The down side to losing weight and doing exercise!

Hmmm almost 70 pounds down and you would think I would be dancing round the house in joy... No! no I am not , but I am trying to see the funny side ><

So far I have broken two toes ... on my exercise bike! (running about and major stubbing accident)
Torn my achillies tendon on my right foot ...jogging (Please buy decent running shoes lol) which left me with a swollen foot and ankle for 9 weeks!!!!
Femoral hernias ...not one but 2! Consultant said it could have been from too much lifting or because I was so fat for so long ...
Saggy skin ... my poor thighs jiggle more now than when I was my heaviest :O Yes I squat, bike, swim walk, jog and do yoga all to no avail .. thank goodness for Spanx, and blindfolding is now much more acceptable yay to 50 shades of grey :D
A smaller bank account...having to buy more clothes now I have dropped 4 sizes
A wedding and engagement ring that no longer fits...must resize before it flings off and hits me in the eye while I bop about to Just Dance in the living room
Bored friends and family hearing about how many calories every bit of food on the planet contains... I really needed to dial it back for a time with that one, and finally friends that instead of saying how well I have done, now tell me how old I look with the weight loss!

So to sum it up I thought I would be dancing about the house in joy, but in a way I miss being the chubby woman who didn't have injuries and look old, but instead enjoyed her cake without a broken body lol

Oh well perhaps its time for botox and maybe some bubble wrap for the last 10 pounds!

  • First - congrats on 70lbs gone!!! I am hoping to post that someday (long ways from now LOL). I hear you though about the downside. About 6 years ago I went on a tear to lose weight, I was eating right, exercising A LOT! I made a great start, shed about 25 pounds, and then the final straw was a month long boot camp. Loved it really felt great even though I was the biggest, oldest and slowest there, it was about me. Unfortunately it was the final straw, my body collapsed on me. I know I was going to get it sometime but I developed stenosis of the spine and all the pounding on the pavement aggravated a tumor in my foot (benign but it had to be removed). So here I am six years later, exercising smarter, I know what to do to avoid my stenosis flaring up, I have had the foot surgery, so I have a numb foot for the rest of my life but at least I can walk again for more than 20 minutes without having to sit down from the pain.

Your bank account will recover, take some of the clothes to a consignment store I am sure they are almost brand new. And better to make your rings smaller than have them cut off like had to do once (horribly sad memory - so embarrassing).

    Cheers
    Joanne

It's cost me a lot of money between workout equipments and dvds and clothes, plus the gym membership... And yeah the loose skin is awful but not as bad as when it was full of fat, at least for me, lol.

Try nomorerack for bras. They sometimes run specials 6/40.00
Don't know about the quality, but not seeing too many complaints.
