Can you imagine having that woman as your mother-in-law? what a nut case!

WOW... if you start with that attitude you have already lost! Did my kids do things behind my back? Maybe, but that never stopped me from setting REASONABLE rules and enforcing them. We are parents and need to act like parents. NEVER be afraid of setting limits. On the other hand, a wise man and successful father told me,…

I am the father of 7. 5 in college, 1 high school and one graduated. All have done well and are well behaved people. The quick answer is 16. If there was some fancy dance a month or so before their 15th birthday, I would make an exception, but not for anything else. AND at 16 its double or group date ONLY. At 18... single…

I am shocked that only ONE person agreed with me... sigh

The one thing that MFP lacks is a way to share recipes with friends so we don't have to re-type them... lol

Tortilla Soup!! yum I am a soup lover. Campbells Healthy Request and Progresso Heart Healthy soups are my staple lunches. Lots of variety. (caution ONE can is TWO servings... but even two servings is low cal... why do they do that?) BUT homemade soups are the best. I sometimes get a big pot and put some water and bullion…

All good advice! You will find good support here. Search for MFP friends that have had similar goals as yourself but are further along the path than you are. Go to "Community" then "Find Members" Also, read the success stories here. They are amazing. You are a HERO for making this effort! YOU can do it.

Tell him everything you have written here. Talk to him about your feelings and how you want to be a healthy you. If he honestly doesn't care about your outside, it shouldn't matter if your outside is big or small!

Which is of course what I meant... geesh.
-
TOO funny! That made my day!!

Be honest in your reporting... make SURE you get it all in. If you do, and you are still under your calories... EAT!

Some things I have learned... 1. In the first weeks of starting exercise program most folks gain weight because muscle weighs more than fat. SO don't just weigh yourself... MEASURE to see what your body is really doing. 2. NEVER eat less than about 125O calories... OR try to loose too much too fast. Your body goes into…

Don't need to eat your calorie goal as long as you eat more than 1200 calories per day.

The biggest motivator in my life is knowing that if I do NOT exercise and eat properly I WILL die younger. I work with elderly people and see that the active ones are the happy ones. Go to a nursing home and talk to the residents. Who do you want to be? As for me, I will exercise. I will eat a proper diet. Good Luck.

YES! YES! YES! At lest half of them (or more) but not all, UNLESS you are below 1200 without eating some back! (=starvation mode= no weight loss) Eating back some of the exercise calories is a little REWARD to me for being a good boy and doing my exercises. It motivates me.
