  • Random :-) I weigh about 3 or do times a week as mine can vary so gives me am idea of the overall trend

  • Losing weight does give you more confidence. I've not gone topless on a beach for well over a decade, but went on holiday in November, and having lost 50lb spent lot of the time shirtless :-)
  • I currently use PureGym, but just joined the Leeds one. They seem to have same brand of equipment, Matrix machines, Livestrong cycles, as puregym do. Downside not 24hr opening, but upside do have car parking
  • Very well done, I bet everyone can see the change in you at an instant. I've been boosted by people who haven't seen me for a few months been amazed. Realising how far you've come on will give you the motivation to carry on.
  • Why not keep the time and adjust the calories, that way you can still keep track of how long you are exercising for
  • Mine was 40 when I started 5 months ago and now it's a smidgen under 30. Happy to no longer be obese but merely overweight :-) . My muscle mass is now higher, just, than body fat, which happy about too. My initial end goal was to get bmi under 25, but probably going to go on other measurements.
  • Aiming to lose 7lb in december, before christmas, lost 3.8, so on target so far. Must resist mince pies, lol.
  • The expenditure takes into account how much you want to lose per week. I aim for 2lb a week, but currently at 3lb a week due probably because of the cardio exercise. It is a question on what you are actually losing - sticking to an amount by any site is no use if you are not losing or losing to your desired rate.
  • You'll find riding to the train station quicker than walking. Are you taking it on the train or storing it at the station?

  • Very good, especially if you think that 33lbs is 14.5% of your starting body mass. Its people like you that help keep me motivated, so I too can at some point post a story :-)
  • PMSL - I read that somewhere (Dr Oz on Opera), and its probably a reason all fat men want to slim (even if we only admit it to ourselves) To not wince when I see photo's of myself. to get the body I deserve and boost my confidence. No longer be just described as "nice" or "lovely" but "sexy" or "fit"

  • If you want to make a slide show ensure the camera is in the same position each time and so are you.

  • I suppose everyone tracks things differently, but I too find MFP high on their estimations. I only count exercise of going to gym (as this is above my normal stuff), and I only count cardio not strength. MFP says 30 mins on elliptical trainer is 550 calories. If I do it at 70rpm and say avg resistance of 16 (out of 25) the…
  • Oh sounds good. It will encourage me to do more sessions. Are you using MFP rates our reported rates? All the machines at my gym are way less than the MFP app suggests.
  • It is all about what you've been doing too. If you've done a heavy strength workout your body will be repairing muscles over the next 24 hours, so protein just before bed will help muscle repair whilst asleep. I'm surprised you can have a big meal before bedtime (although have done nights occasionally I can appreciate its…
  • I pee, or almost, reading some of these posts :-D
  • It is fluid intake rather than only when you drink water, so count tea and coffee even though they are diuretics
  • You are eating super low cal stuff. I did myself a similar stirfry and it was only 400 cals (incl oil) too low for my main evening meal and I was full too. It will be hard to get the cals on low cal foods. You probably need to include some healthy fats. Like having some nuts and oily fish. Not sure if you are avoiding…
  • Just ensure where ever you go has internet access and keep logging in here
  • So true, last week I was the same weight as six days before - I hadn't had time to go to the gym. Went that day and did a couple of heavy resistance cardio plus some strength/free weights. Next day I'd lost 4lb and 1% body fat turned into water. keep track of other measurements, like waist, as it can help show a change…
  • rofl, same for me. Got the Android app then thought I'd log a day. My OMG was realising what I "normally eat" - healthy but LARGE!
  • Asda have similar quid lines (incl cherries). It great that fruit is becoming cheaper
