PR'd my deadlift today at 385 lbs. My strategy now is to work on my form and then try for a PR again in about a month or so. I want to hit 400 lbs this year.

On November 30th my gym started a competition called "the Sunday Series" where for 4 Sundays in a row there would be an unannounced workout and whichever man and woman did the best overall would win. Today I learned that I won top male athlete much to my surprise. Here is what I did: WOD 1 WOD 2 WOD 3 WOD 4 The past week…

This was the part of the CF Open which really made me salty as my gym did the same thing. It made me feel like i was being forced to do something I did not want to do. All the workouts were stupid hard and I did not feel "ready" to do them. As a consequence, I sucked hard. I don't go to CrossFit to compete and I don't go…

I got so frustrated at CF yesterday. I felt like I was making great progress with my snatch but my coach said that my chest is way to far forward in the bottom position. Basically I lean too far forward whenever I do squats and it really screws up everything. Oh, and I am not even close to getting double unders and the…

I did not start using chicken thighs until I started with paleo so I can understand his hesitation. That being said, thighs are definitely more tasty!

Yesterday we did sprints in our WOD, something that I don't think we ave ever done. I was shocked at how fast I ran, I finished first in my class every time.

Yesterday was my third fasting Thursday in as many weeks and it was definitely the toughest as I woke up kinda hungry. Still, no adverse effects.

I think bananas are super delicious.

WOD from yesterday: 10 Min AMRAP Ground to Overhead I got 60 reps in. RX was 135 but I went with 115. It actually felt better at the end than it did at the beginning, like I was fully warmed up to the movement. Maybe next time the WOD is similar I will try to RX it.

Getting started is sometimes the toughest part.

well done!

It is going to be kinda tough to make it to CrossFit today between work and a social activity I have planned tonight. But our WOD today is one I have heard lots and lots about but never done; Fran. I know, spooky fingers. Anyhoo I brought my gym bag to work with me just in case I am able to leave the office early enough to…

The Tom Kha Yum soup was actually quite good. It was not really even all the exotic tasting. To be fair though, I love Thai.

One thing that I have always liked about yoga is that it seems very easy to modify for all fitness levels so the idea of getting stronger in order to be able to do yoga does not really compute for me. Why do you feel it is necessary to have to "build up" to doing yoga?

Anyone who says yoga is easy hasn't done it or hasn't done it right.

Thanks to the Hero WOD from Wednesday (Sean) I am sore from my mid chest all the way around to my back. I don't think I have even been sore in this area before...but I don't think I have ever done 110 pull ups before so that is probably why...

I am so glad I starred this thread, I hope it continues to be updated.

Last night we did the Hero WOD "Sean" which is: 10 RFT 11 Chest to Bar Pull Ups 22 Front Squats 75/45 I went with 45 lbs and finished in 27:10. My calf cramped up really bad with two rounds left but my coach helped me get it back to normal so I could finish. The good news is that for once I did not rip my hands on the…
