  • I counted cals while pregnant, but didn't exercise (dr orders) and I managed to actually lose weight while pregnant. The tiredness will go away in a few months--think of it as preparation. My son is 5 months old and I am more exhausted now than I ever was while pregnan.
  • Give it some time--around 'that time of the month', I gain 7-8 pounds regardless of what I eat or drink, and a week later it's gone. Maybe it's just getting to be around that time for you.
  • Nope, I couldn't take that much time off of work and be away from my family that long. That, and I definitely don't want my emotional baggage aired on television for the world to see. No thank you!

  • If you have room in your calories, drink it. Just don't only drink sodas....one every so often won't do you harm.
  • Welcome back! I was on the site in 2011 and lost almost 30 pounds, then I got pregnant and stopped keeping track of things....now I'm only 2 pounds from where I began with a 4 month old son, and I'm really buckling down and focusing for 2013. If you want, you can add me as a friend. 2013 will rock!
  • I'm in! 254 today, working towards 234 by Christmas.
  • I'm at 1550/day, and a typical day looks like this: Breakfast: Cereal (My fav is Frosted Flakes, not the healthiest but better than a donut) Lunch: A toasted egg sandwich and an apple/grapes/some sort of fruit. Dinner: Usually something with chicken...grilled breast with a baked potato, baked chicken and rice and gravy,…
  • The amount of calories you need to add depends a lot on how much/often your baby nurses. Some women only need 300, some need 600-700 extra according to my doctor. It could be that you aren't getting enough, since your supply is dropping...make sure you drink tons and tons of water and if you're still hungry, snack on…
  • Way to go, sometimes you need to indulge a little bit just to keep you motivated and going. Chocolates once and awhile as a treat = fine....as long as you know your limits. Good for you! I wish I loved myself enough to send myself Godiva....
  • I put bottles of water in the freezer for a few hours until they're slightly icy and I can drink 20 oz. in less than 10 minutes that way. I love water now.
  • I've been heavy with all four of my pregnancies. With #1, I started off at 202 and ended at 240. She was 7lb13oz, and I was fussed at for gaining too much weight. With #2, I was 245 and delivered at 249, and my OB was fine with it, he just kept making sure I was eating healthily. He was 7lb4oz. With #3, I started at 250…
  • How exciting for those of you just finding out! I'm currently 16.5 weeks, due August 15th. We tried for nearly two years (started trying in January 2010, found out I was pregnant December 2011) and it was such a relief to finally happen. This is baby #4 for us, and we've had a loss, so that makes it even more special.…
  • 1. How far along are you? I am 15w5d (due Aug. 15, 2012) 2. Do you know baby's gender? Yes, it's a boy! 3. If so, do you have a name picked out? We're pretty sure we're going with Cael, but it's not 100% certain. 4. Are you showing? Yes, it's my 4th child, so I started showing pretty early 5. Do you have a Linea Nigra,…
  • I hate shaving. I only do it when necessary---i.e., when someone will see my legs. The only downside to this is that I'm pregnant, and I had a scare where I had to go to the ER, and in my panic I had to hurry and half-*kitten* shave my legs before I could leave so I wouldn't feel grizzly while there.
  • Add me if you like - I am pregnant and have been on restrictions for activity for over a month now, but I'm finally being allowed to do low-impact exercise and I'm planning on breaking out my video starting tomorrow!
  • Also, as you continue forward, you'll learn roughly what most things you eat have in terms of calories--I know most of my regular staples off of the top of my head, just from seeing them over and over and over again. So going by what I know, I am able to guestimate which one is the closest.
  • If I don't have the label to look at or a restaurant website, I go with the one with the highest confirmations.
  • I don't have time exercise all at once....so I'll do 100 push ups or 100 crunches at odd points during the day at work, I jog in place for 5-20 minutes when my work day allows it (when the phones aren't ringing and no one else is here to see me, haha), and I try to get in a video at night if I get the chance, after the…
  • This describes me perfectly! Insulin resistance, hormone imbalances, body shape, trouble losing even when I am strict with calories....I have noticed that when I exercise regularly, the weight melts off. Thanks for sharing!
  • You can do it! Add me if you'd like. I have 3 kids and definitely understand the battle of the baby-bulge.
  • We eat a lot of shredded bbq chicken--you can do it on either the crock pot or in the oven, and we take several chicken breasts, season and bake them, shred them, and then top them with bbq sauce and let them bake a bit longer. I eat it by itself, but my husband will make sandwiches or tacos with it. Sometimes I'll make a…
  • I chant mentally "There's only x minutes left, you can do it" over and over again...until I'm within the last five minutes, and then I'm practically counting down in anticipation for the end.
  • Yes, that is totally it.
  • Not in the least. Vending machine full of junk, the boss is constantly offering to pick us up fast food for lunch or a milkshake when he runs errands...which was great, when I wasn't trying to lose weight. And since I'm lacking on willpower as it is, it's a constant struggle.
  • My gross boys are only 3 and 2....and potty training, we've had a few poop-on-the-floor incidents and one poop-in-the-pants....they don't seem to care or feel embarrassed, but then again, they're still very young. My oldest, 7, is a girl and she throws away any underwear that get poop on them for any reason (mostly not…
  • I agree! There was a point in time where I could eat an entire medium pizza. With like two sodas. In one sitting. Now I eat only a third of that, if I'm really hungry. I don't know how I wasn't fatter too.
  • I wear shorts/capris with a thin t-shirt, and I always bring a BIG water bottle, because Zumba makes me very thirsty with all of the activity and sweating.
  • Sometimes I'll walk by a mirror and think 'wow, I look great'...and it's always surprising to me, like I can't possibly look good because I'm fat and gross. And sometimes I'll look at old pictures where I thought i was fat and ugly, but wasn't really, and long for those days. I think having self-confidence is really…
  • Awesome!!! Hang in there, you're doing great!
