5'10 and currently maintaining at 135-140. I dropped 25lbs in one year, but put on 15 of it again last winter. I have spent the last year getting rid of it again and am FINALLY back to maintaining. I have an open food diary and am pretty active in posting. Feel free to add.

I truly hope this works for you to get to your goal but I am a little concerned about the long-term success of the plan. Stick to it and keep those status updates coming!

My goal continued to change over time, and still does. But I was ultimately going for less body fat.

Stunning results!

I log as I am cooking. For homemade food, use the Recipe tool. It's super easy!

You could log it as aerobic exercise, but a heart rate monitor should give you an accurate number based on your intensity.

Have you ever utilized the recipe tool under the "Food" section of the website? I use it quite often when I make recipes from scratch. You can change the serving size per batch as you like and the calculations will adjust.

I have struggled with emoitnal eating most of my life. When my boufriend of 4 years moved out of state, it hit me hard. I started eating... SHOCK! Once I came to the realization of what I was doing, I made a big change. When my emotions were starting to get to me, I laced up my sneakers and went for a walk. Not only did it…

I tried it for the first time last year and it was fun. The other people in the class were SUPER supportive and I didn't feel any judgement when I was tripping over my own feet ;) The location I went to didn't seem to take anything too seriously, its about moving more and having some fun at the same time.

I have an open food diary and am always willing to add active MFP fridns :) I am in maintenance mode now but spent the last 6 months shedding the pounds.

When my weight got within 5 lbs of the lowest healthy BMI, I switched to maintenance. And compared to my height, getting much smaller would be nearly impossible without drastically changing my lifestyle. I still lost a bit after changing my calorie goal, but have now found a good balance and am happy to eat more :) 5' 10,…

WOW! You need to get your story out to more people. It is an amazing example of will-power. From a fellow Michigander, keep it up and avoid hibernation this winter ;)

Keep in mind the FDA calorie recommendation is also based on the recommended amount of daily activity (roughly 30 mins of moderate intensity activity)...

Try starting out breakfast with a piece of fruit followed up by cereal. Explain that both foods have benefits so you need some of each.

I started increasing my protein when I was always SORE! Working out 3-4 days per week I was always sore; my muscles never seemed the heal from the previous workout (running, aerobics, or weights). When I increased my protein, I was healing much faster, noticed an increase the speed of my weight loss and incraese in muscle…
