Potato chips. I can't eat just one serving. I try, but they are a trigger food for me. I just try my best to not buy them but I'm not the only person in the house. So on rare occasions that I buy them for my fiance I just try to forget that they are in the house.

I can't wait until I can say that I'm 12 years quit. That's amazing!

Thanks everyone! I'm so excited because every pound I lose is a new adult low. I haven't been this small since high school. It feels pretty good.

Thank you!

Thanks everyone!

I'm 5' 4" and my only exercise is walking about 4 miles a day to take my son to and from school. I lost most of that weight last year since I quit smoking in November and I took a maintenance break to cope. I'm back on track again and ready to lose the rest. I eat about 1400/day + some of my exercise calories.

I'm on day 315. In less than two months I'll be one year quit and I'm so happy!

I started at 289 in May 2011 and now I'm at 215. I lost the first 60 in five months and then I quit smoking. I've struggled to lose weight since then, but I'm still working on it.

Thank you!

Welcome and congrats on 5 (hopefully now 6) smoke free days! We're not a very chatty bunch but welcome anyway! Try not to beat yourself up too much about your eating. Easier said than done I KNOW! I am trying to practice that myself. I'm three months quit and I think I'm just now getting over the binges.

Congratulations!

You're probably right. I'm only at 75 days quit. I just feel like I should be ready to get back on the train, you know?
-
Yay!

That's not pathetic at all. I've had my crying tantrums, too. Congrats on getting to ten days! :) I hit two months yesterday.

Smoking doesn't solve anything. It doesn't make life any easier. The stressful situation you may be in will still be there once the cigarette is gone and the poison is in your lungs! I hope you managed to hold onto your quit! I don't know about you but I want to quit so that I can be a runner and live each day to the best…

I don't wake up a lot but I have a terrible time falling asleep. But I've always had a hard time falling asleep, even as a teenager. Sometimes it can take two hours or more even if I am exhausted. . Congrats on making it to seven days! Keep up the good work!

Bump for the late night crowd.

I actually drink more coffee now than I did as a smoker! Only about 1-2 cups a day but I used to only drink 2-3 a week. After the first two weeks of quitting I only got cravings maybe once a week. It really does get better/easier. ETA: I did avoid some things at first that I knew would be triggers for me. I did the best I…

There's nothing wrong with creepy dudes that a kick in the nuts won't fix.

Why would anyone get involved with a married man? If he can cheat on her, he can cheat on you. What makes you special?
-
Don't fool yourself. If he adopted the kid, IT IS HIS BABY NOW! And even if you weren't sleeping with him, you are still having an emotional affair. That's just as bad. I feel so bad for his wife and kid.
-
Good for you! I quit without my fiance and lo and behold he quit himself three weeks later. Very nice and I hope it happens to you as well! Best of luck to you!

Almost forgot! There is a Quitting Smoking group here on MFP. Feel free to join us! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/755-quitting-smoking

This made me think of this article from whyquit.com and thought it might be helpful to you. http://whyquit.com/joel/Joel_01_13_gradual_withdrawal.html I've been quit for almost two months and I'm so happy! I maintained my weight for that whole time (even over the holidays I only gained some water weight but quickly lost…

You need to throw away your cigarettes and paraphernalia if you're going to make an honest effort. Otherwise you'll talk yourself into having "just one", and for nicotine addicts like you and me, there is no "just one". One=all. I know I'm sounding like a broken record in this group, but I suggest you read up at…
