I'm in! I like the FB idea too!!

Yes, that is true. I personally do well until someone offers me something I shouldn't have...."Oh, we're going to order a pizza, you're going to eat some, right???"....grrrr...I don't say 'no' very well. If you have a day where you just make all of the wrong choices, move on and focus on tomorrow--that's the best advice I…

A break for a day? Yes, that's ok. A break for a few days, week, etc.? Nooooo. I took a break in March and didn't come back until September!

I don't know about unhealthy, but it isn't unrealistic--I've lost 10 pounds last month and 5 this month (and it's halfway through the month, so I am aiming for 10 total for October), so it's doable.

Thank you guys so much! I'm going to be doing some cooking this weekend.

I am calorie counting and I changed my carbs section in 'goals' to 45%. I've read that limiting carbs helps with PCOS because of insulin resistance, but I'm a carb girl so that's the best I can do.

Double post...

I'm not an expert, but in your situation I would probably take the amount of calories yoga burned, then the amount of calories that low-impact aerobics burn, and then average the two. I have a ballet video that I counted as pilates until I used my HRM to gauge it and it was only a little lower than a low-impact aerobics…

I'm the same way--except I can't run for that long, haha. I can run about a quarter of a mile non-stop--but when I started last month, I couldn't run farther than down my driveway. The more you practice, the better results you'll see. Just keep at it!

Thanks for posting this! I had been saving up to get a pair of Shape-Ups, I'm glad to find this out now so I can spend the money on a decent pair of running shoes.

My advice is to wean yourself off of them--I used to drink 4 or 5 cans of soda per day, now I'm down to 1.5 over a six week period of slowly cutting back. By next month, I will be down to only .5 a can per day. And by Thanksgiving I plan to be soda-free!

Haha, my 2 year old son likes to jump on my back and go "giddy up Mommy!"

I just did my end-of-week endurance test on one hundred pushups and I'm up to 83

I'm losing around 1.8 lb/week. I eat back most of my exercise calories, but try to end up with a 100-200 calorie surplus at the end of the day. I typically eat around 1500-1600 calories, and I allow myself 1 high-calorie meal (sometimes above my goal, but not above maintenance) per week. In addition to recording everything…

I just had this problem recently--my monthly visitor was late by over a week! After ruling out pregnancy, I'd give it a little while to show up before rushing to the doctor, but if it continues to be missing I would at least call and talk to a nurse at your Gyn's office.

It's really difficult the first few days--especially if you're not really in shape to begin with! I did see a few inches of loss after the first 10 days or so of the program. I find that I get just as good of a workout (calorie wise!) with Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout as I do with 30DS and I don't want to cry when I'm…

First off, congrats! While pregnant, you should eat 300 over maintenance-- you need an extra 300 daily to support baby. Follow that and you should be fine! I only gained four pound with my second pregnancy by doing just that.

Its basically the same--they assign points based off of nutritional value. If you would log everything anyway, why would you want to pay someone to do practically the same thing?

I think you can probably eat them on some days, but not every day--your body won't go into 'starvation mode' from eating under your calories one or two days, but if you consistently do, it may. I try not to eat my exercise calories unless I've burned a LOT of calories. On a typical day, I burn about 300-500 calories via…

I didn't think Paranormal Activity was scary until the part where she's standing by the bed, that was really scary to me. Also, the end of the Blair Witch Project with him standing in the corner really scared me too, although the movie all in all wasn't too scary. My favorite is the remake of Amityville Horror and The…

Well, I think the weather impacts my ability to run. Yesterday it was hot (nearly 90) and very humid and I only made it 3.5 intervals before I just couldn't run anymore because my chest was hurting and my heart rate wasn't going down during the walking parts. I did walk the rest of the program--power walking during the…

I have very, very short legs and it takes me about 20 minutes to walk a mile going as fast as I can. Even when I jog and run I can only go a mile in about 15 minutes. Energy expended equals that of someone going 4-4.5 mph (I can easily burn 100+ calories per ten minutes) when I walk, but my legs just can't go any faster.

Change your lifestyle to something more active, since it's related to your job.

I have a bit more time to respond now, so I'll tell you some of the things I've learned in the last 6 weeks of my weight loss adventure... --You just started walking, so your muscles are probably retaining a bit of water and repairing themselves. If you were like me and not active in the least before starting, your body…

I try to not do a cheat 'day', but on special occassions a cheat meal is ok. I make sure to keep my cal totals under my BMR for the day, but I do let myself go above my goal. Birthdays, holidays, etc. In my opinion, I think it's reasonable. After you lose all the weight, will you never ever eat a piece of cake or an order…
-
What are you doing differently? If you just started exercising, it's common for your muscles to retain some water, which would make the scale say you didn't lose any weight. Stick with it, the scale will cooperate soon!!!

I'm in--I want to lose more than 10 pounds by Christmas--I'm shooting for 20+--but 10 is a great place to start.

I have the same problem with being hungry for the rest of the day if I eat breakfast. I used to not get hungry until 4-5 pm, I was losing a lot of weight by skipping breakfast and lunch. Since I started making myself eat breakfast not only do I get hungry fast if I don't eat it, but I am constantly hungry for the rest of…

That sounds about right--you should be losing 2 lb per week if you're goals are set to that. Congrats on your loss!

I do it as 'dancing, general'. I absolutely love DDR! Our game (PS2) has a function that lets you put in your weight and it estimates calories burned much like MFP would do.
