try Flat Out wraps. they're big enough to be cut in half to use like tortillas, are packed with protein and fiber, and are kinda stretchy when used as a wrap. About 100cal each (only need one, not two), but with 8g of fiber and 9g of protein. Other alternatives, especially for breakfast, are Thomas English Muffins. The…

This is what weightloss looks like. It is not linear as we would hope. There are going to be frustrating fluctuations and stalls, especially for females. Keep at it, results will come if you are consistent. edited to correct image link

I can't do cheat meals. They actually set off my binge trigger. When I follow the "whatever I want in moderation as long it fits into my daily goals" mentality, I don't binge because I'm not depriving myself of anything. When I say, "I can't have that because it's bad, except for a 'cheat' meal", during that cheat meal I…

Every day. On purpose.

no, because the first change I made was no more mindless eating.

I don't care what other people wear to swim laps. Wear what you want as long as it fits the pool rules. I only judge when someone is breaking pool etiquette (joining a lane without a heads-up, joining a lane that swims at a different pace than you, etc.)

Oh, good, you have a goal. Work toward it.

Go to a different gym. I go to one that only offers classes. I chat with people at the gym, but the classes are intense (HIIT), and there's no time for chatting and if you can talk while working out you're not working hard enough. It's a little more expensive than other gyms, but totally worth it. I have made more progress…

I'm 185 now, but my measurements and BF% are much lower than other girls my height and weight, so I did the math to calculate what my weight would be at my ideal BF% (21%) and figured it's 160 - which still puts me at an "overweight" BMI, but that is a flawed calculation for some people.

I steer away from processed food, but I had the same problem with avocado. Then I found 100 calorie snack packs of wholly guacamole. The ingredient list is about as good as it gets (it's guac, so it's got spices added), but I use those snap-closed chip clips that seal and put them on the packet before I open it, then I…

olive oil mayo is relatively good (and much better tasting than light mayo - and with half the calories). Avocado is quite delicious.

Just learn moderation and real portion size, and most importantly, DON'T QUIT!!!! I have a rule that no food is banned, if I want it I have to plan it into my diary for the day and try to stay under my calorie goal. Sometimes that either makes me decide I don't want the food, encourages me to make a healthier version…

Two things:1. I did Zumba for 6 months, 60 minutes classes, and burned about 500-700 calories according to my HRM. But your age, cardiovascular fitness (which determines your heart rate and recovery rate) and weight will determine how many calories you burn. At the time I weighed between 30-60 pounds more than I do…

Chances are you are NOT considered active. After months of data collection from my three high-tech weight-management tools (fitbit, smart scale, and HRM, all of which I use consistently), I am barely burning at "lightly active" daily rate and that's doing circuit training 6 days a week + walking 3-5 miles a day. I keep…

Whatever you want - but be smart about it. Dressing on the side, box half to take home or split with a friend. Unless you HAVE to have them, nix the appetizers and dessert. I think you're already doing the most important thing, though, and that's planning ahead before you go. Enter "Olive Garden" into the food database and…

shooooot, I know I was raised in a unique family, but my grandpa has always considered the girls to be both physically and intellectually equal to the men. My mom (his daughter) married my dad, who had the same beliefs. In fact, the girls were more athletic than the boys! Just last week I went to my grandpa's to get a…

I did it, and it worked well for me. Started in January 2011, got to about the 7th week and switched to the 10K one, finished it and ran an official 10K in mid-April. When I started in January I couldn't run one lap around a track or between two lamp posts on the street.

I lose in spurts. My scale won't move for weeks, or even goes up (I weight daily, too), and then one morning I'll step on the scale and 3 pounds are gone. My weight reports look like a freakin' EKG printout, but as long as it's trending downward, I'm not worried.

I think that's one of the hardest concepts for people to get. I also only eat full fat except for dairy (I also eat 2% or skim milk cheese). Dietary fat =/= body fat. Our bodies need fats for the production of certain chemicals and to perform some functions. The advertising industry has done so well to convince us that…

You didn't gain it overnight, so don't expect to lose it overnight. If you want to lose 1 pound a week, you need to have a deficit of 3,500 calories for that week. That being said, there are many other factors at play and everything from humidity to your hormone cycle will have an effect on the number the scale spits out.…

Start small. You like corn, so try mixing some peas in with the corn. I cannot stand peas on their own (I gag), but when I mix them with corn, they are just fine. Swap out sweet potatos for regular potatos. I like to cut them thin and crisp and bake them for homemade sweet potato fries (slice them really thin, give them a…
