Congratulations on your weight loss! You are doing very well. I lost a little over 100 pounds a few years ago (my goal was to lose 130-I didn't think I'd ever come close to that, let alone my true goal of losing 150). I did really well keeping it off until I moved, my routine was thrown off, I quit weighing my food, and…

I reset the balance of the scale so that when the spoon was on it, it was ZERO. That way, I was only measuring the weight of the product. The spoon itself weighs more than 44g. This is not my first time to work the scale.

this was just the example I was using. Following the directions was almost 25% off. I've always known there was a difference. I do research for a living and I'm a numbers person. I like to be as accurate as possible. Does that make me slightly anal? Yep. Oh well, it's my choice. The point is even following directions you…

my first bench press was in middle school - I maxed at 90 lbs. Now I bench 125-150, squat body weight, and >500 on leg press, but I worked with a trainer for six months to get to that. I think when I started with my trainer my 5 rep max on bench was 105, don't remember what the press was.

I worked with a trainer for a while and had the same issues when I moved and had to go the weight room alone. It wasn't so much what to do, it was the how often and in what order I had trouble with. I read a few books, basically they said work the muscles big to small, focus on upper body in one session, lower body in the…

My day always starts out with red numbers (I plan the whole day in advance), and my goal every day is to make the red numbers turn green. No cheating, nothing is banned. If I want it, I have to earn it.

chocolate milk is a good alternative. I like the organic horizons low fat one. But as for protein powder, I like the GNC's Amplified line. I've only had the cookies n' cream and the chocolate, and I mix them with milk instead of water. Taste pretty good, won't break the bank but are still expensive.

Go to the APPs tab on the MFP site and select FitBit. It will walk you though the syncing process. You don't need to be able to sync your fitbit to your phone, it will sync with your computer whenever you are within range. I like that I can sync it with my phone because then I get more accurate updates as to my activities…

Same here. I don't need a weapon if you make me waste my coffee.

Definitely REAL. I was a skeptic until my brother-in-law took me with him to get fitted (he's an elite marathoner). I had heel and shin pain prior to the fitting, and after running was actually enjoyable. While my muscles were still worked and I had occasional soreness from hard work, it was a world of difference with my…

I think the default setting for the macros on MFP is a little off kilter. You can customize them for your needs. I go for about 45-50% from carbs, 25-35% from fats, and the remainded from protein, but I work out 6 days a week and do heavy weight lifting, so that works for me. It depends on what your activity level is and…

When I say certain foods are "off limits", it makes me want them more. So a few years ago, I made a new rule, and said "no banned foods." I started viewing my daily caloric intake as a budget, not a diet. If I wanted to eat something that is less healthy, I had to budget for it, even if it meant leaving a hundred extra…

Shots on you!!!

YES! That's what I make when I get a craving for buffalo chicken!

Rocky Raccoon and Blackbird. Actually, the White Album. I pull out the vinyl and listen to it when I'm missing my dad. But I love so many, it is hard to stop listing songs after just 2!!

I average 900 a day, but I walk 6-7 miles (I don't have a car and live in a very walkable city), and about 500-600 of those are an hour to an hour and a half at the gym (based on my HRM). I swim, do Zumba, lift weights, etc. Basically I just keep working until I hit my burn goal.

Personally, I hate running. I went to a spin class and was bored OUT OF MY MIND - the instructor had the most monotone voice, the music was lame, and I actually got off the bike and walked out after 20 minutes. I have a road bike and LOVE cycling outside. Give me the real world. As for working out, most of my gym workouts…

foods high in protein and fiber. You didn't say how much you are exercising, how much of a deficit you are running (2 lbs a week, 1 pound a week?). I eat every few hours. I have my calories set (manually) at 1500/day, because I know on a given day I'm going to burn an additional 300 calories through exercise. On my…

Ooops, sorry, missed that part.

You didn't calculate your TDEE or BMR correctly if TDEE is below BMR. BMR is what your body would burn to keep you alive if you were to literally stay in bed all day. edited: Recalculate your BMR first. What is your "goal" loss? If you are trying to lose 2 pounds per week, then MFP is calculating your daily calorie burn to…

at beckyloo80, GREAT smile!! (I had to play along because I just changed my profile pic to this, hehe)

I forgot to say, I have a Fitbit too. I wear it all day long, and then the HRM only when I'm working out. When I enter my activity on the fitbit site, I manually enter the calories off my HRM for my workouts (which include Zumba, cycling, swimming, strength training, running, kick boxing, etc).

I have a SportLine Duo, and I LOVE it.

You had me at "bacon"

You're completely right to be freaked out, but freaking out burns more calories, so don't forget to eat them back.
-
I eat 1700-1800 a day and I've lost 15 lbs since January 2 when I came back. Don't worry about the correlation between ww points and this. Just worry about this, because all it is is a tool for you to track your calorie budget.

I was working out with my trainer one morning about 2 1/2 years ago (this was when I was in EXCELLENT shape and preparing to run a 1/2), and we were on the track at the gym. The goal was to do lunges the short ends of the track (it's 1/8 mile) and then sprint the long sides. Well, I did the lunges, stood up to sprint, took…

Just go. Who cares that you're not in the best shape. Everyone has to start somewhere. I remember the first time I went to the gym at 303 pounds, yep, I was intimidated, but I worked my way up, and I noticed after a while, nobody is paying attention to me anyway. I look around at others to set goals for myself. But now I…

THIS^^^ I lost 100+ pounds over 12 months without "banishing" any particular food. If I had a craving for something, I would budget it in, including fast food or restaurant hamburgers on occasion. The only thing that STOPPED my progress was when I quit tracking and budgeting. (so yes, I'm back to lose 30 I gained over 2…
