I general guestimate depending on how much energy I exert. If I finish the workout with jelly legs and wanting to just lay on the floor and die, I consider that high intensity. If I'm breathless but definitely alive, I consider that low impact. Might I suggest a HRM? I was happy to see that I consistently burn more…

I weigh every day, wearing the same thing. I usually update it on here 2-3 times a week, depending on my progress.

I'm a lot more open on the internet than I am in real life...I would never talk to anyone about my fatness or anything, I embarrass easily. Otherwise, I'm pretty much the same.

I try not to eat my exercise calories (try being the key word, since I am rarely sucessful) and when I do eat them, I never eat more than half--I'm trying to lose 3 lb/week, which you can't factor in for your calories here, so I try to have an excess in exercise calories at the end of the day. Sometimes it takes a bit of…

Way to go!! That's fantastic!!!!

My kids love Logans Roadhouse and I usually do pretty well...a bunless plain burger and veggies or a side salad and plain potato...the other day I decided to have one of their rolls. Knowing how much calories is in the bread I normally eat, I assumed it would be 125-150 cals...WRONG! 225 for one roll! When you add it to…

You can do it! Everyone has off days, but it's important to not give up and to just try harder to change. Sometimes it's really hard to stick to eating right and exercising, but you have to take it in stride--if one day you mess up, don't dwell on it and just start up again the next day. Work on going longer between cheat…

Hello! I'm down 1.8 pounds from last Wednesday. Not as great as I hoped for, but still a loss!

1550 is what you should eat without exercise. Once you input your exercise, the amount of calories you can consume per day increase.

Welcome! The first few weeks are hard, but once you get the hang of it, it's not so bad. I've tried WW too with little results. There are a lot of wonderful, supportive people here and we'll help keep you on track.

I'm a little late, but I'd like to join! I started the C25K last night.

I aim for 5 days per week, but realistically I only get in about 3 days of actual focused exercise. I chase around my kids a lot--my 2.5 year old and 1.5 year old really make me work up a sweat!--and dance with them but I don't count anything as actual exercise unless it's working out to a video, cycling, walking, jogging…

I have baby weight to lose from my three pregnancies as well! My youngest turned 1 in May and 80 of the 100 pounds I need to lose are his. lol. Best of luck to you!!!
-
Oh boy do I ever sympathize with you!!!! I added an extra half hour to my exercise tonight just so I could eat a candy bar with lunch. I'm like the worst dieter EVER. I like your new diet idea, lol, it's just what I need too! I am working on portion control and limiting my sweets to lower calorie ones. When I need…

I'd like to join in!! My name's Jennifer, I need to lose 140 pounds total. I'm trying to lose at least 100 of that before we start trying for another baby, I had a second-trimester miscarriage earlier this year and I'm afraid it was because I was overweight. This is my second week really sticking to it, and I lost 2.8…

I understand what you're going through. I have kids on the go four nights per week, and I've found the following things help me: 1--pack a meal. Sandwich, pretzels, drink, fruit. Eat on the go, but not through a drive thru. 2--exercise while the kids are busy. My daughter has gymnastics for two hours on Monday nights, and…

I usually gain a pound or two before my period begins and then lose it as soon as I start. I'm not sure how normal I am, though, since I usually lose 15 pounds when I first become pregnant. My body is very strange sometimes.

Congrats!!! You are beautiful!
-
You can do it! Just take a deep breath, focus and start again. I've fallen off the wagon several times---sometimes I can't even see where the wagon went after I bailed!--but you can't beat yourself up over it. Try to find things that work for you--I know my biggest challenges are finding time to exercise (which is hard to…

I use the low cal butter spray and grilled chicken. I've also heard salsa is good on a potato.

I disagree. If it's something that is raising your heartrate, I'd count it. Certain types of cleaning can raise your heart rate enough to count as exercise, especially if you're not used to the work. I never count light housework, but when it comes to things that leave me breathless or drenched in sweat, I definitely count…

indymom-- I have a Sportline Solo 915--I really love it! It was pretty inexpensive and has given me no problems. Thanks for the response! I'm so relieved that it sounds right...I know what my new favorite exercise will be, haha.

I struggled with weight loss in the past. I have PCOS, which led to insulin resistance...I was on diet pills in the past, but am trying it with diet/exercise alone this time. I guess I can wait and see a doctor if it doesn't seem to be working. Thanks for the input!

I usually weigh fully clothed and then subtract out the clothing. When I was pregnant, I would weigh naked at home and then weigh at the doctor's office and I learned quickly how to estimate how much my clothing weighed (since I was comparing them every 2 weeks for 40 weeks!) So when I weigh clothed, I subtract out one…

Get a heart rate monitor watch--it'll calculate the calories for you. lol. Every little bit helps!

Can I join you? I had a second-trimester miscarriage in June and we're going to start ttc again on my next cycle. My name is Jen, and I am a mother of three (6, 2, 1) and we want one more to make our family complete. :)

I am in the same boat you are! I've been sticking to a low-cal (1300) diet since February, and I've only lost 10 pounds (most of which were in Feb/March!). Back in 2001, I lost a lot of weight (60 lbs!) by taking Glucophage, because of insulin resistance related to PCOS, but my fasting levels are looking decent now and my…

I have anywhere from 400-600 for lunch, and adjust my exercise accordingly. What are you planning on for dinner? I'd calculate the calories in that and then exercise enough to balance it all out with what you have left from lunch. My daily calorie limit is 1350, so I budget 350 for breakfast, 600 for lunch and 400 for…

I have PCOS too, and being uninsured, I can't afford to see my doctor to get back on Metaformin...while taking it, I lost 60 pounds at one point! I have about 100 to lose, and I know it's possible...hopefully I won't gain it all back this time. It comes on very easily!

If we don't count Subway, I'm in! I did horribly at No Fast Food April (I only lasted a week!), so I'm going to give May a shot!
