey and I haven't had or asked for a single puff. The only time I even think about it any more is after dinner.

This is my second year hosting Thanksgiving but only my first year while trying to lose weight. I'm looking forward to it but also not looking forward to it *lol* We have a small gathering, just immediate family and a few friends. We're having the usual turkey, mashed potatoes (I make them plain now with just some milk and…

Hm, not so great, weight-wise. I quit smoking this week (on day 7) so I've been eating more to compensate. I'm trying not to, but it's happening anyway. I've also been stalled at around 230-233 for about a month now. *sigh* I'm trying.
-
I need to lose around 140-160 total. I still have 80-100 to go.
-
I quit cold turkey without anything (mostly because I'm poor, haha). I even live with two smokers, so this is especially hard. I think what is helping me to quit is remembering the fun I had running last week. It felt great! But the next hour afterwards was hell. I want to feel that high from running again, but I can't do…

You can do it! I'm on day 7 and it does get easier.
