I hear Glide is good for prevention. Diaper cream works great after the fact. True, you may not want to go in public with white cream all over your arms, but if you are in for the night, it really helps heal up chafing.

What kind of exercise do you do? Cardio helps my anxiety. Toning happens for me only through lots of weights.

I don't know if this will work for you, but I do best when I don't put my mind first on losing weight. Instead of thinking about what I'm giving up, I focus on what I will add. For example, I don't tell myself that I can't have chocolate. Instead, I tell myself that I need to eat three fruits today, and then if I want…

Update: I started logging again and it has helped a ton! Ok, not a ton, but it has helped 2.5 pounds, so yes, working. Thanks for all the feedback guys! I'm increasing fruits and veggies and cutting more junk out. I'm not logging super precisely, but it has been enough to make me more aware of how many calories I need and…

hhorst, I have twins, too! I had them at 40. 50 and menopause just feels different. I'm starting to log again, so thanks to you guys who recommended that. I am doing weight training, but just 2-3 times a week because those are the only times I can. I'm set for 1/2 pound a week, and my goal is to lose 10: 130 down to 120,…

That said, I've been back at the weight loss gain for the past 2 months - and have lost 7 pounds the exact same way. Calories in/calories out. It sounds to me like you may have to be a bit tougher on yourself about the calories. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news - but the good news is that it IS possible…

At least we aren’t alone!

Stretching and insoles really helped me, too.

Congratulations! Looks like you have a great maintenance outlook! Keep up the good work!

After 35, I found it took at least 2 weeks of living perfect to see scale movement. Keep doing the right things. Warning: I also found that I have to exercise like a maniac. Just chasing the kids doesn't do it for me. I need 30 minutes of real cardio daily, and weights help, too. Good luck!

My thoughts, too. The more I restrict myself, the more likely I am to fail later in the day. I tend to do better when I keep myself well fed until 3-4. If I do that, I'm not as hungry at night.

Unless you were lifting weights (like bench press) when you gained the weight, you probably didn't gain muscle in your boobs. Boobs are made up of mammary glands and fat. It's ok. It's probably the prettiest fat we get. It's also one of the reasons women's body fat % stays higher than men's. There's no way to tell how much…

You really, really, really need a new therapist. If therapy isn't working, find someone who can help you make it work. Have you told your therapist that you don't think it is working? Don't starve yourself. You don't need to punish yourself any more than you have, and eating normally isn't going to make that much…

I do free weights at home, not machines. Am I reading this right that she was bench pressing 25 pounds? I a little lady, but that doesn't sound like much. Sorry, I know we aren't supposed to say that. And maybe it is different on the machine. It just sounds like doing curls with the 3 lb Barbie weights, and the low weight…

I get up at 4:45, too. Not fun, but you get used to it...eventually.

I say try making your own! I love to do this when I have the time. They taste good, are cheaper than buying, don't have preservatives, and don't waste packaging.

Things I eat for lunch that don't include bread: yogurt cottage cheese (right this minute!) fruit peanut butter tuna leftovers from last night's dinner, whatever it was Good luck!

This sounds awesome to me! I'd be thrilled to drop that much body fat in a year! To the calipers I go!

I had a hysterectomy (laproscopic). I was back on the elliptical (but taking it easy) after two weeks. I think I started weights back (again, easy ones) at five weeks, even thought the doc said to wait for six. By seven weeks, I was pretty much back in the saddle. I've also had two c-sections. I really, really recommend…

I was more successful at weight loss when I did lots of cardio and ate carefully. It took 2-3 weeks to see any pounds come off. That was cardio every day for 40-90 minutes and netting 1200 calories. As I've gotten close to my goal, I've switched to weights because I couldn't get anything to change with cardio. We will see…

How about a shot for every time someone says, "People keep telling me to lift weights, but I don't want to get bulky"?
-
Fifteen pounds in three weeks doesn't sound reasonable to me, but your goal of surprising him is laudable, as is his commitment to rehab. I don't suggest crash dieting to get it off quickly, as it will probably come back just as fast. I'd say aim for 1-2 pounds a week, buy something super sexy, and know that he's gonna…

Be the most committed person in the gym because that's what really matters! Good luck!

1. It sounds like you did the right thing in trying something new (30DS), it just didn't work for you. No problems there, right? 2. It is great you learned that you liked exercising outside. Maybe that is one reason you didn't like 30 DS? 3. Maybe C25K appealed to you because it is so goal oriented? 30DS doesn't really…

"I'd lift, but I don't want to get bulky muscles" sounds just like "I'd eat healthy, but I don't want to get anorexic." Do these people not understand how hard it is to get muscles? I exercise an hour every day, cardio and weights, and I'm nowhere close to those ideal, muscle bodies. And I eat pretty well, so I can't just…

I exercise at home now, but squats didn't bother me in the gym. What did bother me was leg curls. I felt like it looked like I was humping the bench.

You might take measurements and not just judge by how you look. I've found that I'm not a good judge of looking at my body for results. I don't know why. I will feel thinner, but weigh more or I'll feel fatter and weigh less or fit into clothes I didn't expect to fit into. Pictures maybe?

I don't think it is just the 121 and wants to lose 10 pounds that makes this sound unhealthy. I'm 5'3" and want to get to around 111. I was there last summer. The unhealthy part is the diary being way under and the barrage of posts being frustrated with it all. Really, consider doing this in a healthier way. If you mess up…
