it sounds like it could be your shoes thats causing the knee problem. you need to get your gait analysed if you haven't done already, and get new shoes, ideally this weekend, so this will give you 2 weeks before your race to wear them in, you dont want to wear brand new shoes on race day without putting a couple of miles…

i go by what the machine says at the gym, like you say MFP overestimates cals. i would prefer to have the lesser reading so you know you are sticking within your goal and not overeating.

i didnt like drinking water either before i started MFP, i also would only drink it when exercising. i agree with this, as i weigh myself everyday and yesterday when i weighed it told me i had lost 4lb, i couldnt believe it so stepped off and then back on again and only showed 2lb loss, done same thing again on - off and 2lb lost, this is what i went with, sometime it does take 3 - 4 times on and off to get the same…
