  • Don't drop the calories. You are already eating 1000 fewer than your body burns per day. I wonder if you are spreading your food intake out. Eating little bits constantly helps jump up the metabolism.
  • If your Sis was trying to lose before, she might want to keep tracking her intake. It is easy to lose perspective when "eating for two" a baby doesn't mean twice the calories. When I was pregnant, I was tired all the time and had trouble making good choices. That contributed to a gaul bladder attack.
  • Welcome! Make sure you are starting off eating the recommended calories. When you say your energy is low already it sounds like you might be cutting back too much:)
  • Yes, I think you may have slowed down your metabolism. Your metabolism slows down when it thinks you're facing a food shortage. It is conserving energy. Just increasing activity doesn't help. This goes back to caveman days when we may have gone through long periods of shortage but still had been very active. You have to…
  • Cinnamon stick? Don' know if it will compare.

  • Don't forget to take measurements! Those can change even when the scale doesn't. (and especially if you're hormonal) go do some deep, meditative stretching to help the brain and the bod :) You are doing great!
  • Look under the tools tab for the BMI calculator to get a range. My reading has me more focused on waist size. The average, healthy woman should have a 32 in waist. I've lost 4 inches and have 6 to go. It's a good measure because actual weight can vary depending on many factors including muscle mass. Personally I would like…

  • How about putting the scale away. Keep doing what you know is good and healthy and stop stressing about the scale. Focus on some other measurable goal for a bit.

  • I just have to say that the book "You on a Diet" focuses on how belly fat is made and how to combat it because it is extremely unhealthy.
  • History is over. Just move on from here. Feel free to add me if you like.

  • Cool! I'm working on making MFP my obsession too.
  • Fuji apples cut up and sprinkled with cinnamon. You can also throw in some walnuts.
  • Well, college was forever ago for me, but one thing is for sure. Colleges have lots and lots of nice sidewalks for walking and running. There will also be motivated, healthy people out there on them. You will start out feeling lost and alone any way (sad, hard truth). So when you look for friends, look for some…
  • Ow! I know it can be hard to adjust when you had a plan, but take a deep breath. It is just as important to work on healthy eating, muscle tone, and flexibility. All of which you can do from a sitting position. Feel free to add me if you want another MFP buddy:smile:
  • I can't see your diary, but I'm going to guess that you are building muscle, which weighs more than fat. It is really helpful to take your measurements and see how they change. The scales only tell part of the story.
  • You are doing awesome, since the Doc didn't say it. You've got to do what you've got to do, but I'd consider using my energy to either find a doctor who can listen or finding some research that connects your health issues to other than weight.
  • I don't care much for video games, so I don't dig the WII. I also felt like the WII FIT yoga put my center of balance in the wrong places compared to real yoga. I would suggest renting or borrowing a WII for a while before you buy. It's the same plan I have for all future WII stuff my kids want.

  • Hey Sara, Please add me to your friends' list. I'm glad you got that message. For the past 10 weeks or son, I've been eating the recommended calories for my weight and lost 151bs and 4 inches of waist. It is OK. I hope you find the tools to help you here.
  • Heyya! I'm just under 5'4" and need to lose 30-50 lbs, although I'm focusing most on inches. I need to loose 7 inches of belly to be healthy. I would love to get in on a support group.
  • It is hard to keep the intensity up. Writing about it is an awesome step, probably the best. Another idea I have had, is to go read some weight loss inspiration. I know that when I read about someone else's success, it pumps me up to do the same. For me, I think it is even better to use audio books. It is kind of brain…
